Karl Rove weighs in on "the finger"

Hello again boys and hootergirls,

As you know, I'm John - Karl's best friend.  Karl continues to be impressed by all the dishonest comments being posted by our trolls masquerading as both Obama and Hillary supporters  with all of your efforts, which will no doubt lead to a landslide victory this November by either the witch  Hillary Clinton, or the scarecrow  Barack Obama.

Karl intended to stay out of Obama's smooth move  "the finger" controversy, but after viewing SluggoJD's detailed analysis of a video that leaves little doubt just how smooth Obama is  ridiculous, self-serving diary titled Screw you, screw you too, screw all of you  "I'm sorry Jonathan, but you're wrong," he nearly had a heart attack this morning as the diary quickly rose to the top of the Recommended List,  Fortunately for us, because we want to run against Obama  it was deleted for exposing one of our agents  wisely deleted by the always-wise monitors here at MyDD, though it still exists in an even more-powerful version with pictures  in an even more ridiculous version with pictures, at MakeThemAccountable.com.

I mean, the nerve of that asshole, troll-fighting, intellectual son of a bitch  SluggoJD for having the nerve to put that diary out on Al's internets for all to see...

I've seen a lot of crazy lunatics in my lifetime, especially at the White House  but this guy scores a perfect 10 on the meter.  You know what this guy did?  He had the gall to study the video with sound, frame by frame, like some Jim Garrison wanne-be, and post detailed findings that nobody in the entire diary was able to find fault with, so they launched into the usual juvenile attacks written by our team of Troll Managers  a bunch of gobbledygook with specific times, and cute little nicknames for each person in the audience like "Extremely Ugly  "Woman in Black," and "Coke-rimmed cause she can't tell the difference between her nose and her mouth  "Glasses Lady."

SluggoJD should be harassed by all of our supporters - please contact the White House immediately for all his personal information  strung up and left out in the sun for a few days, until he swears allegiance to stormfront.org  repents every single sin since he was born, because he sure brings shame and dishonor on each and every one of you wonderful agents folks here.

I mean, look at these pictures that capture exactly what he was talking about  his nutty, drug-induced comatose-like fantasies!

There's Obama rubbing  scratching his face with one finger - big deal...

And there's "Woman in black" to his left (your right), as she is the first person to get the joke, illustrated by her mouth  with a big Cheerio in her mouth - big deal, my mom loves Cheerios, and her mouth looks like a big "O" whenever she eats them...

And there's "Woman in Black" again, as she starts laughing her ass off  choking from the big Cheerio in her mouth...

And now "Glasses Lady" in the lower right of your screen starts moving her head back and forth because she sees a bee flying around...

And right after Obama is finished flipping Hillary the bird  And right after Obama is finished scratching his cheek, there's "Glasses Lady" again laughing because the bee stung one of the Hillary supporters in the audience...

And there's the mysterious "Man in black" in the upper right of the picture, laughing now because he sees the Hillary supporter who was stung by the bee, running out of the auditorium...

And there's "Hidden man" in the back, as he fills "Rose colored lady in on the joke  begins to tell "Rose colored lady," who is up and to the left in the picture, that their stock in Halliburton just went up $5,000,000....sooooo what?.....

She reacts as anyone would upon learning that they just earned another $5,000,000 from unethical means  the stock of a great American company...

And finally, there's the one who thinks he's The One  Obama himself, laughing and having a good time after smoothly getting away with another ugly moment  giving a good line, watching a bee terrorize a Hillary supporter, and showing his clever and cunning intellect.

Now boys and hootergirls, do you see anything wrong with any of this?

Don't you think SluggoJD should be banned for life from grocery stores, restaurants, libraries, and all other locations outside his home  this site?

Who is with me?  Who will stand with Karl all the way to victory in 2008?

Re: Censorship (2.00 / 2)

There are many, many crackpot websites on which to have a "discussion" about this issue.  Spare me the censorship argument, unless you think we should have diaries about a fake moon landing and how the earth was created 5,000 years ago, replete with "evidence."  People who run their own private website can do with it what they please.

Excuse me, but in the last thread he accused a Clinton supporter who disagreed with him of being a white supremacist, and updated his diary to reflect that fact. Excuse me while I doubt his "pure" motives of trying to encourage dialog.

That's rich. I wondered why it was gone when I checked this morning. Because, after all, the typical white supremacist is a non white, gay, Hillary for President supporting Democrat.

