"Bitter" Democrats Got Last Laugh Tonight

Well folks,

As a White Catholic Male of Irish & Italian ancestry. A proud democrat & proud Union leader. All I want to say tonight is...

We " Bitter" working class white people GOT THE LAST LAUGH tonight.

We let our Dads, Moms, Wives, Husbands, Grandparents, cousins, neighbors, friends, gumbas, paisanos, sons & daughters do the talking in the BALLOT Box.

We came out with the Highest Turnout in PA primary history. Higher than even Governor Rendell's historic run or even Dad Casey's run.

We Catholics gave a resounding LANDSLIDE 70% vote for Madame Hillary Clinton.

We "bitter" working class folks gave a LANDSLIDE  2 to 1 victory for Madame Clinton tonight.

And Yes, even our Jewish-American brothers & sisters of PA gave Madame Clinton a landslide 2 to 1 victory tonight among Jewish voters.

Yes Sir Obama, we bitter, gun loving , working class democrats are the SAME PEOPLE that buried you in Ohio, Texas, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida and New York.

And yes Sir, we will do it AGAIN just for you in Indiana, West Virginia, & Kentucky.

And if you still CANNOT RESPECT us &  REACH OUT to us "bitter" working class people, We will send you another Big Message in the BALLOT BOX in November through John McCain.

We White Reagan Democrats delivered PA,NJ,OH,MO,CA,FL,AR,OK,TN to the Republican Party in 1988 & help deliver a landslide defeat of Dukakis.

A 20 year anniversary may be a fitting gift in 2008.

You Got Enough problems with Latino & Asian voters. The last thing you want is cross swords with us bitter poor white people.

Yes, we are hurting. Yes, many of us are in pain. But make no mistake about, we shall survive.

Lets get on thing straight Sir Obama.

You need our votes more than  we need you !

Hillary Clinton 2008 !  GO & FIGHT Senator Clinton! We Got your back! All the way baby.

Re: Last Laugh Tonight (2.00 / 1)

Yes,

And we are being kind.

If we voted in the same 90%+ level for Clinton (just because she is white), that African-Americans have been giving Obama in this primary season- Clinton would have been the nominee back on Super Tuesday.

It would have been Clinton vs. McCain today.

Are you calling blacks who vote overwhelmingly for Obama racists?

I wouldn't go there, if I were you.

Actually if he takes the Nomination (2.00 / 2)

You are going to need him just as much as he will need you, cause without a Democrat victory, you got McCain.  I shudder to think about it.

Also, as someone who actually does listen to what the candidates say (and pretty much ignore their surrogate, cause they are usually put up to the dirty work) I think way too many people are way too eager to mischaracterize anything the "other" candidate says and then get all unholy indignant about it.  Lets face it, neither candidate is a nasty as the other side makes them out to be and neither is as perfect as their own side claims them to be.

Re: Actually if he takes the Nomination (none / 0)

Listen, Millions of Democrats who are leaning McCain today ( IF Obama is the nominee) would take McCain any day over Bush.

McCain is not Bush.

And yes, this is not a threat
Its reality. Millions of working class democrats voted for Reagan & Bush for a whole decade in the 80's.

We got No problems doing that again.

White Reagan Democrats are just like Latino voters.

We are swing voters.

Re: He's right about latinos and Caucasians (2.00 / 1)

Because he is right.

45% of Latinos voted for Bush in '00.

As I wrote on my diary last month, Obama's Latino strategist have repeatedly stated that Obama needs 70% of the Latino vote in the Fall.

He needs at least 701% ot make up for the expected loss of support among caucasian voters.

This is reality. Not some Spin & feel good BS that Obama fans want you to believe.

Obama has some Real Issues with Latinos, Asians & White voters.

Every major Latino political guru out there has been predicting for the past 2 months that McCain has a real shot of being the 1st Republican to win the Latino vote If Obama is the nominee.

Obama's problems with working class whites & Latino voters is as Real as it gets.

by the way, the record margin of victory among latinos was in 1996 when a man named Bill Clinton won 78% of Latino voters. ( Kerry only managed 55%)

I dont even want to think about Obama's #'s in the fall.

Well as the saying goes, that's why we have elections.

Re: He's right about latinos and Caucasians (2.00 / 1)

Why do you think the democrats keep losing elections that SHOULD be theirs to win? We're 'right' on all the issues aren't we? We (yes the royal we) think we are on the right side, unfortunately when it comes down to having elections, we lose.

We can close our eyes and click our heels together but that won't help us win. We can burry our head in the sand and say 'it ain't so' but we lose.

I'm sorry but when Obama can't win the big ELECTORAL VOTE states in the democratic primary WE (yes the royal we) have to admit he has a problem heading to the general election. He knows it- and just to say all the people who voted for Hillary will vote for him is not realistic- a lot of them won't, for a lot of reasons.

I, for the life of me, still don't understand how Bush got a second term, but he did. Kerry didn't connect well with a lot of voters..but I still didn't imagine a second Bush term.

Whatever (none / 0)

Go be bitter somewhere else.  I made my point, but you just want to put the hate on...go ahead, but guess what...that makes you a Republican and this site it for electing Democrats.

Not only is he a Republican but he's "got no problems" voting for a dead Republican ex-president.  Again.  For a whole decade.

Re: Actually if he takes the Nomination (none / 0)

Since you ignored my question earlier, I'll ask it again.  What about McCain's platform makes you a supporter of his?  Abortion?  Social Security?  Iraq?  LGBT issues?  The Bush Tax Cuts?  The Supreme Court?

Re: Actually if he takes the Nomination (none / 0)

What part of Obama's platform makes you vote for him?

Hope? Change? Hoping for change?  Changing, hopefully? Bombing pakistan?  Support of racist ministers?

I mean, come on...he has so many pluses...

Re: Actually if he takes the Nomination (none / 0)

How about this - not wasting too much money, lives, and intellectual time on useless wars in the middle east? Don't worry. Under McCain, we will be safe from terrorists - you know why? Because terrorists won't even care to attack the US because we will continue our spiral downward as a world econcomic power under McCain.

Re: Actually if he takes the Nomination (none / 0)

mcCain is not bush. BUt he shares the same weakness that has singlehandedly brought this country down in the last 6 years - the middle east. McCain is clueless in this area. He supported a war that has had such a high opportunity cost in many areas that it doesn't matter if he is be2tter than Bush in some other areas. You want to fund some environmental improvements?? Maybe too little too late. ANd where is the money? The IRaq war. And by continuing this war, what else do you spend - people's intellectual capital. When p'eople should be focusing on our economic rejuvenation, we will be wasting time debating this war for the next 8 years under McCain.

Yeah, sure, go ahead and vote for mccain if you are really retarded.

Re: "Bitter" Democrats Got Last Laugh (none / 0)

The votes in the majority of PA counties were like 75/25, 70/30 and 60/40 in favor of Hillary. Awesome!

Libdemusa, I rec'd your diary but please realize you're not just talking to Obama supporters. Also, please don't ever say Jewish-Americans unless you think it's OK to call yourself a Catholic-American. We're all just Americans who happen to be one religion or another.

by Nobama on Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 02:18:30 AM EST

Well you sound bitter (none / 0)

Yeah, only rural small town americans are real americans. Meanwhile politicians should feel free to insult MoveOn voters and other likeminded folk because their feelings dont matter. It's only you guys who are the real americans. The ones who voted for Obama in the other states are not so real.
