POLL: Are you an activist for the Democratic Party?

Simple question:
Do you consider yourself a member of the "activist base of the Democratic Party"?.  I mean, we're all here looking to have some voice, to be heard, sometimes to influence others, or sometimes simply to rant.  What's your story?

I have done much, but not enough,  If anything, I wish I had more influence on my family, all conservatives of the Rush Limabaugh variety.
Ouchy!

Re: Rush people (2.00 / 2)

I always thought that his appeal lies with people who are looking for a "father figure" to tell them what to think.  He's not asking anyone to think, he's just raising his voice.  Worst part is, most of his show is about himself.  Listen in for half and hour, I dare you, and you will hear that Rush (the subject), and what people are saying about Rush (the subject), comes up at least once.

Are you an activist for the Democratic Party? (2.00 / 1)

I had to think about this answer. My mom always said I was born an activist and got involved in any issue of injustice since I was old enough to speak and then to write. I was an activist for people, animals, the environment and issues and when I became old enough to vote the democratic party seemed more in line with MY ideals, but am I an activist FOR the democratic party? NO.

Re: Are you an activist for the Democratic Party? (none / 0)

Then you might say that you are an activist for your "cause", and your cause may overlap some with a candidate's, or a party's, platform.  Have you worked to support a candidate for office, any office, ever?

Re: Are you an activist for the Democratic Party? (none / 0)

I've never voted for a Republican (except twice in a non partisan position in local elections) and yes I've worked to get Democrats elected local, state and federal. That said- I don't do it FOR the party I do it for our country and for people and not all dems are on the same page and don't support those who are not.

As an 'activist' for causes I have to work with (and against) Republicans and Democrats- not all Republicans are jerks and not all Democrats are saints. Both my Senators are dems. I live in a Republican district and my House rep is Republican and will lie right to my face while smiling, however my state Republican legislator is a very willing participant in many causes (thought to be dem positions)and shows up for the cause and not just for a photo op like my congressman.