This whole deal is beginning to make me wonder what the hell happened that made people jump the shark. Not to say that that I haven't a few times but Jesus...

Re: Censorship (2.00 / 2)

My comment was that this whole primary, and specifically, this person, is making people jump the damn shark. As a Clinton supporter, when someone disagrees, I don't hop on Google, and then pick out someone who happens to have the same screen name as that same person and then go off and try to tell them they're a white supremacist, especally when they're not white, gay, and supporting a woman who's running for President.

THAT is jumping the shark.

Re: Censorship (none / 0)

I agree with you that the person is an idiot.  But I don't think that's jumping the shark.  Jumping the shark is when someone does something ridiculous to boost ratings or popularity.  While the accusation was certainly ridiculous, I don't see how it boosts popularity for Obama.  It usually turns more people against him because they think he's whining.  The same when people throw out the sexism argument for Clinton.

Re: Censorship (2.00 / 0)

It's selective evidence, regardless of how detailed it may be.

Ignoring the other camera angles which clearly debunk his theory undercuts his argument.

I agree that SluggoJD has the right to make his case, and if he wrote a diary that presented ALL the evidence and then argued that Obama gave Clinton the finger, I'd read it. But cherry picking the evidence that suits you while ignoring everything else doesn't make for a very convincing argument.

come on" (1.60 / 5)

this is a hilarious diary.   Obama's problem isn't that he's seen sharing a joke he 'didn't' make with his audience, it's that it also fits his narrative, how he plays to his base by being haughty and dismissive of her, like that time he didn't shake her hand because he didn't want to... embarrass her, or he didn't see her, or whatever, and while he was explaining how he hadn't mean to insult her, to leave her with her arm outreached and her hand flapping in the wind as he brushed past her, with a straight face, his friends were laughing.   Later that night after he didn't flip her the bird, on Colbert, he 'joked' about how Hillary wouldn't like finding out she'd fixed Stephen's monitor for Barack to use, that was also a big jolly moment.  Face it Barack supporters, you've got a very funny candidate who likes to play Chicago  Smack Down, with girl candidates, and has the desire to run them out of town, or make them cry, or something. And this is the guy who's the uniter not the divider? Now, where have we heard that before?  Hey, just laugh you think she's a joke too, no?   But there is a reason her supporters aren't all going to vote for him, and it's one that he could try to fix, rather than continue to exploit, for no good reason. he already has the Hilary Hater votes, maybe he could try for women who feel embarrassed by the way he flips her off.

you are right (2.00 / 1)

it is an ongoing theme that allows people to jump to these conclusions- they don't think it is outside the realm of possibility. Combine that with the other, maybe less, but still vulgar gestures that he used in the same speech... Conclusions will be drawn. The audience was what put it over the top for me. Their reactions were eww, ahhh for something- it certainly wasn't because he was bashing Clinton- he always does that.

another sign (2.00 / 1)

is that he waits for the reaction, like when he alluded to his race speech in the faith forum, the audience didn't pick up on it he waited, and they got it a second after he started talking again, so he paused to take his applause.  He does something and then waits a tick to get his praise, and then he waits a tick more, and then he smiles in recognition, sharing their understanding of his 'joke,' that takes such 'smart' people to follow, it'll go over the heads of those dumb rest of us.  He's very obvious.  His supporters don't want to agree because they know it would be offensive and they can't bear the possibility that he's earned my dislike.  It must be because I don't love hope.  Like the terrorists don't love freedom.

Re: come on" (none / 0)

TR'ed for lying.  I'm not even going to touch your handshake or finger nonsense.  That's been thoroughly debunked in the media.  However, many people on here may not have watched Colbert, and you are spewing inaccurate information.  Barack did not joke about Hillary fixing Colbert's screen.  Colbert did.  Then Barack laughed and said, "She probably would [be happy that she fixed it]."  He NEVER SAID that Hillary wouldn't be happy that she fixed the monitor and neither did Colbert.  Please stop telling people the opposite of what happened.

That's funny because the video shows her looking at him.  But I suppose you've had more time to analyze and can tell exactly where the monitor is and that that was in line with Barack and could also read at the same time the telepromptor which was also in line with Barack.  And she could also read the telepromptor at the same time, which said "Scratch face with middle finger now to flip off Hillary."

