John McCain has prided himself time and again on his, "straight talk," and his no-nonsense attitude when answering questions and delivering policy. In fact, one of his largest complaints about Barack Obama is Barack's tendency to make opaque and unclear generalizations regarding his plans for the country:

To encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope. It is a platitude.

His unwavering commitment to specificity is precisely why his latest campaign produced web advertisement is so strikingly bold in it's content:

On Sep 6, 1989 Rep. Don Edwards, D-CA said that if then President George H. W. Bush's proposals for punishing drug users and expanding drug testing in the work place were passed into law then  ``American would become a police state.``

Well it passed almost unanimously I might add and Edwards proved to be a visionary because we do indeed live in a Police State. In fact it's far worse today than what the first President Bush pushed through 17 years ago. Due to the hysterical climate created by the Reagan-Bush drug war CA Rep. Edwards was one of the very few voices of reason left in Congress at the time.

A few days ago I posted a diary about how the failed War on Drugs was initially created just to target minorities for persecution. Today's topic reveals even further evidence that the failed War on Drugs has an undeniable racist agenda. In 1948 the National Film Board of Canada with the aid of drug experts from the Royal Mounted Police produced Drug Addict which was a 34 Minute long Documentary intended to help train Canadian law enforcement and medical professionals about drug addiction. This educational film was banned by the US Government in fact that Unconstitutional Censorship of this Canadian Documentary remains in effect even to this day nearly 60 years later.

Happy Independence Day my friends although with the NEO-CONS still in control there truly isn't very much to be cheerful about. I wasn't much of a conspiracy theorist kind of person until a Rolling Stone article kind of got me interested in revisiting the JFK Assassination. In addition to that story some other recent sources also seem to be confirming a sinister plot as a matter of fact a conspiracy very similar to the storyline of the 1991 Oliver Stone Movie JFK.

This week when Nativists successfully blocked the Immigration Bill in the Senate it brought back to mind an earlier time in our nations history when like minded Nativists passed laws banning the use of marihuana to target the Mexican immigrants for expulsion.

It's past time to end this 100+ year multi-trillion dollar failed fiasco. If it(the failed war on drugs) hasn't worked by now it's not ever going to. Since the beginning of time there has always been and always will be drug users whether they are legal or illegal it doesn't matter.

I'm sick of hearing the NEO-CON's crying over Scooter Libby going to prison especially when we have 2.2 Million other American's already behind bars the majority of which are non-violent drug offenders. Scooter Libby would have recieved probation if he had only shown any remorse for his actions but instead he acted like the cocky little NEO-CON twerp that he is.
