The Bush administration appears to have learned a few things from the Obama campaign and is now touting the "audacity of hope" about progress with the intransigent Israelis, whose colonial agenda is now open for all to see.
Turning to hope signifies that the US has lost any leverage it may have had to bring Israel out of its dream world as neither Rice, nor Bush and his shadow, Cheney, have been effective. Perhaps they haven't heard: Oslo and the principle of land for peace was pronounced dead back in 2000 when Sharon instigated the second Intifada, even before 9/11. It was 9/11, however, which benefited Israel most according to the Likud party chairman, Netanyahu, by providing Israel, with the help of the US State Department, with its greatest propaganda triumph ever, one that continues to dominate the news.
Israel is the victim of Palestinian terrorism. The purpose of the military occupation, therefore, is to root out and kill terrorists. Under this veil of propaganda, the occupation continues, even today, with its ethnic cleansing, land confiscations, and the unrelenting building of settlements. In short, Israel's colonialism is alive and well in the West Bank, or as it is known in Israel, Judea and Samaria.

UPI Reports...
WASHINGTON, April 6 (UPI) -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has exhibited interest in becoming John McCain's vice presidential running mate, a Republican strategist says.
Dan Senor revealed during Sunday's edition of ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" that Rice has been seeking support to be considered for the No. 2 spot on the Republican ticket this fall.
"Condi Rice has been actively, actually in recent weeks, campaigning for this," Senor said.
After Bush in January called for an end to Israel's military occupation of Palestinian lands, the creation of a Palestinian state, and again predicted success within year, his words have yet to have any impact on the Israel government. And about this plan, Bush was also specific:
RAMALLAH, West Bank January 10, 2008
"There should be an end to the occupation that began in 1967. The agreement must establish Palestine as a homeland for the Palestinian people, just as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people. These negotiations must ensure that Israel has secure, recognized, and defensible borders. And they must ensure that the state of Palestine is viable, contiguous, sovereign, and independent."
This is pretty cool. Its a vocabulary building game called Free Rice. As you play the game, small advertisements are seen below and those companies pay to the Non-Profit running Free Rice. The non-profit uses this money to by 10 grains of rice for every word you get right and donates them to third world countries. Its a cool game and a great way to help out others.
Selective inforcement of the law based on political considerations or expediency is not an option for the Democratic Congress or the Justice Department. Refusing to investigate possible fraud and criminal acts perpetrated by the Bush administration, regardless of prior events in prior administrations, is to allow politics to trump the law and deny the right of the people to a constitutional government free of corruption. This is, furthermore, a matter that reaches beyond the actions of the President and therefore the demands of justice under law would not be fully addressed with his impeachment and conviction.
Former federal prosecutor, Elizabeth de la Vega, in her book, "U.S. V. BUSH" makes a compelling case for the indictment of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Powell on the grounds of Conspiracy to defraud the United States, in violation of 18 U.S.C Section 371 and Executive Orders 12670 and 12731.
It is incumbent upon us all to help the Congress and the Justice Department to do what is right in this matter. The blood of all those who have suffered as a consequence of this crime cry out for justice to be done.
Elizabeth de la Vega's book, "U.S. v. BUSH" makes the case for indictments of the gang of five on the grounds of conspiracy to defraud the United States. The following is a commentary extracted from her very persuasive argument:
President Bush would have us believe that the intelligence community of the whole world was of one mind: that Iraq (1) had WMD, (2) the nuclear capacity to strike the US with missiles, (3) was in cahoots with bin Laden in the 9/11 attack, (4) was conspiring with terrorists to attack the US and (5) was posed to attack the US at any moment if we did not act immediately.
When we got into Iraq and found none of this true, he would have us believe that it came as a complete surprise...a bolt out of the blue...something that no reasonable person could have anticipated and that, therefore, the intelligence community, for some twisted reason, must had hyped all that stuff and the Bush team fell victim to a rouge IC conspiracy that resulted in the people of Iraq falling victim to a cruel hoax.
Nothing could be farther from the truth! The reality is that there were red flags all around these so-called reasons for attacking Iraq, but no one in the administration wanted to heed them. Accusations were made and repeated long after every reliable sources said they were bogus. An example of this duplicity was Cheney's declaration on December 10, 2001 that it was "pretty well confirmed" that Mohammed Atta, the 9/11 ringleader, had met with the head of Iraqi intelligence in Prague the previous April. Whatever investigation "confirmed" that information must have not talked to the Czechs, because they had determined that the Iraqi intelligence officer was not in the country in April of 2001 and Atta, according to the FBI, was in Florida!
So, Cheney's so-called "confirmation" did not bother to ask our own FBI much less the Czechs. And several members of the administration said there were "no plans on the President's desk to invade Iraq." The statement could only be interpreted as an effort to deceive the listener because plans had been in the works since November 17, 2001. They might not be "on the President's desk" but there were filing cabinets full of them in the Pentagon.
The bottom line is that the Bush administration was primed to invade Iraq and depose Saddam even before it took office and through the coordinated effort of individuals and organizations misled the Congress into authorizing a legitimate and limited use of force under UN guideline, that was then, through deceit and misrepresentations, morphed into a justification for a war against the innocent people of Iraq.
It has been said that Bush has lied. That may or may not be true. What is beyond reasonable doubt, however, is that the Bush administration set out to deliberately distort information the American people and Congress needed to make vital decision regarding national security and in so doing has perpetrated a fraud on the whole country. A lie might not be a crime, however, a fraud is...every time.
Some have suggested that ending the war in Iraq before "victory"...whatever that means...is achieved, will mean that all those who have died will have died in vain. On the contrary, they will have died in vain if those who sent them to their most tragic and needless death are allowed to escape the justice those who subvert the laws of this country deserve. A nation that turns its back on criminal behavior by those in the highest offices of the land forfeit their claim to the freedom our patriots died to protect.
I have read much on the subject of impeachment, participated in lengthy discussions with peers and foes, commented on blogs and generally paid attention to the political pulse of this action.
What it comes down to for me is a pragmatic and idealist issue of the law and the enforcement of the rules of law in our land.
I do care for strategy.
I do care for caution, and picking the right battles to ensure the right outcomes.
But I care more about America and her soul, than any maneuvers to guarantee power. Without the base respect and enforcement of our laws to the highest levels of our representative government, what do we have left? Not a democracy. Not America...Something less than America.
Now that Clinton finally has his dander up, he needs to keep up with it. As is properly documented, the Bush administration did little or nothing about Bin Laden, and in fact, according to Dick Clarke, Rice and the bunch seemed to be clueless about Al Qaeda in the months leading up to 9/11. Now they claim they were all over it. As Bush would attempt to call it, revisionist history.
Clinton has been too, too nice to these people, hanging out with Bush Sr., playing nice, not roasting them. NOW he needs, for the good of his country and his party, to stay on the message, and not melt politely into the background again.
