A Cure Within Our Lifetime: Hillary unveils her plan to find a cure for breast cancer within our lifetime on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. Hillary’s plan would provide $300 million a year in increased funding for breast cancer research at the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, and the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
And this cannot come too soon. The numbers are quickly increasing all over the world, even in countries in Asia where traditionally they had the lowest incidence of Breast Cancer, they are seeing increases. Still not anywhere as close as in the United States, where even Asian women who move to the United States increases their chance of getting Breast Cancer by 80 percent. In our country, moving from 1-8 women to 1-7 to develop the disease. We need to find a cure for this disease as soon as possible.
So first, don't forget to tune in to watch Ellen today and see Hillary unveil her plan. Then next, help to make sure this will happen. Volunteer some time to make sure we have a President Hillary so she can move us forward to help solve the many challenges we face. Make calls, deliver signs, go door to door to speak with voters and/or DONATE We're Americans. We will make good change happen if we have the Commander in Chief who wants this change!

Clinton Announces Cancer Research Effort
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSFiled at 4:49 a.m. ET
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A proposal by Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton would provide $300 million a year in increased government funding on breast cancer research, focusing on treatment and exploring possible genetic and environmental triggers for the disease.
The presidential hopeful and former first lady discussed her plan with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on her television show, which was scheduled to air Monday. As president, Clinton told DeGeneres, she would set a goal of finding a cure for the disease within 10 years.
Clinton's pplan would increase funding for breast cancer research and treatment through programs at the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, and the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
It would also help more low-income women gain access to screenings like mammograms by making them more affordable. Among other things, she would eliminate Medicare co-payments for mammograms.
Clinton also planned to propose a new program to explore racial disparities in diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
This touches on several other important points. The need for us to have a Universal Health Care. We know lower income individuals suffer undiagnosing the most, because they don't have health care that enables prevention and maintenance. If we don't cover everyone, the most vulnerable and the ones who need the most help will still go uncovered and then when they seek emergency care, the costs will continually spiral out of control. And yet, caught late, their chances for survival are much worse.
I know this all too well. Recently I just had a Breast MRI diagnostic test done. This one test alone cost $3,700.00. How many can afford these kind of expenses for diagnosing, preventive or maintanence for your health care? And if you don't have Health Insurance, you have to pay that full price.
Let's make the kind change that will be good change for all of us!
