UPDATED! Obama winning Guam! Unbeatable momentum!

CNN has Obama winning Guam by 6% as of this moment.

If Obama wins in Guam, how will Clinton justify staying in the race?  Why can't she close the deal?

Guam is clearly a valuable territory of the United States; they were a crucial refuelling station during World War II.  These good citizens are clearly an excellent judge of character, and their choice of Obama speaks volumes about the national mood and his electability.

Clinton supporters, how do you think your candidate can possibly respond to this loss credibly?

*NON-SNARK UPDATE:* It's amusing that different people see different snark here. Some seem to think that I'm mocking Obama supporters. Others think I'm mocking attitudes from Clinton supporters. Others just get a chuckle out of the absurdity that our democratic process has brought us to. See that, people? I'm pulling us all together through snark. I'm a uniter!

I am from a conservative household , all my folks are Reagan democrats .

I can tell you up till about the time of Ohio and Texas I couldn't get my folks to think of even voting for Hillary Clinton over Mccain , but now its almost like they had an epiphany , no day passess that they don't talk about her glowingly .

Whatever transformation she has done has worked.

Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

This is a clever guide to why she's so appealing now to the center-right, it involves media-hate, fighting-spirit, national security credentials:
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Pu blic/Articles/000/000/015/063kvafy.asp

The best part of it all is this: remember when people were talking about her revolt against the Republican father? Right now, she's come to accept him as a model of small-town values and toughness.

Re: Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

You know I actually agree with that .

The major reason I am supporting is because of National Security , my views on national security is actually closer to John McCain than her but I don't think he is the right man for this century.

Patriotism , military service , pride in country are really driving decisions in how I base my decision.

She has shown resilience and character that has helped her appeal to a lot of conservative folks I know.

Re: Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

Yeah, it should also help her greatly in the basically red states to come.

I really don't believe Obama is doing himself any favors by recently proclaiming speech after speech that he's patriotic, that people should not judge him by the Wright stuff, that he honors the flag etc. Of course, it's true, but I cannot imagine an undecided conservative voter who wouldn't think "Why does he say it. Is it doubtful?" He should have some credible surrogates for that, but he doesn't.

Re: Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

Yeah .

When I hear him say after his speeches now " God Bless America " , it just comes off in a wrong way.

Its just sad he has to do that .

He really showed a lack of judgment sitting in that pew listening to that stuff for 20 years.

I really don't think anyone should be listening to that crap , talk less of kids.

Comparing America to Al queada , to KKK , GD America all of that stuff is just too much for many people I have spoken.

Frankly I have heard so many people say they believe Obama sat there because he believes it .

I don't believe that .

Re: Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

It's simple: in all his political career, he's never had to say it. The folks he represented in Chicago or the folks in the law school don't talk like that.

His patriotism is different, but it's always been more about uniting Americans than about serving America, think about "we are one people".

The whole judgment discussion is way off base: judgment is about deciding under stress and Illinois state senators were not under any Iraq-related stress. Similarly, Chicago folks were perfectly fine with Wright, why leave the church then?

Re: Rightwing op-ed (none / 0)

I suppose thats one way of looking at it .

If they are fine with such talk , then the assumption is they would share the sentiment .

And if he tolerates it , without sharing the sentiment thats shows a deficiency in character or judgement.

If I didn't believe those horrible things he was saying about the country and other hateful things against other races , there is no way I would remain  , talk less of taking my kids to listen to that stuff.