And even if all that were true, there's still one problem with your argument.  Barack would have been blocking both the telepromptor and the monitor from her view.

Anna,

Come on, you can't really be serious.  I can appreciate that you are an avid womens right advocate and Clinton supporter, I respect that I really do.  You can't really think showing one angle, pointing a reaction shot that would require the person reacting to see through Obama and ignoring the angle that shows it was just a cheek scratch, advances your cause, can you, really?

Tell me why Sen. Clinton's health care plan is better, tell me why her plan to leave Iraq is better, tell me why her position on FISA is better, tell me how her economic plan is better, tell me how her position on any number of real issues is better, I will listen.

When you all do stuff like this it makes you look, well, to be honest, a little delusional.

Re: "the finger" (2.00 / 4)

Well, she's remove not only troops (he promises only troops but thinks maybe 60 to 80K will have to stay years), but contractors, she'll outlaw private armies, and she'll evacuate Iraqis who've helped us.  I have a diary at No Quarter on that and I have yet to hear one Obama supporter defend his plan, you guys ignore that. Her universal insurance keeps costs lower because it's mandated, it'll be like social security, while his lets people game the system. His plan also seems to be low because of high deductibles and restrictions on what's covered. I wouldn't want to be forced to buy that either. Her plans aren't just more detailed, she has the staff to implement them.  And yes, I think he likes to put her down and make jokes at her expense, it seems to please the younger fellows who hate her. Two examples: his appearance on Colbert, and his somehow not seeing her outstretched hand.  Either he really dislikes her and he can't help but be dismissive and rude, or he's playing to his base, and he has that base, so I'm thinking this is the real Obama, he makes things personal.  I guess you think he's a sweetie who's just not always aware of what he's doing?  That's a point of view.

no it hasn't (1.80 / 5)

I've been a woman over sixty years, I know the jokes guys like to play on girls, the put downs, the mocking and sneering.  This is directed at Hillary but we all may feel embarrassed when we see it, because most of us have experienced this kind of behavior ourselves. We usually think it's childish, kind of junior high school.  And offensive. So, you think he was unaware of his finger, and you have dozens of examples of him scratching his face while talking about men? Show me one where he's used that gesture and I'll rethink it.   Sure, I think he flipped her off and I think he enjoyed doing it. What makes me feel good is that you guys don't want to believe it, that shows you wouldn't approve and I think that's really nice.

Re: no it hasn't (2.00 / 1)

Anna,

Thank you for your post above.  I have a sincere question.  Do you think it's just a little possible you are projecting?

It's obvious from you post you have had to deal with plenty of crap, as have most women, I get that.  My question, does Obama have to bear the burden for those wrongs?

To me (I could be wrong) it seems like you assign the worst motivation to everything he does, which seems a little unfair/unrealistic.

It's really too bad you feel so comfortable painting men with such broad strokes, I would never do the same to women.

Re: no it hasn't (2.00 / 1)

Anna,

With all due respect, you're making women with "60 years" of experience look ridiculous.  Even if it were what you claim it is, it would not be an affront to all womankind.  As a fellow woman, I almost feel like I should apologize for your ridiculousness.  But I know your statement probably comes out of some prejudice you've developed from an experience you had with a man or men.  That doesn't make your experience applicable to every exchange between a man and a woman, real or imagined.

Hey everyone (2.00 / 0)

Todd came out against this crap and he isn't biased.  He is a Clinton supporter who cares about the reputation of this site.  Maybe he wants this site to still be a decent forum after the primary battle is over.

Rorsarch test.... (none / 0)

Personally I doubt the finger/s, but it's interesting that some of his supporters saw a whole   pantomime of lyrics from a violent 'gangster rap' song.

Re: Rorsarch test.... (2.00 / 1)

Actually, wiping dirt off your shoulders and shoes predates Jay-Z.  You didn't think Jay-Z invented that saying, did you?

P.S. I like Jay-Z, and I'm a white woman.  What of it?

Good for you Distillery!

I also take back my Generational comment, it would seem 55+ year old Maureen Dowd had no problem understanding the reference, Go Maureen!

After conceding that the Philly debate was tough, he brushed the imaginary lint of Hillary, George and Charlie from his shoulders, in a wordless reference to Jay-Z's lyrics in his anthem about not letting anyone crimp your ride as you cruise from the bottom to the top: "Got some, dirt on my shoulder, could you brush it off for me."

