I just returned from a free PUMA safari, and it was awesome. I found out that many on this safari were never really big supporters of HRC, and are now rationalizing their confusion with the New York Senator. I know I am going to get blasted . . . if anyone even reads this, BUT I do think it is important to cover all our bases in this election. That means keeping tabs on NQ, His44, and the new home for our favorite boycotter of DKOS. This is important, because if they are working against the idea of President Obama . . . then they are working for a President McCain.
Here are some samplings of what I bagged on the safari:
. . .I'm not done fighting for my party - not even close. I will not let a bunch of thugs and bullies chase me away from something I've fought loyally and passionately for these past 35 years or more. But unless Obama, Howard Dean and the rest of our so-called Party leadership wise up and make it clear that Hillary's name will be put up for nomination, and that a roll call vote WILL be held at our convention, they may find that more than 24% of us refuse to back Obama if he comes out of Denver as our nominee. . . . (Foreman)keeps talking about Hillary's loss in this election but last time I checked, we still need to make things official at a little thing called a convention in August. Until then nobody's got this nomination locked down.- June 27-28
This is my first diary at MyDD. Todays events have compelled me to speak about my feelings regarding the candidate I have loyally and fiercely supported for oh so long now.
Yes, "the end is near." But what I mean by that is the end of the primary contest is upon us, and we will have our nominee in a matter of days now. First and foremost, I believe Hillary should accept the decision of the RBC, and move on to the final phase of the campaign which is the last remaining primaries, the last remaining superdelegates committing, one way or the other, and the winner emerging. It is apparent that the winner of our historic primary contest to become the Democratic nominee and the next President of the United States will be Barack Obama. I accept that, and I turn the page...
"It was Soviet troops that liberated Auschwitz, so unless his uncle was serving in the Red Army, there's no way Obama's statement yesterday can be true," said Republican National Committee spokesman Alex Conant. "Obama's frequent exaggerations and outright distortions raise questions about his judgment and his readiness to lead as commander in chief."

The above is a confident statement from a confident American political operative, working for a jittery party that senses its own demise. Desperate for any political traction, they grasped today upon Obama's mis-statement that his relative liberated Auschwitz, and not Buchenwald.
For this small historical gaffe, the GOP would have us infer that Barack Obama is not fit to be President of the United States.
But what is the greater gaffe, mislabeling one of several Nazi concentration camps, or misunderstanding the lessons of the Holocaust as our country stumbles, and trips, and reaches for light straws of hope as we seek to restore our moral authority as the world's leader on human rights after the abuses at Abu Ghirab and the ongoing detention of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay?
That's right - "Halliburton is an American success story..."
I could hardly believe that is what Dan Deline (Vice President, Government Affairs for Halliburton) wrote to me recently. It appears my candidacy for US Congress has alarmed the corporate bigwigs at Halliburton so much that they were compelled to write me a warning letter to not criticize them (to read the full copy of the Halliburton letter click here).
It seems my efforts to shine a light on the use of armed corporate mercenaries in Iraq and the corruption and waste within contracting operations in Iraq, has struck a nerve with Halliburton's Washington, DC, special interest lobbying apparatus.
The most interesting claim they make in their letter is, "We can find no contract between the Federal Government and Halliburton."
11-year-old gives $440 to Clinton campaign
By BRAD DAVIS (AP)
Associated Press
(snip)When Hatfield presented former President Bill Clinton with a check for $440 after Friday's rally at the Williamson Fire Station, the man who was once the leader of the free world seemed to nearly come to tears.
"You sold your bike to get this?" Clinton asked the McAndrews, Ky. native.
The reply was "yes" and a whole lot more.
Hatfield feels so strongly that Hillary Clinton should be the next president he not only sold his bicycle, but video games and anything else he could find that "I could make money with" to donate to the former first lady's bid for the Democratic nomination.
"I was thinking one day how could I make money for the campaign," he says. "And I just went through my closet and found things I didn't need."
(snip)The result was a donation that for the most part left the former president, who is known as a great communicator, speechless.
Dear Jerome,
I understand, Hillary has lost and it is hard to deal with. I remember in 2004 how distraught I was when John Edwards wasn't going to be the nominee but after a couple of weeks I moved on and made sure that the nominee, John Kerry had my full support. With that said, what is your problem? No seriously what is going on with you?
Let me bring you up to speed with reality.
You claim that Hillary will win the popular vote at the end of the season. I'm sorry Jerome that is just not correct. Maybe you forgot about all those caucus states that don't keep a record of the popular vote. If those were primaries, Obama would be ahead by over a million votes as Hillary had no plans after Super Tuesday. Currently, he is ahead by 800K votes and when states finish counting provisional ballots like Ohio did in which he closed the gap by 2%, he will increase his popular vote lead. There is still a chance that he might actually win Indiana as Hillary currently leads by less than 1%. I would also invite you to start reading El Nuevo Dia which is the prominent Puerto Rican newspaper and things aren't looking so good for Hillary in Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans don't like losers and won't vote for them no matter what you tell them.
As for your dubious popular vote argument. Wait, don't the Democrats select nominees based on delegates? Of course they do and they always have. No, the popular vote will not be a valid metric because you will end up disenfranchising those in caucus states. I know that disenfranchising voters is alright in caucus states but not MI and FL. You are entitled to your opinion but it is not based on any facts.
Finally, I think your main argument that Hillary would be more electable is because of the states that she would carry. Did you not notice that her map to victory is the exact same map that Democrats have used in the last two cycles? Please keep in mind that she would have to hold onto all of the Kerry states and win Ohio and/or Florida. The problem with that is she is polling weak in WA, OR, MI,MN which are states that we also need. Furthermore, should she become the nominee, she won't win because you need African-Americans to come out in droves which they won't. If you don't believe me take a look at recent polling form Rasmussen and Bloomberg. On the other hand, Obama is very strong in those states as well as other western states and Virginia is very much in play. I know you are going to say that it's the south and the south isn't ready for a black president even though they had a black governor but that's not the point. The point is that you are doing a severe disservice to your readers when you let your own blind hatred for Obama cloud your reasonable judgment.
It's time Jerome to come back down to earth. It's okay to mourn Hillary's loss but there is no reason for you to spew hatred towards the democratic nominee. If you need a shoulder to cry on, just ask.
Signed,
Sweet Potato Pie
Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, it does.
For the longest time, SNL was her champion - now they've had it.
They're really, ahem, ahem,... ANGRY with Hillary.
This is a just a willllllld guess, but I think it's cuz of something she said (D'Oh!!).
Caution: your ribs will hurt from the laughter.

► When you're lost Tina Fey, you're done. Is there anyone left?
Hills can kiss her Vice Presidential ambitions goodbye.
seriously its that simple. if you are over the age of 13 then grow up and stop using terms like "Obamabot" or "Clintonista" and also can we drop the whole "well they started it argument"
seriously months into this primary and I am just done, I am 24 years old and the fact I have to actually tell a bunch of 30, 40 and even 50 year olds to grow up is just sad.
did no one here have parents that taught em the golden rule? does no one here have kids? do you people really accept the "well they started it" argument from your kids?
grow up, if you can't treat people with basic level respect then be prepared to be treated like a child.
but honestly its pathetic that I can't go anywhere on the internet anymore and find Adults talking. its just a bunch of juvenile infants everywhere
"you are an Obamabot"
"you're delusional!"
"you're a kool-aid drinker"
"well they started it"
"no they started it"
"shut up"
"no you shut up"
its embarrassing to watch people probably twice my age, act like they are half my age.
is basic common courtesy that hard?
