The Daily Show - Hillary: "The Tide Is Turning"

The Daily Show - 4/23/08

Jon Stewart reviews Hillary's intellectual progression regarding the metrics for winning the Democratic nomination.

UPDATE: wellinformed suggests the following: "ok people lets recommend this so I can actually see Hillary supporters comments I would love to see baghdad barbara...oops I mean alegre spin this lmao"

You know, I wouldn't mind kicking back and watching that one, too. ;->

C'mon - REC IT UP, PEOPLE!

Southside of Chicago (none / 0)

He is not FROM Southside, he went there after Law school in Harvard.
He grew up in Hawaii, his Grandparents who mostly raised him were bank executives.

He did not grow up poor.

Re: The Daily Show - Hillary: "The Tide (none / 0)

Stewart once again gets it right, Colbert as well with "The Word"

I really can't think of any other display of denial that has been indulged by such a huge number of people. Im jealous, really.

IF IF IF (2.00 / 1)

That was brilliant. Hillary's whole argument now is IF. If this was the case, if that was the case, if we count this, if we count that. Obama's campign is based on actual VOTES, not what ifs.
It was scarey when it was only her supporters were denying reality, but now Hillary herself has lost touch with reality.

Re: IF IF IF (none / 0)

Stewart is of course firmly in the Obama camp.  he can join Jack Cafferty who actually had the gall to entitle his hourly question today-Is Hillary Clinton deluding herslf."

Re: The Daily Show - Hillary: " (none / 0)

All states that Obama won, don't count, all the super delegates who endorsed Obama don't count, only big states count, also states without Obama's name on the ballot counts.  Hillary is queen, Hillary is the queen.  Don't you people get it Hillary is the queen.  She is supposed to be the queen.  All hail Hillary the queen.  Yes, we should fall down and bow to King Bill and Queen Hillary.  How dare we not give them what they deserve.  We should have our heads chopped off.  Let us all eat cake.

God, it's hard to remember how many versions of the nomination they have spun.

The worst of the worst is when she attacks Activists.

Im still waiting for one the members of the Clinton church to attack this clip.

Is it not unfair and untrue?

Re: The Daily Show - Hillary: " (none / 0)

If only democrats were allowed to vote and not Indies and Repugs, she would have won a long time ago.  Plus this "caucus" business is the real joke. Look at Iowa where some people get to vote twice.

Re: The Daily Show - Hillary: " (2.00 / 1)

That is SO easy to say once you lose.

I support closed primaries, but they were no help to Hillary.

She lost embarrassingly in my state Maryland.

Closed Primary and Govenor was her backer.

Our process was excellent, and voters chose the better candidate.

Re: The Daily Show - Hillary: " (none / 0)

She would have won Iowa, and your point would have been moot.

Activists? Black people? I mean, come on! (2.00 / 1)

"I mean, if we're going to start counting black votes..."

I was dying watching this last night.

You Obamabots just don't get it (2.00 / 1)

Look, Obama can't win. Obama MAY NOT win! He does not have permission to win. Don't you get it?
Why is he always trying to move the goalposts? First it's "Voters and delegates, in combination, get to choose the nominee," before Iowa. Then it was "Voters and delegates, in combination, get to choose the nominee," after Obama won Iowa. Then it was "Voters and delegates, in combination, get to choose the nominee," after he lost New Hampshire.
Now it's STILL "Voters and delegates, in combination, get to choose the nominee," now that he's on track to win the nomination.
Why can't he make up his mind?
And why is he so hellbent on such an undemocratic nomination process as asking the voters to democratically vote for a nominee. The gall and perfidity of Barack Obama never fails to astound me.
And to what end? All so he can get his 2025 undemocratically elected delgates and steal this nomination from Hillary Clinton, whose strategies and public statements have been nothing if not a hallmark of consistency.
And even if he has 2025 delegates, what then? It won't really matter, we know, since a lot of those delegates are from states that "don't matter" and anyway, if it took more than 2025 delegates to win, then she'd still have a chance, and everybody knows that the rules that allowed for only 2025 delegates to win are undemocratic, since odd numbers favor Obama so it should really take 2144 delegates, and if the 4 Maritime Provinces of Canada were American states, then they'd be ripe Clinton territory, and who are you to disenfranchise all those Maritime voters?
You damned elitists.
