I wrote the bulk of this diary a few days ago but since today is the MN blogosphere's day to beg for money for Steve I am reposting this.
Steve is a qualified candidate for this position. He has served as a Mayor of Watertown and as a city administrator in Watertown and Victoria. That is more governmental experience than John Kline had when he ran for and won this seat against Bill Luther. Like Kline he is a veteran only Sarvi understands the current war as he served in it. You can check out the rest of his bio here:

Now onto the issues, Steve has a very good stance on immigration as he favors working with other countries to minimize the problem, crack down on employers and work out humane solutions for the immigrants.

He favors expanding SCHIP which is very good:

and is dead right on transportation (a major issue as lots most of the residents of the 2nd work in Minneapolis/St. Paul):

He also makes his opponents less than stellar record available here:

Let me just say that is is really ugly, almost as bad as Michelle Bachmann's, and that is saying something.
Compared to Kline, Sarvi is the next Paul Wellstone...
He recently spoke at the MN DFL convention (On Friday)
(h/t to The Big E at mnblue for the text: http://mnblue.com/steve+sarvi+dfl+conven
tion+speech)
"My first day in Iraq, I got out of my Humvee, slammed the door and it fell off," Steve said after introducing himself. "Donald Rumsfeld said that you don't go to war with the army that you want to have, you go to war with the army you've got. Well, when you abandon your soldiers, you gotta go on the record. My opponent John Kline has gone on the record for abandoning the troops and the veterans. Vets are not getting the healthcare or benefits they deserve."George W. Bush, Norm Coleman and John Kline created this surge. We're going to create our own surge. It will be a clean sweep. We're going to sweep Washington clean of those special interests. Instead of saying 'Yes We Can!', we'll be saying 'Show Me How!'.
"We are going to make John Kline history this year."
"John Kline hides from his constituents. It took a petition to get him to meet with voters. This is no surprise because he is one of the most conservative, most radical of the Representative not just in MN, but in Congress, too."
"He has a 39% approval rating. This isn't surprising as he leaves vets behind while allowing war profiteers to make billions of dollars of profits. He voted against insuring poor kids [SCHIP] while at the same time getting large campaign contributions from the drug companies."
"I'll put my years of service as mayor of Watertown and as city administrator of Lanesboro, Victoria and Watertown as well as my military service in Iraq and Kosovo up against his five years of supporting George Bush's policies."
"I won't be able to be here tomorrow or Sunday as I'll be St. Paul training my soldiers. But let's make today the beginning of the end of the war. Some of us went to war over and over and over and over. Instead, today let's start building for the future. Let's start building a better future."
Read that again he tears Bush and Kline a new orifice. And he has good positions and is a great candidate for the district. He can win if he ties Kline to Bush and presents himself as different, but he needs money to do so. He is the best candidate running in this district since it came into existence in 2002. With your help Steve Sarvi can send John Kline back to Crawford (he was originally from Texas) with his best buddy George W. Bush. If you have the lucre consider throwing a five-spot ($5) or more to Steve here:
