According to this diary, the action called for against CNN in this diary has been effective. Haven't heard of this campaign? It started this weekend with a call to action diary on Dkos asking readers to submit their opinions regarding the Wright issue with CNN. They were sick of looking at it. Of course, that isn't the way news cycles are supposed to work. They aren't supposed to be subject to pressure by political groups, and viewers should be angry when they are. This morning John Roberts declared CNN a "Wright-Free Zone," because their viewers just didn't want to hear it. But it wasn't their viewers, per se, it was a small but effective group on Dkos shilling for their preferred candidate. You can fight back, though, using the info in the DailyKos diary.
Now I'm not writing this because I want Wright in the news again. I don't actually care. If that story has played out, so be it. But I do not want ANY political group influencing the news in this sort of way. This is exactly how Bush enjoys the media blackout of his illegal activities that he does--because his supporters go after the people reporting the news with such venom. Don't let the OFB get away with it, or we'll have a neoliberal instead of a neocon in office, and they'll do the same things to the Democratic party that neocons have done to he Republican party, namely, destroy it.
You can fight back, using the contact info in the Dkos diary, which I have copied her for your convenience. Contact CNN and tell them that you want the news reported unfilterd by the threats of any politicos, in this case the OFB.

Here's my letter, sent to every one of these contacts:
I hope you don't follow John Roberts by declaring CNN a "Wright-Free Zone." Roberts is the victim of a hardcore liberal action agenda coming from DailyKos. The opinion of people trying to GET news as opposed to MAKE news is that news is news, and it should be reported without intervention from political factions.
I'm not asking you to contact every one of these people, just the one's you watch, so you can get your news unfiltered by DailyKos diarists.
