Planet Obama

It's so easy to get lost in the day to day polling and focus on the micro-surges and nuances of the election for political crack addicts like us.  We gripe about positions, we revel in minor shifts in poll data from Nevada, we bicker and argue policy nuances until it becomes almost an act of candidate mastication but we forget something;  Something fundamental.  Thank you Parmit Kaur Singh for reminding me.

One person's opinion - Tues. night speeches

Tues. night listening to Clinton speech I did not find it offensive.  In fact I thought her speech was great.  Yeah, that's right it was a great speech, but of course, the MSM panned it, calling it a horrible stepping on Obama's staging of his claim to the nomination.  This was patently wrong.  After all, Obama did not have the required pledged delegates to clinch the nomination, in fact, that is the only way to get the nomination prior to the convention, where the super delegates vote.  Now, enough super delegates have 'declared' for Obama for him to justify his claim, but until the convention, his claim is not reality.

The biggest problem with Tues night was the Obama campaign trying to say that he had clinched it, but he did not have the required pledged delegates to make that claim.  Now that the MSM has once again attacked her for her having the temerity to celebrate her accomplishments, and the fact that in the face of his claim she actually won South Dakota, she had no right to thank her supporters, to list what her campaign did accomplish or to state clearly that she was making no decisions at that time?  I feel that the Obama campaign seems to always go for the theatrics, and then use the MSM to trash Clinton, as they have done repeatedly.  The Obama campaign should have not tried to be so cute, or so anxious to declare victory at her expense.  After all, he already has those super delegates in his pocket, so why try to force her to concede that night?

What Stands Between Us? A Losing Candidate

I want to hug the HRC people but Hillary insists on getting in my way.  I'm mad and frustrated.

Deep down I wanted the epic ending on this historic June 3, 2008 night.  I wanted to see her bust out, I wanted her to damn those Clinton Torpedoes, and let it rip in an unfettered gesture of support for the historic figure who won - Obama.  Yet, she couldn't do it.  Instead she reminded us it was she who was right, she was the better candidate, she won the most votes, and she was introduced as the "next president of the United States." As she reminded us it was all about "asking, 'What does Hillary want? What does she want?'" Sadly, for her great and devoted supporters the candidate fumbled the golden ball on the biggest of nights in American History.  She stole from her supporters the right to say "see we told you she was great.  How dare you question us or her!" Instead, as some said, "it was deranged narcissism."

My diaries and posts keep getting deleted

Apparently, the mods are afraid to discuss the fact that there are many Democrats who are not trolls but who really dislike Obama and who are OK with McCain. This will be a large part of the electorate in the fall, so deal with it now or later. Many Obama people have said they would not vote for Hillary if she wins, and they are lauded for their courage to not sell out to the Clinton machine. This is a Democratic site and it's important to discuss those Democrats who are so angry they won't vote for the nominee. Deleting their posts and diaries isn't going to help win their vote.

Let's have some freedom of speech here, OK?
