ABC/Obama: I voted for Barack Today 'cause of ABC

why do the sean hannitys and Rush Limbaughs of the world get to decide what is a "journalist" worthy question for a democratic debate?

It is no coincidence that ABC affiliates in cities like New York carry Limbaugh and Hannity....

I'm personally boycotting ABC -  by the way ESPN recently cancelled an interview with Obama.   (espn is also owned by the same parent corp. as ABC).

In one way this is a good thing for Obama cause these stupid smear by association questions have now been asked officially by "journalists".

Anyone know why Gibson thinks most Americans are heavily impacted by capital gains taxes?

Anyway the lynching last night made me vote for Obama today in NC and I'm going to contribute the first time ever cause of the debacle.

I do hope if anyone from Obama's campaign reads this he really does get a better answer about how the RNC and now traditional media do their best to distract voters from the issues that impact their lives..

why haven't we heard about the Keating 5? etc...

The Most Serious Issues of our Time

Over the next four years, the next President of the United States is going to have to grapple with some of the most complex and profoundly important issues that we have had to deal with as a country for at least a generation.  We all know what these issues are - we see the consequences of them on regular basis at the gas pump, the increase in home foreclosure sales in our neighborhoods, families we know whose sons and daughters have shipped off to Iraq and Afghanistan, the sudden jump in food prices at the grocery store.  And this is merely what's been making headlines in the past week.

Miseries of Populism: April 17

The blogs are enraged about last night's debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, mainly because of the tabloid quality of questions posed by the journalists in charge of the show.

Barack Obama objected to "gotcha" coverage of politics in the media, but when Bill Clinton mentioned Jesse Jackson in South Carolina, the Obama campaign ran up the red herring of racism on every flag-pole it could find. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton played along with the latest tabloid "issues," because Obama is the most "got" candidate in this particular round of "gotchas."

The debate was obviously a shallow, sensationalistic mess, and hundreds of bloggers suggested "better" questions, beginning with the live blogs and endlessly multiplied the next day. Almost all these questions are very good questions in themselves, but I can't understand why anyone would want to pose them to a couple of fund-raising freaks like Obama and Clinton.

Does anyone expect to learn anything about Iraq from Clinton or Obama?

Does anyone believe that anything either of them might say will matter for one minute after the election?

If ABC had somehow resurrected Socrates himself to question this pair of publicity monsters with no firm commitment to anything, the debate would have been just as silly.
