New York Post: Rev. Wright stole Wife of Parishioner

According to a front page story today, Rev. Wright, the pastor of Barak Obama for the last 20 years, counseled a couple for marriage purposes. "HE COUNSELED US, THEN WED HER", stated the husband after he sought Wright's help in saving his troubled marriage.

The Post reports that Delmer Reed confided in friends that Rev. Wright moved in on Reed's wife during the counseling sessions.

Is this the kind of spritual advisor we want for the potential next President of the United States?

Now after another "wonder" J-J dinner speech in N. Carolina this weekend, Obama seems on track. HE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING IN THAT SPEECH. Compare the policy details of HRC and BO. She is prepared.

Please read the article and judge for yourself. I know the Republicans are drooling over this one.

Re: New York (none / 0)

Well we can all agree on one thing.  Well will not be forced to read any more bs threads or posts about how Wright is being treated badly. Or we need to put his words in context.  Or his words were taken out of context.  The guy is fing NUTS.

covet thy neighbors wife

well we all fall short of the Glory of God and I can not fault Obama for this guys behavior.
But I agree that I will be glad not to hear anymore about the sainted Reverend Wright and how all the bigoted white people just don't understand.

Re: New York (none / 0)

I hoped the Wright sage was over for Obama.

However, it  simply doesn't go away: it's this Nypost stuff, it the commercial profile of the church (http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank /archive/2008/05/03/last-thoughts-on-wri ght.aspx) , it's the fact that Oprah decided 15 years ago it's out of the mainstream and left (http://www.newsweek.com/id/135392) and so on.

Wright is fast becoming a popcult fringe icon, and he's dragging Obama down.

Re: New York (none / 0)

Hey come on.  He's been toiling in that church for years, with nothing but a bucketful of money to show for it.

This is his big chance to actually BE SOMEBODY.

We shouldn't take that away from him.

Just another reason not to vote for Wright.

By the way as the guy thinks that his wife is property that can be stolen, what a jerk.

No wonder his wife first sought counselling and then left him.

Not sure the personal betrayals of those associated with the candidates is really a good place to go here.

who cares? (2.00 / 1)

this is worthy of a diary because....?????

So now Barack is responsible for who his former pastor has sex with???

Is this really what we're talking about?

The LAST thing any Clinton supporters need to be bringing up is marital problems.

How could anyone who has any connection to anyone who has been a part of an adulterous affair dare run for President?  This is an abomination!

You know (2.00 / 2)

I realize that this is a horrible thing to point out and all, but Hillary Clinton is married to an adulterer. Do you really want to bring the topic of conversation to wife stealing on the part of Obama's FORMER PASTOR whom he already denounced?

by TheSilverMonkey on Sun May 04, 2008 at 12:26:07 PM EST

Re: You know (none / 0)

Hillary already has all those negatives priced in.

Obama and Wright his spiritual mentor don't have the negatives priced in.

But you do realize:
If being married to an adulterer is not a problem as it relates to being elected president, then neither is have a former pastor whom you have denounced who is also an adulterer.

Hypocrisy (2.00 / 0)

And don't you just love the hypocrisy of the diarist to say "I know the Republicans are drooling over this one", after having just drooled over that turd themselves! AND then drools some more by posting a DIARY about it.

Re: Hypocrisy (none / 0)

You know, I do not recall ever seeing you say one thing about your candidate's qualifications, or point out one substantive area in which you feel your candidate has the stronger plan.

When you are going to start asking yourself "why support Obama" instead of just going arounda and trolling people who don't?

Hillary's.

It makes a tangible difference in the poorest peoples lives.

Very few taxes hurt the poor more than the rich as much as the gas tax.

Why don't you guys just go ahead (2.00 / 0)

and switch to the Republican party.

That's where Hillary is going.

Rev. Wright IS NOT Obama. Two different people. Get it.

Otherwise you open up Bill Clinton as fair game in your little guilt by association scandal.

Do you want to talk about Bill Clinton, and his affairs since he is associated with your candidate.

Grow up!

That's a pretty weak threat.... (none / 0)

Bill gave us eight years of peace and prosperity, balanced the budget, drove unemployment to its lowest levels in decades, and left us with a huge surplus.  Rev Wright, on the other hand, is a crazy-ass preacher whose details get more sordid with every passing week.

And that's why Hilary has Bill campaigning for her ... and Obama is running from Wright as fast as he can.

She's a Democrat... (none / 0)

Is this diary completely ridiculous? Yeah.  Are her tactics wrong and seemingly Rovian? Yeah.  But she's a Democrat.  In fact, the reason her campaign keeps on harping on Wright and such is b/c there policy differences are so minor that it is hard for Hillary to make hay of them.  She's not the best Dem imo, but she still is one.

Re: Why don't you guys just go ahead (none / 0)

Team Obama over at daily kos have been doing guilt by association all primary.  Where are their taxes, who gave them money.

Lets look at her tears in light of katrina.

Well lets look at his religious life in light of his pastor.

Team Obama:  His pastor is a patriot man of God and you can't say anything bad about him.  Saying God Damn America and that Americs is a terrorist nation is what pastors do.  Look at the whole sermon, look at his whole life.

Obama's Pastor:  Obama is a politician.

Team Obama:  OMG how could he.  To say that Obama is not pure as the driven snow how dare he.  What a jerk he is.

NY newpaper:  Lets look at if Wright and his whole life.

Team Obama:  Its unfair to look at his whole life.  Obama who knew this man for 20 years couldn't possibly know that Wright stole a church members wife.

Seriously have you guys ever been to church?  Didn't know?
Have you ever had sunday dinner with anyone who has been to church?

Re: Why don't you guys just go ahead (2.00 / 1)

You my dear are ranting and make no sense. If you are trying to make a point about Wrights morals, go for it, but then you'd have to talk about Bills morals, or lack their of. Why are you so apalled by Wrights "infidelities" and not Bills. He sexually harassed a women, at WORK. One would think true feminists would be outraged by a MAN who sexually harasses women.
