Krugman asks: Is Obama Ad Misrepresenting My Words?

Today, on his blog, Paul Krugman called out the Obama campaign for an ad that has been running in North Carolina and Indiana.

Is Obama misrepresenting what I said?

I wrote on Krugman's views on the gas tax holiday last week:

Paul Krugman: Barack Obama is right on gas tax holiday.

Krugman criticized the McCain plan as "a giveaway to oil companies, disguised as a gift to consumers."

He said this about the Clinton plan:

The Clinton twist is that she proposes paying for the revenue loss with an excess profits tax on oil companies. In one pocket, out the other. So it's pointless, not evil. But it is pointless, and disappointing.

After the fold, the Krugman's comments asking for a retraction of the use of his words in an Obama ad.

[Updated w/Link] Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi...Picks up 5 new Pledged Delegates.

This is going to be brief but I have seen similar diaries by Obama supporter when he picks up a couple of delegates here and there through revised book-keeping. So let's applaud Hillay Clinton now when erased Obama's gain in Mississippi within a day with such ease! An AP Newsflash about an hour ago tells us the following: Sen. Barack Obama picked up five more delegates than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Mississippi's Democratic primary Tuesday. But Clinton erased the gain Wednesday after final election results became available from a couple of Super Tuesday contests. ... Obama won the primary with more than 60 percent of the vote, according to unofficial returns. But Clinton was able to hold down Obama's delegate gains by winning one of the state's four congressional districts. Obama carried the other three. Clinton eliminated the gain when she picked up delegates based on final results from the New York primary and the Colorado caucuses, both of which were held Feb. 5. Clinton gained four delegates in Colorado and one delegate in New York.

Update [2008-3-12 23:14:32 by ScottinNJ]: Link to the AP story is here. As pointed out in the comments she apparently also picked up 3 new super delegates
