The New York Post smears Governor Paterson

David Paterson (D-NY), Governor of all New Yorkers, is being smeared by The New York Post, which on June 16th had a front-page, anonymously-sourced rumor disguised as news, claiming without evidence that Paterson once called mayor Bloomberg "a liar" and "nasty".

Paterson immediately denied it, yet Murdoch's rag still had the balls to scold Paterson in a second article by the same author, for denying what Mr. Anonymous supposedly said.

Indeed, even Mayor Bloomberg, the alleged target of Paterson's angry discharge, is skeptical about the allegations, reports the New York Sun:

Mr. Bloomberg, in a separate news conference in the city, said he wasn't fazed by the alleged remarks, and said he was confident that such insults couldn't have come from the governor.

Howard Kurtz timidly mentioned this in today's Washington Post.

If you are against the use of such evidence-free, anonymously-sourced journalism, contact the author, and defend a good Democrat: fredric.dicker@nypost.com

That's too bad.  The original story was really juicy!

Re: The New York Post smears Governor Paterson (none / 0)

The New York Post is owned by Rupert Murdoch and is another one of his multi-billion dollar donations to right wing propaganda.

The media does not take these papers (washing times, nypost) seriously at all.

Washington Times, another 3 billion loss to push propaganda for the Moonie Cult and their chosen party.

You can count on both these "papers" to smear Democrats 24/7.

If they don't they get fired?

The media doesn't take the New York Post seriously?  Here's just the first counterexample that comes to mind.

In addition... (2.00 / 2)

...maybe this is why we shouldn't praise Republican outlets like the NYP and FOX NEWS while denigrating Democrats and progressives like the Daily Kos and Keith Olbermann.

Re: In addition... (none / 0)

FW,  I have seen alot of Fox News sword swallowing on this site.

Never saw love for NYP,  what smear did they push that was lauded on here.

I really don't know and would like to know.
thanks.

Re: In addition... (none / 0)

I don't think there's been praise of NYP individually, but it is part of the Murdoch empire, which is spearheaded by Fox. When Democrats lend support to Fox News, they help prop up all of Murdoch's other enterprises. We lose the right to complain when another arm of the hydra comes back to bite us in the bum!

Re: In addition... (2.00 / 2)

Fw, dont take that as questioning, I had a serious curiosity as I am always facinated how the HRC bloggers seemed to gravitate more and more to Murdoch's propaganda outlets.

One thing we all GOTTA LOVE is how many billions of dollars each conservative "media" outlet looses.

Nothing makes me happier.

Fox Business news, runs at a total loss.

Washington Times, losses in the hundreds of millions, never turned a profit.

I wish I had some numbers, because those numbers are great.

Its sad though since Rev Moon, who runs the cult that owns the Washington Times uses "forced labor" as many cults do to fill their coufers.

It is easy to assume that those poor people he has enslaved are paying for that right wing propaganda.
