Vote your principles

If Obama is ushered in as the democratic presidential candidate, let's all consider our principles when choosing who we vote of in the Nov election. When I use the word principle, I will remember how none of the DNC leaders spoke out against the disgusting sexism and misogyny directed towards one of their own, a startling and disappointing example of lack of loyalty, as one of the nominee was to be sacrificed. When the mass media  began the sexist rants, numerously chronicled, and began declaring Obama the winner, lets not forget how many of those Obama supporter's (Randy Rhodes, Olbermann, etc) joined in the character assassinations.  So my friends, you will have to choose between blind group loyalty as a principle and personal principle and we should ask ourselves whether we should reward those who sought to destroy someone we admire in a gloves off sexist, misogynistic assault. Those darrn principles, our core.

If your pain and hurt is more important than ending the war and protecting the entire nation's civil rights, then your principles are  worthless.

I'll go with Abe Lincoln: (none / 0)

I've asked about Jim Cooper at least (none / 0)

10 times here at MyDD and Obamaphiles ignore the question. Not one response - just crickets.

This guy is poison and they know it.

You are, indeed, judged by the company you keep...Rezko, Wright, Pfleger, Cooper, Ayers.

Not a glowing judgment is it?

Oh how easy it is to name controversial figures in people's past...Guilt by association at it's best...If this were the only metric used in determining a person's life we would all be dooooomed!!!

Thank goodness pessimistic people, like yourself, are few and far between.

Everyone had always told me!  My new house to gorgeous.  My clothes are pretty snazzy.  Even I do OK for myself.

So you're saying that because I was mistaken about his title, Jim Cooper is not/has not been associated with Obama and Obama's Not Universal Health Care Plan?

Obviously.  You're anti-choice because you're no longer personally invested in reproductive rights.  You're well-off, so now you support John McCain.

May you continue to be pampered in the style to which you are accustomed.

Re: Vote your principles (2.00 / 4)

You said in a comment in another diary "Yes of course Clinton should be placed as underling" and here you "defend" her. Somehow the two don't jibe.

Re: Vote your principles/shmiciples (1.50 / 2)

It's so pathetic that the Obamatan's only argument against HRC commentary on this site is that we're nothing but GOP trolls.  You Obamatans not only disrespected and abused our candidate at every turn, you insulted and alienated her supporters with your ideological zealotry.  Your side has spewed hate and intolerance throughout the primaries and now you expect HRC supporters to smile and fall in line.  Give me a break!  You guys sound like abusive husbands who are now angry cause we ain't buying your BS!

And to hear Howard Dean express on ABC his "heartfelt indignation" at the sexism and misogyny spewed at HRC throughout this primary is laughable!

Mr. Dean, if you as DNC Chair didn't feel the need to call off your misogynist dogs during this primary, why bother now?  Your new-found conscious is disingenuous and slimy.  Go away, you pathetic little man!

Re: Vote your principles/shmiciples (2.00 / 1)

It's not the only argument. In fact, it's not even the vast majority of the argument. Most Obama supporters on here are reasonable -- if passionate -- people, as are Hillary supporters.

By the way you say that you feel disrespected but then turn around and disrespect those same Obama supporters. Regardless of whether you have a legitimate beef or not is irrelevant since it diminishes your argument to use the very same 'zealotry' that you're railing against.

99.9% of Obama supporters don't have a sexist or misogynist bone in their bodies. But John McCain is hoping you see Obama and his supporters as the enemy, that's for sure.

LOL. (2.00 / 3)

If your principles lead you to vote for McCain, so be it.

The rest of the country will just see it for what it is, though: being a loyal Republican.

Sticks and stones . . . . HRC supporters will not allow themselves to be abused by you Obamatans. Kissing your candidate's ass is neither dignified nor honorable.  Your side has done NOTHING to deserve our respect or vote.

Re: LOL. (none / 0)

The irony of you speaking of respect whilst throwing the tantrum you are on this thread is delicious.

Thanks for my 4th 40th laugh of the day from a Hillary 'supporter' (ie: one whose behavior does NOTHING to actually support Hillary).

The vast majority of Hillary Supporters do her proud. You could learn something from them (starting with learning to voice your opinion without resorting to childish name calling).

Re: LOL. (none / 0)

Just to be extra sure that I am clear....I believe that there is, indeed, a HUGE difference between a Hillary 'supporter' and a Hillary Supporter. The latter actually supports Hillary Clinton! Whereas the 'supporters' only goal is to stir division within the Democratic Party....something Hillary herself would be ashamed to have done in her name.

i completely agree... (2.00 / 3)

if you have democratic principles, then you should vote for and support the democratic nominee.  if you have republican priniciples, then you should vote for and support the republican nominee.  but if the latter is true, you support mccain (regardless of the reason) then why are you here?

this site supports and helps democratic candidates.  if that mandate is against your principles, you should really take it elsewhere...

Re: Vote your principles (2.00 / 1)

What sort of principle underlies, "I don't like what Chris Matthews said about Hillary so I'm going to vote for McCain"?  C'mon, this is silly.  If Clinton's supporters have any doubt whom they should vote for (and I'll concede that's legitimate) I hope they'll tune into one hour of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Don Savage any day of the week.  That will bring you your moment of clarity.  And if you won't do this, well, the Limbaughs, Hannitys, and Savages of the world will still be there.