"Violent Gangster Rap Song"

Perhaps you should look in the mirror, because you are projecting.

You might want to reassess your characterization of the song and video.

There is no violence, none in the song or the video.

First scene...

He drives to studio, things aren't going well, he brushes his shoulder off.

Second scene,
Girl argues with her boyfriend in beauty salon, he walks away, she brushes her shoulder off.

Third scene, two Hispanic youth are accosted by police, forced to kneel on the ground but charged with nothing, they brush their shoulder off.

Forth scene,
Beautiful young woman walks down the street is the target of "Cat" calls, brushes her shoulder off.

No guns, no sex, no violence..just your typical generalization.

By the way, this "violent gangster rapper" was CEO of 3 companies and is part owner of New Jersey Nets (NBA team)

Stuff like this make it even more amazing Obama has got as far as he has....

Is this the "New" America?

Any other stereotypes you want to throw around?

Is there a record for dumb-ass diaries on a single subject?

They said HE IS INVOKING THE JAY-Z EFFECT;
I still DON'T GET IT.

If Obama only understands the Black Community; I guess I have a problem with Barack.  How can he be the President of the most diverse nation in the world??

Re: Karl Rove weighs in on "the finger" (2.00 / 1)

You can't be serious, did you do know most Hip Hop/Rap is purchased by WHITE people.  It's not a race issue, it's a generational issue.  Below the topic discussed in the Wall Street Journal.  If your going to make it a Black/White issue at least do it on factual information.  Jay Z (like all hip hop) has more albums purchased by White people than all other ethnic groups combined.  I guess he was speaking to the diversity of America, no?

I guess we aren't as progressive as we thought.

Sad day

And so my inquiries led me to MRI, where I found out that this is a statistical story with a mostly happy ending. Conventional wisdom, for once, turns out to be mostly correct -- with the caveat that there's a lot we don't know about race and rap sales.

Each year, MRI researchers go into about 25,000 homes nationwide and talk to residents for an hour about their media habits. Then they leave a thick booklet -- last year's is 104 pages -- full of questions about 6,000 brands in 500 categories. As compensation for answering all the questions about their buying habits, respondents get between $20 and $75, depending on where they live, says Anne Marie Kelly, MRI's vice president of marketing and strategic planning. The overall response rate among households that MRI initially contacts is about 40%.

Among the questions MRI asks is whether the respondent purchased pre-recorded rap audio tapes & compact discs in the last 12 months. MRI (which United Business Media PLC agreed to sell to GfK Aktiengesellschaft last month) sent me the results for 1995, 1999 and 2001, for both adults 18 to 34 and for all adults. For both groups, the percentage of recent rap buyers who are white was about 70% to 75% for all three years.

Re: Karl Rove weighs in on "the finger" (2.00 / 1)

Recommended again for truth and dissent.

I was very disheartened to see the other diary deleted.  Obviously, the readers here enjoyed it, since it was #1 on the recommended list, but maybe someone in charge had an agenda against it.  I don't know.  I can say that the more drastic the lengths people go to to conceal this issue, the more intriguing it becomes.  "What are they so afraid of?"

It must be that the anti-finger arguments are so weak that the only solution is to silence anyone who speaks of it.  That just makes it the forbidden fruit of the blogosphere.

I don't think it's a big enough deal to warrant so much attention but the rabid unilateral deletions of diaries on this topic just kindles the controversy.  The videos of the obscene gesture are flooding myspace/Facebook (I've gotten several today) and percolating into the MSM.  It's impossible to sweep every particle of dust under a carpet!

I don't see the harm in letting people discuss it.

embarrassed that I dignify this with a comment (none / 0)

But just to show how absolutely shoddy this diary is, if you had bothered to look from a different angle you would have noticed that the so-called "hidden-man" is actually a woman.  Furthermore, in the frames you skip between 1:24 and 1:34, it is clear that "rose colored lady" initiated the conversation so was not "filled in on the joke."

It's all here:

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/ main500251.shtml?id=4025010n

How in the world can you go on such a sanctimonious rampage without even bothering to look at other angles?

Thanks for providing more evidence (none / 0)

Wow, so hidden man is a woman, big deal.

This new angle shows another person who gets the joke immediately...not that you care - the woman in the top right corner of the screen reacts immediately when Obama does his finger thing.

And of course it confirms the other video - that the crowd doesn't become lively until he touches his cheek.

Thanks ashriver!
