It's on the ballot!

Well, it took a while and hate-wing radio did it's best to demonize it and tried to make jokes about (and we all know how bad hate-wingers are at comedy, intentional comedy anyway) but it qualified for the ballot! See below for the full Monty

(07-17) 14:57 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco voters will be asked to decide whether to name a city sewage plant in honor of President Bush, after a satiric measure qualified for the November ballot Thursday.

Backers of the measure, who for several months circulated a petition to place the measure on the ballot, turned in more than 12,000 signatures on July 7, said organizer Brian McConnell. The Department of Elections on Thursday informed those supporters, the self-proclaimed Presidential Memorial Commission, that they had enough valid signatures - a minimum of 7,168 registered San Francisco voters - to qualify for the November ballot.

McConnell, who came up with the idea over beers with friends, often donned an Uncle Sam outfit to drum up support for the petition. The all-volunteer group of signature gatherers often carried around an American flag and blasted patriotic music from a boom box to attract attention. He said the campaign to pass the measure will be an equally grassroots effort.

Yes San Francisco may soon be the proud owner of the Dumbaya Shit Palace in all it's glory! Personally it will fill my heart with gladness every time I flush at work knowing it is going straight to the Bush plant. I think that alone will increase tourism to this city!

Could it be considered as an annex to the Bush Presidential library?

Just wonderiing

I think it's a good thing (2.00 / 4)

Barring true and honest prosecution of all of the criminals who have desecrated our country for the past eight years, we're going to need humor to just get by.

I think it's a net positive in terms of healing the nation.

Anyway they can design it with a Big Dubya Head, and the sewage going in his mouth?

That'd be cool!

Coming out his mouth would be more accurate for Bush, in ragrads both to what he says and his effect on the environment.

Good old SF (none / 0)

I used to live in the inner sunset and then the Inner Richmond.  I love SF more than any other city, if only they'd do something about that damn fog.

Re: It's on the ballot! (none / 0)

Good news. Once this facility is in operation,
could someone arrange a system which would allow
foreigners to ship their stuff to Frisco for
processing at the Dumbaya Shit Palace ? I'm sure
plenty of people would be glad to contribute from Old Europe.
