Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week

Despite veiled threats to keep the race going by taking the Michigan compromise to the Democratic party's credentials committee or even to the party's convention in August, Clinton's team is already sounding out Obama about taking on some of her campaign staff and adopting some of her policy positions, particularly on health. Clinton would in turn endorse Obama and the two might appear together later this week.

Well, that's generally because you only post one sentence, over and over again.

It's nice to see some actual comments with your username, (although I'm sure you've posted something other than "Is This Snark?" in other diaries).

Hopefully, we'll hear more fully developed comments from you in the future.

Peace.

Re: really? (none / 0)

Saying peoples votes were not counted is saying that.

The votes of 1.7 million people should not be cast aside because of a technicality. The people who voted did nothing wrong, and it would be wrong to punish you. As the Florida Supreme Court said back in 2000, before the United States Supreme Court took the case away from them, as your Supreme Court said, it's not about the technicalities or about the contestants. It's about the will of the people. And whenever you can understand their intent, it should govern. It's very clear what 1.7 million people intended here in Florida. Playing a role in the nominating process in a two-party system is just as important as having a vote in the presidential election on Election Day count.

Deal with your candidates actions, don't pretend they didn't happen.

Diarist needs to do 1 or 2 things... (2.00 / 2)

1.) Take a journalism class;

2.) Change the headline.

Quoting from the British press about something that might happen, doesn't mean it should be presented as fact (i.e. the content of their headline states something which is supposed to be a fact; and it's far from that).

And, in fact, CNN Reporter Jessica Yellin, just moments from Puerto Rico, stated that Hillary will be in Washington D.C. on Wednesday lobbying the superdelegates hard for their support. That doesn't sound like Hillary's calling it quits this week, to me. That is, unless Obama makes her an offer she can't refuse.

She will go to Denver or run as independent. (1.00 / 5)

After what RBC did to her and after wins in WV, KY and PR it is clear she created a big movement.
There is no reason for her drop out or endorsed bad losing candidate.
I will be not surprise if she will run as independent: states which Obama "won" will mostly go to McCain, all other states will vote her.
For example, in MA she is winning 60-30 against McCain and Obama only wining by 13%:

Actually I heard the RFK assassination... (none / 0)

media blitz by the Obama campaign has actually hurt her and she considered it a game changer, but no one knows what that really means.

It's an election, not an auction.

If you mean that she thinks she can lie because of her own gaffe, I have way too much respect for her to believe that.

I'll vote for the democratic nominee in November,  whether it's Hillary or Obama.  I'm so excited to be a democrat!

-Engels, circa 2008

Engels is so right!  We should elect the dem nominee in November.  John McCain sucks balls!  Thanks for your pledge of support, Engels.  I'm glad you dislike John McCain as much as I do!

Um if she ran as an indie she and obama would split the vote and mccain wins in  a landslide.

Re: She will go to Denver or run as independent. (none / 0)

In 3-way race in MA she will win C45-M30-O25 or better. Also check this:

Republican Agent Provocateur?

If I had to make a prediction right now, I'd say Barack Obama is going to be the next president.

I think that there are many Republicans around pretending to be Democrats to stir up some trouble.

They want Democratic disunity for November.

I don't know if I can support Obama.

Obama agrees with Hillary Clinton on just about every big issue and McCain disagrees with both of them.

I can't tell the difference between Obama and McCain.

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (none / 0)

common sense has it that clinton will make her case for the super delegates the earliest on Wednesday and ask the remaining sd to think this thing over slowly and carefully,  so i don't think this is going to be resolved this week

as a clinton supporter i wouldn't count out a possibility that after obama is assumed the nominee  and the ge campaign starts the numbers in august might be a mccain blowout and alot of sd might rapidley chnge their mind

It's a given we'll all be supporting our dem nominee over John McCain in the fall.  Don't you just hate John McCain?  I do.

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (none / 0)

Not a chance.  She doesn't have the money to run a GE campaign.  As soon as Obama has enough Delegates, the polling firms will stop polling her, Obama will start heavy fundraising and spending toward the GE and FULLY focus on the GE.  The polls look fine for him now (albeit better for her, I'll grant you) however as soon as he actually starts the full GE campaign, watch the numbers rise more.

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (2.00 / 1)

The fact that Clinton said just last Friday that she expects SDs to declare by the end of this week suggests she's on the verge of conceding.  Because you're right--if she wants to go to Denver she should be trying to get them to stay on the fence for as long as possible.

To actually win at Denver, Clinton would probably have to convince 1/4 of the superdelegates who are backing Obama to flip to her.  That's not likely.

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (1.00 / 2)

Hillary is going to suspend her campaign, endorse Obama in a subtle way, and then wait for the bombshell whitey tape that seems to really exist!  I mean she has to support him out of obligation to be viable in 2012 when he loses!

by WAREHOUSE553 on Sun Jun 01, 2008 at 06:30:14 PM EST

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (none / 0)

Such a tape would not cause Obama to drop out. You're building this ("this" meaning alleged, unproven, likely psy-op) up into something it's not. If all your hopes are hinging on Michelle Obama saying "whitey" that's (a) pathetic and (b) will prove disappointing for you.

I hope this is true.  And, despite not liking Clinton that much, I do hope Obama does offer her to be his veep.  Despite all the pundits saying it won't happen, and that little gaffe the other week, I do think it is still a possibility.

Re: Clinton to Endorse Barack Obama this week (none / 0)

The UK papers are often full of unsubstantiated tripe like this. Don't believe it. She didn't spend millions of her own money for some weenie cabinet position as has been asserted recently by other British rags.

If Hillary walked on water, she would be criticized for not swimming and if Obama swam, he would be lauded for being able to do what Hillary could not do.
