Unless Senator Clinton Apolgoizes...

She shan't receive my support in any future contest, be it this presidential run (should she secure the nomination) or any other.

We can all pretend to be mere participants in this "civil" discourse, and claim that whoever the nominee might be we will support him or her. Not I.

Being a reasonable fellow (mostly), I won't write off Senator Clinton without giving her an in back into this relationship. It's fairly simple, apologize and repent, or lose my support:

- Apologize for the ridiculous 3AM ad

Apologize for your "as far as I know" response to whether Barack is a Muslim
Apologize for your disingenuous comments about the Reverend Wright controversy
Apologize for your reference to the imaginary CIC threshold that you and John McCain apparently passed, and Obama did not
Apologize for every time you reduced Barack to a speech
Apologize for your fear-mongering ad featuring none other than Bin Laden
Apologize for your vote on the Kyle-Lieberman Amendment
Apologize for Bush-like threats towards Iran
Apologize for the nasty opportunism during the last debate
Finally, apologize for your Iraq war authorization vote

I am only asking you to apologize for things that you have done or directed, Senator Clinton. I do not ask you to apologize on behalf of President Clinton, any member of your staff, or any of your numerous surrogates. Just your votes. Your missteps. Your errors. Your judgment.

Of course if you ever come to the realization that you failed to run the type of progressive campaign that many of us hoped of you to run, then you might also find it in your heart to apologize for being the candidate who effectively stopped our party from running on a platform of hope, change, and peace. You successfully managed to bring the political debate down to a level from which we all hoped to ascend.

bleh, what do I do? I'm just sick of it. I cannot believe a Dem runs two ads like 3AM and the Bin Laden one, then threatens a country to "obliterate them" and everyone goes around their business like it's not a big deal.

Some of the stuff on this site has pissed me off too, but I have come to the conclusion that this race is over, and there is no reason to fight anymore on MyDD, because it is wasted breath.

They are good people fighting for what they believe in, just like us, and it's time we stopped the sparring.

Sure, there will be nasty and unfair things on the rec list for the next several weeks, but that doesn't mean we need to escalate. Eventually the tempers and emotions will die down, and this site will return to what it was before this whole brawl began.

It is called intellectual dishonesty in my dictionary. When someone accuses Clinton supporters of not being progressives because they said they cant vote for Obama as a nominee and then finding/creating excuses to do the same when the tables are turned.

May be you remember the Iowa debate in December? When Biden's remarks that were described as racist were brought into question? Remember how one of his Senate colleagues talked about they've known Biden, he's a good man without a racist bone in his body?

Have you even seen the video of that?

Kroft asked her if Obama was a Muslim, she strongly and categorically denied it, and then, for some inexplicable reason, he asked her again. She was taken aback by the question, as is easy to understand. Why would he ask again, after her strong and unambiguous first answer? Wouldn't she have wondered if he knew something she didn't know? And wouldn't that explain exactly why she finally came around to a wide-eyed "as far as I know?"

Here's what Media Matters had to say about it:

The only thing sleazy about the episode was the type of journalism being used to concoct a Clinton slur.

When people suggest that the press employs a separate standard for covering Clinton, this is the kind of episode they're talking about. There simply is no other candidate, from either party, who has had their comments, their fragments, dissected so dishonestly the way Clinton's have been.

The fact is, if you look at Clinton's exchange with Kroft in its entirety, which lasted less than one minute, I count eight separate times in which she either plainly denied the false claim that Obama was Muslim, labeled that suggestion to be a smear, or expressed sympathy for Obama having to deal with the Muslim innuendo. Eight times:

CLINTON: Of course not. I mean, that's--you know, there is not basis for that. You know, I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that.

KROFT: And you said you'd take Senator Obama at his word that he's not a Muslim.

CLINTON: Right. Right.

KROFT: You don't believe that he's a Muslim or implying? Right.

CLINTON: No. No. Why would I? No, there is nothing to base that on, as far as I know.

KROFT: It's just scurrilous --

CLINTON: Look, I have been the target of so many ridiculous rumors. I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who gets, you know, smeared with the kind of rumors that go on all the time.

Want to complain that Clinton's answers contained too many qualifiers, while at the same time acknowledging her initial response? That's fair game. And that's what New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof did on March 9, when he noted, "When Mrs. Clinton was asked in a television interview a week ago whether Mr. Obama is a Muslim, she denied it firmly -- but then added, most unfortunately, 'as far as I know.' "

But to set aside Clinton's denials and suggest that "as far as I know" captured her entire response is patently dishonest. Yet that's exactly when many media players did.

I hope you're not holding you're breath on that apology.

Apologize for using a Republican "Harry and Louise" attack ad
Apologize for his campaign pushing the race card/race baiting in S.C.
Apologize for his continued lies and omissions about his policies (those of which we can find), and while were at it copying the one's Hillary has put forth and then topping 'em off with a few hundred thou here and there
Apologize for everytime he or his campaign called her a liar
Apologize for everytime he or his campaign called her ethics into question with his rhetoric and deception
Apologize for the "she'll say anything to get elected" crap
Apologize for the lack of preparedness in his debate answers to the American Public
Apologize for not even fulfilling the term that the citizens of Illinois put him in office for
Apologize for Tony Rezko, and his association with Rev. Wright's comments...not the whole speech...just those comments that, well sucked.

Let's start there and see how he does, and then maybe just maybe Hill may get around to your request. In the meantime...I'm sure Hill will just give you the good ole Cheney comeback....Go F yourself!

Sorry to inform you but the candidate I support has operated on one phase and one phase only. On the other hand, Senator Clinton's campaign has replaced their campaign manager and their chief strategist. On occasion, they've even scaled back their biggest asset, President Clinton. They're out of money.

And they can only cling to their newest excuse that "Obama cannot put the race away", which is so damn stupid I cannot believe they're actually using the line. They're literally attributing Senator Clinton's successes on Obama's weaknesses as opposed to her strengths. She's still in the race because he can't put her away, not because she's a strong candidate. Brilliant.

Katrina was a preemptive attack from the Obama campaign calling Hillary a racist for crying.

The implication was that Hillary tearing up because all her opponents were quite mean to her meant that she didn't love black people because she didn't cry in public for them.

It was a racial cue.

It was hitting below the belt and it will be part of why Obama will never be president of the US

You will also notice on this site no Hillary supporter has ever spelled out N**er, but spelling out Bitch and whore is completely acceptable to many Obama supporters. But if any one spelled out N**er they would not only be jumped all over by everyone, Clinton and Obama supporters alike. I bet they would be banned.

Mydd has done a pretty good job in that respect and I am proud of us.

Even when there is a racial campaign from team Obama and anger returned needs to be genuinely color blind.

If we are to be the champions of Dr. Kings dream we need to totally ignore race in our attacks.

Did you ask John Kerry to apologize when he ran the ad in 2004 that morphed Howard Dean's face into Osama Bin Laden's?

This is a primary and it seems no one who supports Obama has ever seen the dirty tricks that politicians play on each other as they jostle for the winning spot.

Even Howard Dean thought that this primary has been fairly civil compared to past primaries, but all we hear from Obama supporters is how "mean" Hillary is to Obama.

Two words: grow up.

Hillary has nothing to apologize for, anymore than Obama does.
