Here are a couple of shots of Hillary's Puerto Rico caravan I wrote about earlier. I caught it as it was arriving at its last stop in San Juan Saturday night. I have a couple kick-ass videos, complete with Spanish "Hillary Clinton" songs blaring from a couple of the vans, but YouTube doesn't want to upload it right now. Hopefully later, it's pretty sweet.

What else is going on?

To address the racist content of the second video in this diary:

"Inadequate black guy" is hate speech that is not appropriate for this site.

Re: Need a moderator (1.50 / 2)

Uh huh....

We are awfully sensitive today. Could it because now America can see there is no difference between the two parties in large part because of what 'Obama wants Obama gets'?

I respectfully disagree with your characterization of this women's words.

Thus I too am a racist.

Have I got that right?

People can now see for themselves what they are getting in Obama as a candidate.

A Republican.

Good luck with that against McSame.

Are you serious? (2.00 / 1)

Calling someone an "inadequate black male" is racist, hate speech.  Don't try and cover it up in indignation. it is what it is and it's ugly.

I agree it is racist, hate speech.  I hope you will also join me in agreeing that "entitled white woman" is also racist, hate speech

I think we can all agree... (none / 0)

that both statements are hateful, and neither candidate has used language like that.  We should not make decisions about what candidate to support based on what the worst of their supporters do.  If  you are going to decide that way, you should then hang out on the rightwing blogs for a while... that will at least cure you of any thought of voting Republican.

Re: Need a moderator (none / 0)

Um... tough call. I don't think it's specifically intended to be racist (that is, she calls Obama inadequate, but I don't think it's tied to race). I'll be honest, I'm always a little bit more lenient with senior citizens before I conclude racism because I know language evolves faster than people.

It's anti-Democratic, for sure, but I'm not sure if pulling it down is necessary. It's documentation of what happened at an event (it's not staged or anything) and, to be honest, the more I watched that, the more crazy she becomes.

To recount:

  1. Obama was only running because Hillary was running (:30)
  2. Something about not being able to call people "black"? Don't really know what she was talking about without context.
  3. Awkward "am I the only one clapping" applause in the background (:40-45)
  4. Not a second class citizen, G-D the Democrats. (:45)
  5. Straight up paranoia (1:00)
  6. Claims that the convention was being held in secret (1:03)
  7. Got thrown down the tubes and is now nothing (she's actually from New York, not Florida or Michigan) (1:24)
  8. Is now voting for McCain (1:30)

Re: Need a moderator (none / 0)

How is it not related to race when the next word after inadequete is black?

She was just mentioning that so we knew who she was talking about?  Maybe she thought we were confused and maybe she was talking about Ron Paul?

Stands to reason, though... (2.00 / 1)

His time has to be better spent somewhere with voters who can help win in November, right?

Re: Stands to reason, though... (none / 0)

I was thinking about something related to this the other day.  If by some longshot Clinton got the nomination... does she even have system set up to run a general election campaign??  I mean she's in debt.  I don't think she has many offices open.  If she doesn't concede to Obama this week, what does she do until the convention??  Does she start her general election campaign as well? or just continue running around talking about the credentials committee and the convention?

It seems similar to her strategy of post-February 5th in that she really hasn't planned for anything past what she does today.

PEOPLE DONT VOTE FOR (none / 0)

People don't vote for someone who has the cash and logistical competence required to run a coherent general election campaign, they vote for the person who has crossed the commander in chief threshold.

Wait, what?
