HRC got a SD endorsement today!

HRC got a SD endorsement today!

http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/05/ superdelegate-endorsements-for-thursday_ 22.html

Guam Democratic Party Chair Pilar Lujan said today:

"After taking a close look at the candidates in this race, I was more impressed by Senator Clinton's ability to meet the challenges of the presidency: end the war, re-invigorate the economy, and provide universal health care...When she becomes the first woman president, she will think of the people of Guam and their aspirations."

Nice to see that HRC can still marshall support from the Democratic party Superdelegates given that Obama is only 61 delegates from the nomination. I like the positive language in her quote ("when she becomes the first woman president"!)

It is also good for HRC that, despite Obama's Oregon win and the fact that the media and pundits have tagged him as the presumptive nominee the SDs have been relatively frozen the last two days.

Oguama

It's official, folks. Barack Obama has won Guam by the 7 votes decided last week.

Guam is a TIE for Hillary and Obama!!!

Obama was leading with 5 percent, but waiting for the 2nd largest village of Dededo to report.

They did.  They too overwhelmingly went to Hillary.

Village of Dededo
Hillary Clinton 509
Barack Obama 313

Guam Primary: Obama 50.1, Clinton 49.9 !!!

The final results are in.

Obama 50.1

Clinton 49.9

What a squeaker, but this is still encouraging since Obama was supposed to win by 11%

Obama actually won by seven votes. This should be a sobering lesson to all of us regarding the importance of our votes. This is as close to a tie as one can get. Indiana and Noth Carolina Clinton supporters get on the telephine and GOTV for her. This is indeed momentum.

Barack Obama - the common guy

So he's pandering after all! I really start liking him.

UPDATED! Obama winning Guam! Unbeatable momentum!

CNN has Obama winning Guam by 6% as of this moment.

If Obama wins in Guam, how will Clinton justify staying in the race?  Why can't she close the deal?

Guam is clearly a valuable territory of the United States; they were a crucial refuelling station during World War II.  These good citizens are clearly an excellent judge of character, and their choice of Obama speaks volumes about the national mood and his electability.

Clinton supporters, how do you think your candidate can possibly respond to this loss credibly?

Guam: Open Thread (UPDATE)

An estimated 3,000 Guamanians have casted their votes for their choice for the Democratic nominee.  Up for grabs is 8 delegates (which get a half vote) added with 5 super delegates means this tiny island will be sending 9 delegates.  Since it is an open caucus and will have a significant impact, many of the tropical islander are registering as Democrats.

Have the candidates overlooked Guam? Hardly.

Barack has a campaign office and Hillary did a live telecast:

There are reports of long lines and ballots are being tabulated as we speak:

No Pander Left Unturned

In a craven political pander today Senator Hillary Clinton pledged voting rights to Guam. As reported by Jack Tapper:
