Negatives of the opponent isn't the way to win (none / 0)

We need to have our candidate have lots of positives.

Selling one candidate to the Democratic core voters as a done deal, or as the lesser of two evils.. (i.e. not as bad as McCain doesnt get out the vote either.)

Hillary can win.. I don't think Obama will be able to pull it off. He may galvanize some people bit he doesn't galvanize the people we need to get out en masse..  The Electoral College was designed to give rural states a disproportionate amount of influence considering their population and that is going to work against Obama, CLEARLY.

Also, there is a HUGE difference between McCain and Hillary Clinton on healthcare, the diferences between McCain and Obama are there, BUT Obama has said he wont address the issue for four years, McCain will be able to claim he will do 'something' sooner..

All candidates healthcare proposals are going to run into problems with trade agreements, NAFTA and the World Trade Organization prohibit quite a few of their cost-cutting proposals. Given that the US has fought for these rules for years - its going to be hard changing them.

Hillary is the only one of the three mainstream candidates who has even brought this issue up.

Universal healthcare IS a core Democratic value

"Hillary's the only one..." (2.00 / 1)

Great.  So what are you doing to help our nominee?

Re: Negatives of the opponent isn't the way to win (2.00 / 1)

Why are you replying to my post about working hard for the nominee? There's no relevance there. I'll work hard if it's Clinton; I trust you would support that. My comment was a 100% positive comment on working hard to support the party.

There aren't many who are truly worried. (2.00 / 2)

Besides nutty Jerome.  We're just rubbing elbows with the few remaining dead-enders, and a bunch of RedState concern trolls.

While none of us can relax, there also isn't any data to support a rational dread of November.  We're in great shape.  (And if you want to talk about WV results, please let me know what the median vote has been for previous black candidates there before you begin wringing your hands.)

I never listened to that song before. (2.00 / 1)

Geez, it made me kind of teary.

I would be happy if the Republicans party shrivelled up and died after what they have done to this country...and what they have done in the name of this country.

No Way, No How, No McCain!

In order to win in November (2.00 / 1)

you have to WANT our candidate to win...and I have my doubts around here that some here really want victory if their candidate isn't nominated.

The American people; they were for the war before they were against it.

Yes We Can (2.00 / 1)

We are in a great position regardless of our candidate. Obama will definitely galvanize the people that we need to win in the fall - most notably independents, who McCain is espcially appealing to. Gallup shows that McCain and Obama are in a dead head in this group while McCain blows Clinton out. Independents were key in delivering votes to Democratic congressional candidates in 2006. And, despite all this media crap about the divided Democrats, we will come together, just as the McCain voters in 2000 backed Bush in the general election. Furthermore, young voters and black voters are energized in a way never seen before. That is exactly what we need.

I'm not reducing the need to appeal to white working class voters, which Obama does have a problem with. But the truth is that all a Democrat needs is around 40-45% of these voters to win an election. It is more important that a Democrat overwhelmingly win the woman vote and the black vote - and Obama is able to do that. The persuadable working class voters will come around when they see the McCain ticket's economic plan.

Why don't you spell it out? (2.00 / 1)

It's cowardly to dance around what you mean to say.

And try to use proper English.  Your annoying anti-Democrat screeds are only being ignored because they're so difficult to read.
