Obama will speak tonight-mark it well.

Tonight, Obama will speak as the nominee. Mark the moment.

Remember that first time as a kid when you had that stupid smile that stretched from ear-to-ear, and made your face feel painfully tight?

Remember the first time your parents praised you?
Remember the first time you helped someone, and felt good about it?
Remember the first time you did something better than you thought you would?
Remember the first time help came from where you didn't expect it?

Remember that first feeling when you opened your favorite Xmas present?
Remember that first A?
Remember that first C, the one you thought would be an F?
Remember that first kiss?
Remember that first "I love you?"
Remember that first view of your child?
Remember that first time you felt the world was getting better?

Remember where you are today-because you'll never want to forget it.
Remember where you are when you listen to Obama speak tonight.
Remember the feeling you'll have when he talks about what today means.

Tomorrow
Remember the Americans that didn't have that feeling today.

Remember that the work until November will be greater than the effort so far.

And remember that the joy in November will be that much greater.

Today was a good day. They'll be even better ones ahead.

Re: Why you destroy good language as English? n/t (none / 0)

I had my mother-in-law (who I adore) look at a few choice engels posts.

She was an ESL (English as a second language) teacher for over 30 years and saw all sorts of butchery of the mother tongue.

She's never seen anything akin to this unique verbiage and doubts that this person is ESL.

Either engels is crazy or a very persistent troll.

It's not English deficiency, it's proficiency in Engelish.

No, I'm sure I'm not imagining things - your English has gotten worse.  How does that even happen?

Re: Obama will speak tonight-mark it well. (2.00 / 1)

I know it'll be painful for Clinton supporters, but I urge all of you to take a breath and listen to Obama tonight. Not as an opponent, but as a fellow democrat. I urge you to watch as progressives who are passionate about changing this country for the better. I urge you not only as Clinton supporters, but supporters of all that Hillary Clinton has worked for and stood for throughout her career.

I know you were hoping to hear the acceptance speech of the first female presidential nominee. I know that disappointment is deep and heartfelt, and may be nearly unbearable at this point. But don't let that disappointment diminish your American pride at watching the first African American accept the nomination of the democratic party.
