The latest Suffolk Univ Polls.
In Kentucky, Hillary Clinton (51 percent) led Barack Obama (25 percent) by 26 points, followed by John Edwards (6 percent) and "uncommitted" (5 percent), while 11 percent were undecided. In Oregon, Obama (45 percent) led Clinton (41 percent) by 4 points, with 8 percent undecided and 6 percent refusing a response.
I think before Oregon & Kentucky counting begins on May 20th, Obama should give a Victory speech with a "Mission Accomplished" somewhere in the backgroun. The math says that there is no way for Hillary to become the Nominee.

Alright so you're a progressive, or a big sky democrat. You're one of the chosen few. You might be an independent, you're not swayed by the whim of some party line propaganda. You know the real story. You're not a Clintonista. You're not an Obama-head. You're a real live voter with real live voter instincts that are so sharp if a single samurai thread of hair falls on them it will be cut into two.
Do me a favor. Try out this simple quiz and see if you know the difference between George W. Bush, and John McCain.
And seriously. If anyone HONESTLY gets all of these five questions right - can they post back over here about it?
Because I consider myself fairly savvy, hey - you know. A guy who front pages myDD (when Jerome lets me), every now and then. Fairly in the know. I will admit. I got 2/5 wrong. It blew me away.
Cross-posted from OH-16: John Boccieri for U.S. Congress
I love days like today...a blogger's dream! The campaign just pounded so much Mojo at me today I had turn it into a major round-up. It's a quite fitting run of "Ground Mobilization" by our candidate, the Ohio State Senator Major John Boccieri. Boots on the ground! It's time to rock Ohio's 16th Congressional District out of the tired funk from "The Hillary, Barack, McCain Diary Train". Get ready for the battle brewing here in Northeast Ohio!
Out of Headquarters...Ground Mobilization!
That should be the media's headlines over the weekend after hearing the President make his 8th primetime television speech about Iraq to the American people.
While I'm not a supporter of John Edwards, he said it best tonight during his paid for commercial that was aired not long after the President spoke. "In January, after years of evidence that military actions cannot force a political solution, the president announced a military surge to force a political solution. In May, he vetoed a plan to end the war, demanded more time to show the surge could work, and Congress gave it to him. Now, after General Petraeus reports the surge has produced no progress toward a political solution, what does the president want? More time for the surge to work, when all of us know it won't."
The President informed the nation tonight that he expects to leave a U.S. presence in Iraq way beyond his presidency. He said Iraqi leaders "have asked for an enduring relationship with America." The mission keeps changing, have you noticed?
What happened to, "Missions Accomplished" Mr. President?
As noted by Adam Conner on Breaking Blue, the DNC has posted the state-by-state costs to pay for Bush's War. Through the magic of Excel, it is made clear that the states that supported Kerry in 2004 - hereafter called "so-called Blue States" - shouldered a significantly greater amount of Bush's War than those who went for Bush - hereafter called "so-called Red States."
By my calculations, 19 so-called Blue States have paid $207.1496 (55.18% of total), while 31 so-called Red States have paid $168.2247 (44.82% of total). That's a difference of $38.9249 Billion (10.37%), or almost $40 Billion. I could list a slew of reasons why this is unfair - exacerbated by rampant fraud and fatcatting of, shall we say, otherwise illiberal individuals - but my guess is that you by and large don't need me to tell you. State-by-state numbers below the jump...
Note: I think "Bush's War" might be a nice way for Dems across the nation to frame the war in Iraq. I know it's not precise enough - no credit given to Cheney et al. - but that's message framing for you.
From Dan Conley on Political Insider:
http://politicalinsider.com/2006/12/2007 _prediction.html
Let me be the first Political Insider contributor to offer a prediction for what will be the most important political event of 2007: the return of the Vietnam-era street protest.
Having seen that non-existent public support and a Democratic Party takeover of Congress is not enough to keep President Bush from escalating the Iraq War, war opponents will take to the streets in the largest anti-war protests since the early 70s. By spring, expect a massive, million + participant march in Washington to coincide with the fourth anniversary of "Mission Accomplished." Every Democratic candidate for President ... and at least one Republican ... will speak at the rally.
Reprinted from The Satirical Political Report http://satiricalpolitical.com
On the eve of the midterm elections, Bush has announced that Iraq is reconstituting its programs of WMD, "based on nucular technology ... from America, and therefore requires a re-invasion of Iraq."
Bush went out of his way to thank Republican Congressman Peter Hoekstra (rhymes with "schnookster") for creating this development, by his insistence on posting thousands of classified documents from the Iraqi Gulf-War era on an official Government website.
Bush also dismissed any notion that he would fire Donald Rumsfeld, despite an editorial calling for Rumsfeld's head by The Army Times, asserting that "you go with the Defense Secretary who screwed everything up, not one that's competent."
