How we know this is over....

Guys it is over, the only reason its not like Politico reported is because the media loves a close race, but anyone who ACTUALLY talks about how Hillary wins the nomination has to admit two things

1) without a FL/MI redo Hillary has almost no chance now to get a pledged delegate or Popular vote lead.
2) without at LEAST a popular vote lead, Hillary is not going to be the nominee.

the fact of the matter is I see NONE of Hillary's supporters actually admitting the math, oh they talk about how its possible but never would one post that she needs 60% of the vote in ALL states and she has only done thins once and its not likely to happen again with out a scandal even bigger then Wright.

now what are the chances of a scandal bigger then wright happening? I honestly think that if Hillary truly believes a scandal can happen, then suspend your campaign keep your delegates and lets wait and see.

but you should not be tearing down Obama building up Mccain, when you aren't even sure that the scandal will happen.

but I will make a challenge if Hillary Supporters have an honest and upfront discussion of her chances to win by popular vote and thus win the nomination I will donate $100 to her campaign, and I challenge other Obama supporters to join me.

how so? well Blog on Pro-Hillary blogs (like TaylorMarsh.com) and get an actual post on the chances of a win WITH numbers, I saw TMs last one, but what she leaves out are numbers, she says she was to win big but doesnt say how big because obviously then its a bit more telling that this thing is done.

I don't care if Hillary stays in as long as there is more to her plan then "He will implode, he just has to"

so Hillary supporters your candidate has a viable path to the nomination? take my $100 challenge and show us.

First donation ever

This is my first diary ever. I've been reading the likes of dailykos, mydd and etc for the last few years but I never reached a point at which I felt I had to write something. I have never made a donation to a political campaign in my entire life. This is despite my being involved in politics, especially in Europe where I am from, for at least 25 years. To avoid misinterpretations, let me say that I am a permanent resident and I will be voting in 2012. So, today I started donating to the Obama campaign. My donation was $10. Although, I could afford donating more I decided against it. Instead, I decided that I will be donating $10 every single day until this nomination is determined (hopefully, when Obama becomes the party's nominee). So, one might ask why today and why this type of decision?

Today, because Hillary Clinton crossed a line yesterday. She stated that John McCain would bring a lifetime of experience to the White House and also that John McCain crossed the commander-in-chief threshold . This is the John McCain that enthousiastically voted for the Iraq war and doesn't mind staying there for whatever (you pick) number of years. I do not care that Hillary Clinton's plan is - whether she wants to win the primary at any cost or to damage Obama enough so that McCain wins and she can run again in 2012. I do not care. These statements are just inexcusable.

I chose this type of arrangement so that I will stay involved till the end. Until Barack Obama wins the nomination and then goes on to become the president of the United States. Barack Obama will unite the country and, more importantly, will decisively stop the short-sighted stupid cowboy-style US foreign policy that will make America safer and more respected around the world.

PEACE.

LET'S HELP OUR GIRL OUT!!

Update [2008-3-5 12:56:8 by unabashed dem]: VIA HER WEBSITE $3 MILLION IN 24 HOURS!! LET'S DO IT!

Hillary's Donors

As an ardent Hillary supporter, I was a bit worried when I heard about her money woes on Wednesday. But then, on Thursday, while waiting in line to board my flight at La Guardia Airport, I overheard a conversation between three airline employees, two of whom were women [for simplicity's sake, let's call them Jane and Jenny], the other, a man [let's call him Jack]. The conversation went something like this:

Jack to Jane [in a menacing tone]: I told you to do so and so...why haven't you done it yet?

Jenny: Jack, you can't talk to her like that.

Jack: I can talk to her any way I want to.

Jenny: No you can't. I'll stick Hillary on you.

Jack: Yeah, well good luck with that. Hillary has no more money.

Jenny: Not if I can help it. I'm gonna donate $10 when I get home tonight.

Jane: Yeah, me too.

The line then began to move. I smiled to myself and boarded the plane. Hillary will be fine. Sure enough, when I got home, and surveyed the headlines, I was greeted with the news that the campaign had raised over $6 million in 72 hours.  I'm sure Jane and Jenny would be proud. They helped make it happen.

Tax Rebates- What to do with them?

So, the Bush Tax Rebate is going to happen. It will be another failure in a history of failures for the biggest failure who has ever failed. My question is this: What should we, as Democrats, do with this money?

My suggestion is this. If you can, in anyway, afford to donate this money to a progressive Democratic candidate I would urge you to do so. If you can't, than I hope you will use it to pay down debt or do something otherwise useful with it. But if this is money that you and your family can spare it would be a wonderful move to donate it to the progressive candidate of your choice. It would also be wonderful if one of Bush's failed policy maneuvers helped to fund Democratic success stories all over the country.

Help Obama reach an unthinkable goal by tomorrow.

Help Barack Obama reach an unprecedented 125,000 donations since the start of 2008. Over the past three weeks or so Obama supporters have worked tirelessly to bring new support to the campaign. The original goal set by the campaign was 100,000. That was crushed a few days ago. Now, with nearly 6500 new donations coming in every day, it is time to break through the goal of 125,000.

With around 24 hours to go and under 10,000 donations left I know we can accomplish this tremendous task. I myself gave my first $50 donation today, and it felt great! The campaign has set up a program where donors are matched with another donor. They can share their reasons for supporting Senator Obama as well as keep in contact through email. It's truly a wonderful experience to chat with another supporter. So please, be part of this evergrowing movement!

The count sits at: 115,401
