Who is faking what? Maybe some clarification?

   Now the "demand" is to have her name put up for nomination. Out of respect, of course. The instant that happens, mark my words, the convention devolves into a floor fight. Her rabid supporters, numerically outnumbered and O-so heartfelt, will grab every spotlight they can, we'll be treated to Slick Willy attempting to wade back into it with his Elder Statesman routine, and they will all do their level best to negate as much post-convention bounce as possible, all with an eye on 2012. I know I'm not the only person here suffering from Clinton exhaustion...

And no triage does not mean hurt or harm.  Just quarantine, I guess.

I always knew she was a McCain plant from the get go.  All she did was cause confrontation and discord.  

No she won't.  Anyone still pushing the Larry Sinclair story deserves every bit of scorn possible.

It's TexasDarlin (oddly enough from SoCal) who has latched onto the birth certificate nonsense.  She and a small group of followers (dare I say cult?) seem to believe they are master sleuths digging out the truth about Obama.  I guess they're having fun but it's not a very productive hobby.

But on another level she's working against the acknowledged presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, and thus she is the opponent of Democrats.  Given that she still has some influence (albeit not nearly as much as she did when Sen. Clinton was still in the race), I think there's a level at which what she says needs to be countered.

Moreover, I think it's very easy for Clinton supporters (whether or not they support Obama now that he is the presumptive nominee) to not see the extent to which Alegre became a ringleader for a very offensive wing of Clinton supporters who continually trashed, in the most vile and insulting terms, not only Sen. Obama but also his supporters.  There's a lot of bad blood there, and the fact that she hasn't committed to supporting Obama as Sen. Clinton has simply confirms in the minds of many Obama supporters (whether rightly or wrongly) that she doesn't have the best interests of the Democratic Party or the progressive movement at heart.

In other words, Alegre chose early on in this campaign to become a figurehead for Clinton's supporters in general, and as such in the past few weeks has become a symbol for those Clinton supporters who have let their anger (whether well-placed or misplaced) over Sen. Clinton's not winning the nomination overwhelm their commitment to the Party and the cause of progressivism.

I just read this, and I think the diary was praising her. I consider 'calling out' a term used for negative attacks. This was a fairly mild diary.

Seeing as this isn't the 1860's and we're not trying to recover from the civil war.

Yep, there movement needs to be infiltrated by Barr/Paul followers. Any discussion of voting for McCain only exposes his campaign's blatant pandering to the PUMAs.

I've got the radio turned on. President McCain is about to give his first press conference after his inauguration earlier in the week. They're saying he's planning on talking about his legislative initiative for the first hundred days, but that's okay.

I mentioned I'm driving; it's expensive. Gas prices are now over five bucks a gallon and going higher. McCain in his inauguration announced a bold new initiative to lower gas prices -- building a long-term base in Iraq, near the border with Iran.

Ther's nothing better than getting back at the people who made your life a living hell.  Jam it to them, I say!

Hey, if my son will be fighting age during McCain's tenure, so what?  I'm OK with nursing him for the rest of his life when he gets our of Walter Reid with the bullet still lodged in his brain.  Every parent likes the idea of their children never leaving home, and if it makes Olberman suffer then so be it!

The press conference comes on. The first question is about reports that one of the liberal members of the Supreme Court is in poor health and is about to retire. McCain wishes the justice well, and promises to seek a replacement that is in keeping with the constitutional traditions of the country.

I figure he means someone to the right of Roberts and Alito. Something like that.

My daughters will go through puberty during the McCain era, but it's all good.  Young parenthood teaches tough lessons that will serve them well in life, and as one of the fortunate who will probably be able to afford the short trip to Mexico we can still get an abortion if we need it.  The instruments will probably be sterile, anyway.

Anything to make Matthews cry, is what I say! Got get'em, you Handsome Gent, you!

Maybe in part because of my apathy, John McCain won the November election.

But that's okay -- because I sure showed Barack Obama.

And now he's the one paying the price.

Hey, and if I run into you on the street and we get to talking and realize we discussed this, here, way back when, and I snap under the realization that you actively worked to leave Donna and I to spoon feed our son into our elderly years, that you labored to let our daughter bleed to death in a Tijuana back-alley "clinic", that you strove to leave our surviving daughter to drop out of school to work in a McDonald's to help her parent's pay their bills - it will be nothing to pay for the joy of seeing those media folks blush with the realization of how foolish they were.  I'll probably get out in a few years and can get back to helping Donna change Damien's diapers again, anyway.

God damn that Obama Man.
