Hear David Frum on Left, Right and Center

On Friday, May 16th, the popular public radio program/podcast Left, Right and Center, features David Frum, the man who gave us two of the three-word phrase, "axis of evil." He sits in as a substitute "right" (usually it's Tony Blankley) on the program. Regular panelists Arianna Huffington, Robert Scheer and Matt Miller bat back and forth with David about their thoughts on the prospect of gay marriage as an election issue, whether Obama is an appeaser (David says we should change the word to "assuager"), whether Israel at 60 is a stronger nation, whether the Republicans are having a nervous breakdown (David says they need to focus all their energy and money on Congressional elections), and why Republicans want Hillary to run...

You can listen live online at 7 pm Pacific time at www.KCRW.com, or listen anytime on-demand. Sign up for the free podcast, and please join our intelligent audience for this lively but very civil and substantive program.

Re: Who's the liberal? (none / 0)

You mean Bob Scheer and Arianna Huff aren't far enough to the left? Seriously?

The very definition of spam.

This site isn't for you to pimp your internet radio show, yo

Not spam, information for the open minded (none / 0)

Sorry you chose to be rude upon my first post. I will be back, in spite of your nastiness. This show is one that the readers (well, other than you) of this blog will enjoy listening to, as I gather there are some intelligent folks who prefer their political analysis done in a substantive manner, as opposed to the screaming talking heads elsewhere. Also, dialogue is a good thing, and as to negative commenters, well, it's easy to be a critic when you have nothing positive to say.

Funny, though, you're behaving just like the folks on RedState. I can understand their objections, since they want to do discourse about conservative issues. But here, on MYDD? I have just as much right to be here as you do.

Enjoy your high horse, may you stay aloft.

Forgive people. (none / 0)

people can get a little testy. There have been a lot of trolls hanging around recently.

That said, if you are making your sales pitch, you might not want to trump up your "right wing" panelist on this site. No one is going to tune in to hear him.

Re: Forgive people. (none / 0)

Thank you, good point. I'll try to find the nugget of brilliance from our other panelists. I appreciate your time in replying and for the good advice.

Re: Hear David Frum on Left, Right and Center (none / 0)

Frum is an idiot.

Born to a Jewish family in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Frum is the son of the late Barbara Frum, a well-known veteran journalist. His father, Murray Frum was a dentist who later became a multi-millionaire as a real estate developer. David Frum's sister, Linda Frum is a journalist. David Frum is married to writer Danielle Crittenden, the stepdaughter of former Toronto Sun editor Peter Worthington.

David Frum has attracted criticism because of his stand on the Iraqi War and his criticism of those who do not support it. In 2003 he wrote:

"War is a great clarifier. It forces people to take sides. The paleoconservatives have chosen -- and the rest of us must choose too. In a time of danger, they have turned their backs on their country. Now we turn our backs on them."[10]

His position caused conflict among conservatives, [11] and more traditional conservatives, also known as paleocons, have in turn been critical of Frum. The well-known conservative and founder of the magazine, The American Conservative, Taki Theodoracopulos wrote this about Frum: "This buffoon was fired by the Bushies, then went around threatening to sue if someone hinted that he didn't quit on his own. (You were fired Frum, and I welcome your lawsuit.) He is a cheap Canadian careerist who jumped on the neocon bandwagon and is now using anti-Semitism as a stick to beat us with. Mind you, to be called "unpatriotic" and an "anti-Semite" by this shameless publicity hound has to be a compliment." [12]

Frum has also been accused of misrepresenting Canadian crime statistics in order to incorrectly portray crime in Canada as increasing while the crime rate in the United States is dropping.[13]
