Kucinich will try to get Bush impeached again on Thursday...

I think we all have to have a great deal of respect for Dennis Kucinich who has tried time and again to have Bush impeached for truly obvious misdeeds. He has faced Nancy Pelosi's "no impeachment" position and has added to his following in single Congressional digits every time (Pelosi doesn't even want Karl Rove brought to justice for ignoring a Congressional warrant from Conyers' committee).

Kucinich just put out this letter in response to the revelations by the Pentagon that we got into Iran due to a lie which Bush was aware of. Instead of bringing 35 charges, he is bringing only one... maybe the rest of Congress can absorb one issue.

How the Battle was Lost

One thing Progressives have constantly been up in arms about since we helped the Democrats win back Congress in 2006 is the FISA fight. Many of us think that this bill was completely unneccesary, and that it was a bad idea. It wasn't that we needed new, broad ranging powers for the Federal Government to keep us safe, we just needed a competent administration in place to use laws already in place to protect us. That is what failed us on that terrible day of 9-11-01.

Calling All Impeachment Supporters!

If you are a registered Democrat, living in New York State and believe that Bush and Cheney deserve to be impeached, this may be your last, best chance to get action. Adam Sullivan is challenging Rep. Jerrold Nadler for the right to represent the people of New York's 8th Congressional District.

Dennis Kucinich will be Talking About Impeachment - TODAY Friday 6/13

This is a slightly changed repost of an earlier diary.

Dennis Kucinich will be on Equal Time Radio this TODAY Friday the 13th from Noon to 1pm PDT / 3pm to 4pm EDT.  Now don't be afraid.   :)

He is fulfilling a promise he made months ago. He was supposed to be on the show but got tied up at a local event. So he promised to come on the show at a later date.

Well after Dennis Kucinich put forward his Articles of Impeachment, they figured NOW was a good time to have him on the show.

Equal Time Radio is a small local progressive talk show that is self funded. It is based in an area near Tacoma WA. Their show can be heard every Friday from Noon to 1pm PDT / 3pm to 4pm EDT and Dennis Kucinich will get the first half of the show.

Letter to a Senator, RE: Impeachment

I just wrote the following letter to my Democratic senator, Amy Klobuchar, regarding the Articles of Impeachment that that lovable leprichaun of a man, Dennis Kucinich, unleashed into the House of Representatives yesterday.

As Democrats, we all know in our hearts that the Bush administration has been corrupt from the start; but we're very cautious about doing anything about it; we figure that we can wait it out, fix things after Bush is done.

Well, I see the advantages of that, but if you'll humor me for a moment, I'll let you in on my argument that this shouldn't be ignored, that we'll be better off, both politically and ethically if we take this fight to Bush's doorstep.

BREAKING: Kucinich Introducing Articles of Impeachment in House!

Go to C-Span.

Feel free to use this as an open thread!

Whoa!

UPDATE: BIGTIME KUDOS to Kevin22262 in his posts, below, and for providing a link to all of Dennis Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment, as noted here: http://www.democrats.com/35-articles-of-impeachment

UPDATE #1 8:20PM EST:

Apparently he's reading 35 Articles of Impeachment. This could take a little while.

Which candidate had the best celebrity supporters? (w/poll)

Earlier this week, Ben Smith wrote a post about Barack Obama's prominent early supporters, who came on board when he was seen as having little chance of beating Hillary Clinton. Here is his list:

Senator Richard Durbin
Former Majority Leader Tom Daschle
Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller
Oprah Winfrey
Iowa Treasurer Mike Fitzgerald
Former Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Gordon Fischer
Ted Sorensen
Virginia Governor Tim Kaine
Alabama Rep. Artur Davis
New Hampshire Rep. Paul Hodes

Smith left out John and Jackie Norris, who in my opinion did more for Obama's campaign in Iowa than Tom Miller, Mike Fitzgerald and Gordon Fischer combined. (I explain why here.)

But that's not the point of this diary. It's Saturday night on a holiday weekend, so just for fun, I'm starting a discussion about which Democratic presidential candidate had the best celebrity supporters--that is, people famous outside the political realm.
