Read it again, Sam!
SMELL THE FRIGGIN COFFEE OR ELSE, DAMMIT.
LEARN TO CARRY A PICKET SIGN AND MARCH AND STRIKE AND PICKET -- OR ELSE LEARN THE ART OF EATING OUT OF DUMPSTERS.
MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF YOU'RE, LIBERAL, CONSERVATIVE, LIBERTARIAN. SOCIALIST -- WHATEVER -- ALL WILL EAT OUT OF THE SAME DUMPSTER.

The fact that people talked politics at Coretta Scott King's funeral is upsetting to some people. Conservatives especially, but not exclusively. There's nothing new about this, however. For the most part, these are the same folks who always wanted the civil rights community to shut up.
Looking at data from the National Election Survey (NES), cumulative file 1952-2000, we find the following:
(1) To the question, "Do you think that civil rights leaders are trying to push too fast, are going too slowly, or are they moving about the right speed?" the public answered:
Liberal Mod Conserv Total
- Too slowly 23.3 9.8 6.7 12
- About right 55.2 50.7 50 51.6
- Too fast 20 36.5 40.4 33.8
- DK/depends 1.5 3 3 2.6

Think Bush's NSA war powers theory does not personally affect you? Think again. Bush claims the power to seize computers, e-mails and records even without the use of the Patriot Act; the power to assassinate terrorists in US; the power to "house" Americans in "detention centers" and immunity for violating constitutional rights. These are some of the tentacles spreading out from the same theory used to justify Bush's illegal spying on Americans by the NSA.

I have to defend the president and make it clear that I am adamantly opposed to creating animal-human hybrids. This idea surely is the result of liberal christmas-hating atheists and has no place in a god-fearing democracy. The sight of half-human half-animal hybrid creatures walking around the streets of our beloved land would, without doubt, be a sign of impending armagedon. It may be a cute thing at first, watching little boy-dolphins frolicking in the sea, and little wolf-cub girls chasing the cats, but soon they would grow up. And then what? They would probably want civil rights protections and access to the minimum wage. And it would give the phrase "hung like a horse" a whole new meaning.
I may be sounding like a Republican, but I will throw you liberal animal-hybrid activists a bone (no pun intended.) Technically, these "humanimals" would not be real people, and as such, they would not be protected by the soon to be instituted abortion laws. So, we would be able to abort them without going to jail. This may, in fact, help alleviate the impending abortion withdrawal all you liberals will soon be feeling.
That having been said, I am not opposed to human-plant hybrids, and I suspect these "humants" may be the solution to sending man (or whatever) to Mars.

For the second time, news about Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Samuel Alito coincides with the news cycle containing reports of the death of a major civil rights icon. Coretta Scott King died last night, the same day that the Senate refused to extend debate (by a vote of 72-25!) on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the United States Supreme Court. A few days after the death of Rosa Parks (October 25, 2005) President George W. Bush nominated Alito to the court (on Halloween!) Hmmm, is this coincidence or foreshadowing?
