It's outrageous!

Since I am feeling relatively good about the Mydd community right now and the comments and rec's from both HRC and BO supporters in my previous diary about the sick exploition of BO's comments on Auschwitz for political gain.  I thought I would give this one a try and see if we can get a balance of people standing up for what's right.

Joan Walsh of salon.com was on Hardball last night and was pretty vigilantly defending HRC from the ridiculous accusations stemming from her RFK comments.  This was refreshing to see, since HRC is very, very, very rarely defended by anyone in the media.  But IMO her remarks on this topic are pretty spot on.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: So far I am being let down. Save for a handful, most are perpetuating this nonsense and applying a double standard that they asked for yesterday. Please remember this all.

Chris Mathews Eviscerates Right Wing Hack!

Enjoy....

NC State Senator Julia Boseman on MSNBC's Hardball Tonight

NC State Senator Julia Boseman will be appearing on Hardball Tonight with Harold Ford. According to Hardball producers, they want to talk to her about the experiences she has had on the campaign trail with Former President Clinton.

From the Washington Post:

He's become the campaign's self-proclaimed "ambassador to small-town America," traveling to places where the mere arrival of his motorcade signals a significant moment in local history, where his charm and affability carry substantial weight among voters.

In the past month, at least 20 counties in Indiana and North Carolina received their first-ever presidential visits when Clinton stopped by. That meant 20 grateful towns, 20 awestruck audiences and a trail of feel-good local media coverage across both states. Hillary Clinton's campaign hopes it will pay off in her marathon race with Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) when rural voters in North Carolina and Indiana vote in their states' primaries Tuesday.

"He's perfect in places like this," said Julia Boseman, a North Carolina state senator who traveled to Lumberton with Clinton last week. "He has a way of instantly making the kind of connection that wins over people in towns like these. People here can't believe they're seeing or touching him. They love him just for coming."

Everybody likes a little attention.  And the attention our former POTUS is giving small towns in IN and NC might just pay off on Election Day.

This is the first time during this campaign cycle I am actually looking forward to watching Hardball.

Chris Matthews Slams Rev. Wright [Video]

Chris Matthews, in a reprieve from his normal state of Obama-euphoria, moderated a discussion today about Rev. Wright's interview by Bill Moyers scheduled to be aired tomorrow on PBS.

The panel members were dismayed at Wright's remarks that Barack "goes out as a politican and says what he needs to say" to win elections, as opposed to himself (Wright), a "pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God."

What is Wright thinking?  It's especially bad timing since the NC GOP just previewed a TV ad in North Carolina starring Wright's "god damn america" rant.  I'm stumped by this.

Elsewhere in the segment, they all praised Hillary's performance this week, Matthews going so far as to declare her "the Norma Rae of Pennsylvania."

What's going on? It's hard to believe that this is MSNBC.  Is it possibly a sign of buyer's remorse by the mass media?

Take a look...

Chris Matthews Disgraces Media Journalists With Disturbing Remarks

Chris Matthews, host of the MSNBC political show "Hardball" doesn't know how to keep himself from getting into trouble.

Matthews fired a salvo at the Clinton campaign this morning after both he and his MSNBC colleague Shuster were privately and publicly rebuked for recent comments deemed misogynistic or inappropriate.

Appearing on MSNBC's Morning Joe, the Hardball host went off on the Clinton press shop, calling them "knee cappers" who were "lousy" and delve in the business of "intimidation."
This man has become a total disgrace to the media networks, and his bias towards Clinton is rampantly evident. I think the time has come for Matthews to be censured for his insensitive and inappropriate comments, and the network needs to set an example with all journalists that work for their organization, that these type of comments have no place in the news and media framework of journalistic broadcasting.

Which you have to be to make Chris Matthews look good. You'd think every leftist would be celebrating after the stupid right-wing asshole got taken down for a typically coarse Hardball anti-Clinton remark. But, oh yeah, it was about a Clinton, and, oh yeah, we're in the middle of irrational Obamamania, even at increasingly myleftwingian fleshfeast.

Let's take a walk through some of Shuster the Nose Picker's greatest flubs, courtesy mostly of the Daily Howler. Here he is 'truth squading' after the Dem debate last August (my bold):

SHUSTER (8/7/07): There were a few instances in this forum tonight where Democrats gave some untruthful descriptions of the Bush administration and the impact of administration policies on the nation. Watch.

CLINTON (videotape): Well, the first thing I would do would put somebody in charge who actually cared about the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

BIDEN (videotape): We know how badly this president has ruined the country.

SHUSTER: The use of the word "ruin" is pretty amazing, Chris, because you think "ruin" is defined as "irreparable damage," and for Joe Biden to say the nation is irreparably damaged--is ruined permanently--that is a bit of a stretch. And also, you can have arguments about whether it is right policy as far as rebuilding New Orleans and what they`re doing, but to say that the Bush administration doesn't care about New Orleans, that's a leap. [Shuster's emphasis]

MATTHEWS: OK. Thank you, David Shuster.

Chris Matthews: Limbaugh Will Let Hillary Clinton Win So He Can Be "Government In Exile"

[Republished from 2008Central.net]

In an exchange with Howard Fineman and Michelle Bernard on today's Hardball, Chris Matthews suggested that Limbaugh would let Hillary Clinton win in order to become the government in exile:

Howard Fineman: McCain is relying on the idea that if he does get the nomination, the prospect of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama will be enough to unite the conservatives.  I don't necessarily think that's the case.  Sometimes conservative activists get in a mood where they prefer to loose...

Chris Matthews: Right.

Fineman: ...They prefer to lose...

Matthews: Yes! Yes!

Fineman: ...They want to Lose.  They love to lose.

Matthews:  I just think that's so true.  Michelle, I think these guys like Rush Limbaugh, who I think is a great professional at what he does, would love to be the government in exile, have a democrat like Hillary Clinton, especially Hillary Clinton as president.  And he would be in heaven for four years, putting her in hell.

Michelle Bernard: No one is going to unify the Republican party more than Hillary Clinton, you know.  Let's make that clear.  I've got to actually agree with...

Matthews: No, I mean let her win the presidency, so that guys on radio can dance for four years on her grave.  I mean, they'll just love it.

This is multidimensional nonsense.  It's pretty clear that for the safety of others, going forward, MSNBC should only allow Matthews to use NERF on Hardball.

For context, in the subsequent segment, Matthews reads a letter from former Speaker Tip O'Neil's daughter that praises Barack Obama and states that Tip would support Obama if he were alive.  Matthews goes on to talk about the cut of Obama's jib.

Does Chris Matthews have a problem with women?

Crossposted at DailyKos

Does Chris Matthews have a problem with women?

Using overtly sexist language, he has referred to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) as a "she devil" and compared her to a "strip-teaser." He has called her "witchy" and likened her voice to "fingernails on a blackboard." He has referred to men who support her as "castratos in the eunuch chorus." He has suggested Clinton is not "a convincing mom" and said "modern women" like Clinton are unacceptable to "Midwest guys." He has called her "Madame Defarge" and "Nurse Ratched."
