Why are you Supporting a Republican?

The one progressive who is expert on the economy has compared all of the candidate's plans on health and economy, and economic recovery says continually:

Obama's plans are as close to republican as they can get.
Clinton's plans are solid and viable.  Obama's are not.

Elizabeth Edwards is endorsing Clinton's health plan.

Today, Krugman talks about what seriously bad shape we are
all in economically.

Do Obama supporters THINK?  Or is it a glaze-eyed
snark fest kind of thing?

I have yet to read one thoughtful, convincing, TRUTHFUL
piece on Obama.

If you have to lie about your candidate, if you have to
go out and Boo his competition, and harass his
supporters in the blogs.

BUT YOU CANNOT WRITE ONE COMPELLING REASON TO VOTE FOR HIM,

don't you think you ought to leave your snarking glaze-eyed
buddies, go to a private place and think things through?

I love that video (2.00 / 1)

I'd almost forgotten about that one.

The stupid "Obama supporters don't know anything and are glassy-eyed zombies" thing didn't last too long in the media, did it?

Hey, even high school student, one-liner writing, Obama supporters like us need to sleep, right?

Re: Why are you Supporting a Republican? (2.00 / 3)

This diary will convert many, many Obama supporters.  Although I probably would have "seen the light" if you had called me more names and perhaps used some all caps and bold combos.  That's always helpful.

Shorter version of this diary:  Paul Krugman likes Hillary better, therefore Obama is a Republican.

As an Obama supporter (for the primary) I agree with your Trickster.  I could have sworn I saw this cat saying different stuff, but even if he isn't playing both sides, this diary certainly is no help to Clinton.

Obama's foreign policy agenda goes further than Clinton's so I guess she's a Republican, too.

No way. No how. No McCain.

Its too bad the diarist took the truth, and (2.00 / 1)

twisted it into an ugly hit diary.

Hillary Clinton really is more progressive than Obama.

And most Americans really don't even know it.

So, this diary started off with a rock solid premise.

But this was no way of going about advertising the truth.

In fact, you've hurt the cause by using the truth in a negative fashion.

Obama supporters are mindless drones: Check
Obama supporters are pathological liars: Check
Obama's infiltration of manufacturing unions has reached Orwellian proportions: Check

I will now count up the Anti-Obama points in each hit piece.

THIS DIARY: 5

I'm sorry, but you don't even make today's high score list.

Not a problem (2.00 / 1)

I'm glad to be of service, especially when my substantive, progressive, non-hit-piece diaries generally go without major commentary or reccomendations.

The least I can do is summarize and grade ridiculous neocon-serving tripe.

Your should post the full list as a diary (none / 0)

That way you could catch the R-E-C-C-E-D disease again.

Mojo for the list.  The Association of Annoyed Medical Students Chapter 9347 approves of it.

Maybe, though.  We'll see.

Re: Why are you Supporting a Republican? (none / 0)

As far as I can tell the only thing Obama is running on is "I'm not Hillary" and not part of Washington, so what else can an Obama supporter do but dish Hillary. I've read about two thoughtful diaries on here from genuine Obama supporters saying why the are voting for Obama, but other than that all I see are invalid 'talking points'. When I try to engage in an issue debate, which I've seen others do, I get followed around by some ding dong who takes the Obama talking points off of Obama's website (like I haven't already read them and seen the nothingness in them) as some PROOF Obama takes a stand on something. IMO Obama has been very careful not to take a stand on anything controversial and even he has given up the I was against the war when I was just a citizen and not privy to any classified documents or hearings in the Senate. Possibly because he is now voting for the war while he is in the senate.

I see Hillary take a strong stand against something and Obama waits about 5 or 6 days to see if she gets any fall out and then takes the same stance.

It keeps him an unknown and that's the position he wants to take but I can't vote for another someone who likes to remain secret...that's the status quo we have now.

I'm sure I'll hear transcend and transparency and blah blah blah in reply- but I havne't seen any of either in his campaign.

Re: Why are you Supporting a Republican? (none / 0)

So which are we going to criticize Obama for, one or the other, but not both; you pick:

  • He is outspending her 5 to 1 on TV in PA
  • He wants to remain unknown

Please note that both attack lines are mutually exclusive.

Oh, one last thing, what does it mean to "dish Hillary"?

WOW (2.00 / 2)

I see the light.  I am now a Hillary Clinton fanatic.  It only took being insulted a bunch and called a zombie to convert me.  Thank you so much for saving me from my rational positions.  Normally I would demolish you point by pointing the user guidelines saying that one shouldn't bash people personally but you have truly changed my mind.  I mean why act with reason when I can have others tell me how to think.  Normally I would do this with 1 sentence but truly internetstar your wonderful rhetoric has changed me forever.

I guess I truly didn't know that thinking for oneself is being a mindless zombie.

I could go on a lot longer but I have stuff to do like study.

This diary is a rude, belligerent POS. (2.00 / 4)

You don't really support Hillary. If you did, you wouldn't be embarrassing all of us with ludicrous, pointless, insulting diaries like this. You also wouldn't be encouraging us to boo Obama at rallies. Real Hillary supporters don't do that kind of crap. You're just trolling, and I wish you'd step away from the keyboard. I'd rather not be lumped in with the likes of you, so quit pretending to support my candidate. Your behavior is very disturbing to the people who've actually donated our time and money to her campaign.
Even John McCain lusts after teh engels.
