Gallup: Obama up by 3! Kicking A!

Gallup's latest national tracking poll shows Obama leaving McCain in the dust.

Obama 46% McCain 43%.

Well he's not my candidate but it's pretty clear he will win in a landslide.

Happy Friday night all!

Gallup on Clinton & Obama in GE

Apologies if this has been posted already.   I just saw it, and any case it's worth repeating as the DNC and MSM increase their frantic drumbeat to get Obama the nomination before everyone wakes up and smells the coffee.

If Democrats actually want to hold the White House (which historically, for Democrats, has never been entirely clear), then Gallup's article should give them pause:

Americans Favor President Meeting With U.S. Enemies

This is the result of a Gallup survey published today:

Large majorities of Democrats and independents, and even half of Republicans, believe the president of the United States should meet with the leaders of countries that are considered enemies of the United States. Overall, 67% of Americans say this kind of diplomacy is a good idea.

Among Democrats 79% think it's a good idea to meet with leaders of foreign countries considered as enemies of the US (with 19% thinking it's a bad idea). 70% of Independents believe it's a good idea and so do 48% of Republicans.

The poll was conducted May 19-21, so this is four to six days after Bush criticized the policy at the Israel's Knesset and McCain attacked Obama on the issue. This prompted a strong response from Obama as well as Clinton and other Democrats.

Hillary's Swing State Advantage

The Obama camp contends that Clinton's performance in the primaries is not indicative of her performance in the general election.

A new Gallup study suggests otherwise:

Swing states won by Clinton, excluding Florida and Michigan:

Swing states won by Clinton, including Florida and Michigan:

The analysis:

In the 20 states where Hillary Clinton has claimed victory in the 2008 Democratic primary and caucus elections (winning the popular vote), she has led John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily trial heats for the general election over the past two weeks of Gallup Poll Daily tracking by 50% to 43%. In those same states, Barack Obama is about tied with McCain among national registered voters, 45% to 46%.

In contrast, in the 28 states and the District of Columbia where Obama has won a higher share of the popular vote against Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primaries and caucuses, there is essentially no difference in how Obama and Clinton each fare against McCain. Both Democrats are statistically tied with him for the fall election.

The Gallup study directly supports Clinton's assertion that she will be a stronger general-election candidate against John McCain in crucial battleground states, based on her primary election performance.  Obama, on other hand, cannot claim a similar advantage.

Gallup Daily: Clinton Maintains Lead Over McCain

Tracking from April 30 to now, May 24, shows Hillary's continuous strength to be able to win the Presidency.

Obama has a 16 point lead in the Gallup poll vs. Hillary

I don't know how to post the image of the graph (assistance anyone?), but it looks like the electorate is also moving towards the idea that Obama is our man.  This is the biggest lead he has had in this poll!

Obama Grows Lead in Gallup..2 More SD's

Barack Obama has extended his lead over Hillary Clinton in the current Gallup Poll for the Democratic Nomination.  It appears Obama's brief struggles in the poll over the Wright debacle has passed.  Many thought this would be the "game breaker" that would show Obama as "unelectable".

Obama  50
Clinton 45

Today's Gallup Poll along with the Rasmussen Poll shows Obama ahead.  The Wright furor seems to be behind him.
