Today Drudge Report ran the headline "'Black national anthem' stirs controversy in Denver..." Drudge linked to a video hosted a Breitbart.tv, that has received intensely racist feedback. Companies, including Microsoft advertise on that site and should be made aware.

The more we work to defeat this horrible candidate the less traction we seem to be able to get. It's time we reviewed some of our tactics and discussed new, more effective ones. During the primary, we tried to paint him as an inexperienced, ineffective liberal. That didn't seem to work. The fools voted for him anyway. It's time for something new.

The biggest problem we are having is that Barry won't stand still and let us smear him. We'll make up a new smear about him, like throwing Clark under the bus and then he'll do or say something that makes us look stupid. Well, I'm tired of looking stupid. Aren't you?

At first, we tried to say he was weak. Then he built a powerful campaign machine that beat Hillary, so our "he's too weak" claims had to be discarded. The next step was to claim he was "too good of a politician". That gave him too much credit so our new claim is that he is a 'typical' politician who was schooled in the rough-and-tumble Chicago school of politics. Please stay with this meme until we can come up with a new one.

McCain campaign pulls ads from some anti-Obama web sites

WASHINGTON (CNN) - John McCain's campaign will stop advertising on several pro-Hillary Clinton Web sites that have attacked Barack Obama for being unpatriotic and, in one case, compared the Democratic nominee-in-waiting to Adolf Hitler. . . .

One Web site, called Stop-Obama.org, is a group blog comprised of disaffected Clinton supporters, some of whom are now supporting McCain. Three different banners ads, one of which featured McCain standing side-by-side with Sen. Joseph Lieberman, were running on the site until Monday.

The stuff those noble progressives in PUMA say about Obama below the fold.

Every time I come to mydd I see at least one diary complaining about sexism.  Hillary is a woman, the argument goes. And Hillary lost. Ergo, Hillary must have lost because she's a woman.  While I would argue that there were several excellent reasons to oppose Hillary, I still agree that it's inevitable that any woman running for the presidency would have been faced with sexism.  However considering that Hillary was white and her main opponent was African American, the argument that she was the one discriminated against flies out the window.

When William Jefferson Clinton was elected president, I was still a young girl living with parents who were determined (especially my father) to instill in me a love for the Republican Party, and a sneering disdain for Democrats in general. I grew up around Right wing radio and Fox News (first launched in 1996). I was supposed to detest Bill Clinton and scoff at his wife. I remember when Hillary made her infamous "baking cookies" remark and did her amusing impression of Tammy Wynette's accent. I remember because I giggled delightedly and beamed at her - and because my father chastised me immediately. But I liked her, and I couldn't help it - and at the time, I liked Bill even more. When my father asked me who I wanted for president, I told him I wanted "the friendly one," much to his dismay. As the 1992 election results rolled in, I sat directly in front of the TV with an irrepressible grin on my face, while my parents emitted exasperated sighs from the other side of the room.

Well, aside from the obvious.

Turns out he's a racist.

Like our friend Geraldine Ferraro, Nader is stuck in the past, and has certain expectations of a black politician:

There's only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate. He's half African-American," Nader said. "Whether that will make any difference, I don't know. I haven't heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What's keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn't want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We'll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards."

Let's look at his remarks a little more closely.

I think we already are seeing the GOP strategy against Barack Obama.  It seems it will be difficult to paint Obama as an "out of touch elitist", a man with "questionable ties", or a person "who doesn't love his country".  Thanks to a hard fought primary between two of the best Presidential candidates in decades, many of the "issues" about Barack Obama have already surfaced and have been analyzed, debated and MSM'd out.

His San Francisco remarks, Jerimiah Wright, Tony Rezko, flag pins, and Bill Ayers just won't have the same shocking effect anymore.  Sure they will be used in 527's, by Faux News, and will be listed as "talking points" by the GOP, but the effectiveness will be limited.  The American public does not like "old news", they thrive for something new and want something to hang their hat on.

Well, the GOP thinks they have found it...Michelle Obama.

We've had some navel-gazing discussions over sexism here in the past few days. To all those who participated, I think we can agree that the Republican party needs to answer for its supporters who would create things like this:

Please call, write, or e-mail the Texas Republicans to express your displeasure over this most recent example of that party's institutional racism.
