As I imagine, once the wounds heal, most of you guys are, too.
This isn't a "now we need unity" diary. We'll get it, for the most part. It won't be automatic, but Obama will do his best to earn it.
This isn't a "she tried her best" diary. But she did, and ran one hell of a campaign. The results could easily have been very different, and that's a credit to her supporters and to her. When my daughters tell me they want to be president, the first thing that's going to come to mind is going to be the fact that Hillary Clinton nearly was (and may be- 2016 is closer than we think!).
This definitely isn't a "ha-ha told you so" diary, and I hope not to see any.
This is a shout out to all of you. While it got a little nasty at times, for the vast majority of what was the most intense primary battle we've had in years, I think most of us kept it together.
Democrats had a bad run from 2000-2006, and for a while, I know I felt like someone I wanted in office would NEVER win. That's why we threw ourselves behind our respective candidates so passionately. While we disagreed with each other on the why and who, there's zero doubt in my mind that every single person here firmly believed their candidate was the best person to lead this country, and fought for it accordingly.
Hear Tony Blankley, Newt Gingrich's former press secretary, call W's former press secretary Scott McClellan "an inconsequential cipher." Robert Scheer thinks Hillary is trying to be the new Margaret Thatcher. Matt Miller and Arianna Huffington say they want a leader who'll fight for the right to serve -- but just not Hillary. And remembering Sydney Pollack.
On Friday, May 16th, the popular public radio program/podcast Left, Right and Center, features David Frum, the man who gave us two of the three-word phrase, "axis of evil." He sits in as a substitute "right" (usually it's Tony Blankley) on the program. Regular panelists Arianna Huffington, Robert Scheer and Matt Miller bat back and forth with David about their thoughts on the prospect of gay marriage as an election issue, whether Obama is an appeaser (David says we should change the word to "assuager"), whether Israel at 60 is a stronger nation, whether the Republicans are having a nervous breakdown (David says they need to focus all their energy and money on Congressional elections), and why Republicans want Hillary to run...

Most people on this site are strong Hillary supporters. What are the expectations for Pennsylvania? How will the results of PA affect support for Hillary?
More after the jump...
Much to my suprise, I had on NBC and the Today Show this morning. Hubby forgot to change the channel, it wasn't my fault!
It was so embarrasing listening to Matt Lauer trying to make a story out of the talking points being shoved at them from the Obama campaign. Coloring words, emphasis of excitement on words that have little meaning, indignance on possible embelleshing of a scenerio of the First Lady going in to a War Zone in Bosnia.
Citing it must have been embelleshing on the recount of her trip to Bosnia, because Mrs. Clinton was greeted by a young girl on the tarmac. [oh my heavens!](snark). Of course trying to gloss over the fact that Mrs. Clinton DID go in to a WAR ZONE, BOSNIA, and was met with a surrounding of troops upon her arrival.
My temporary depression is over. I have habituated to the political realities
and
I stand corrected on my prediction of Obama to win the nomination. I went through the rest of the Primary schedule:
The winner of the Pledged delegates will win the Superdelegate support and
Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic Nomination!
According to CNN
Clinton has 924 pledged delegates:
as you can see below I anticipate her getting 799 more from future primary dates for a total of 1723
Obama has 986 pledged delegates:
as you can see below I anticipate him getting 734 more from future primary dates for a total of 1720
The Super-delegates will overwhelmingly go for Clinton and force Obama as vice presidential nominee.
Projected Delegate allocation:

D.C. 37 Clinton 8 Obama 29
MD 99 Clinton 40 Obama 59
VA 101 Clinton 41 Obama 60

The good news is that she doesn't have to "go negative". Once Senator Obama becomes the frontrunner from tomorrow and Saturday's results, this will allow Hillary to make a "stand" on March 4th. Just as the voters on Super Tuesday broke towards Hillary, much of the same will happen in every contested race for the remainder of the Primary. Senator Obama will win many delegates because many places will be uncontested.
However, Hillary will win everywhere she tries:
Ohio, Texas,Penn., Indiana, N.C., West Virgina, Kentucky, Oregon, and Puerto Rico
Weekly Voting Rights News Update
By Erin Ferns
Two historically disenfranchised groups - former felons and young people - made headlines this week for assiduously struggling to restore their voting rights, a measure that both groups argue is necessary in order for them to have a voice in the nation's future come November 4.
Did you know that Fox News hasn't published a single poll showing a general election matchup between John Edwards and a Republican?
On the other hand, Fox has released 23 matchups featuring Hillary Clinton and a Republican -- and 10 with Barack Obama.
Fox must know what a comprehensive analysis of publicly available polling data shows: John Edwards is the most electable Democrat, leading Republicans by 8 points on average, compared to 5 points for Obama, and 3 points for Hillary.
