1,309,965

As of 10:09 CT that is how many people have donated to Obama for America.

14,265,507 American citizens have voted Barack Obama for president and many more will.

Back on that cold day, February 10th. Who would have thought that?

Not a whole lot of people. But a army of millions of people worked there tail off and focused on the goal. And that is how we have come so far.

The only way a movement like that can be stopped is by distraction.

By taking remarks out of context and claiming someone who was paying collage loans off a few years ago is a elitist.

A elitist? A elitist?

1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
2. a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
   b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

You mean Barack Obama, the guy who was a community organizer? Elitist?

But that is the game that has to be played. It makes us all distracted so we spend time worrying and not doing anything.

We can't fall into that trap.

I don't have a whole lot to say. But if you are worried about this then stop it and do something about it. That is the only thing that will help.

Hit the phones, hit the road, write a letter to the editor, go to a event, volunteer, donate. Do SOMETHING.

As Paul Wellstone said, the future will not belong to those who stand on the sidelines. We don't have time for distraction. It's time for action.

And since it is probably too late to do many of those things (except for donating) I will leave you with two videos to reflect on.

and

Yes. We. Can.

Nice Diary.

There is a Pro Obama Diary on the Wreck List now.
Were TWO Pro Obama Diaries to get on at once would make a lot of heads around here explode.

Wonderful diary! Got a new credit card in the mail two weeks ago and I used it for the first time over the weekend when 'bittergate' broke.

Donated more than I have ever. And will continue to do so.

With every manufactured "gaffe"... he will receive more of my cash.

Re: 1,309,965 (none / 0)

That reminds me, I havn't made my donation this month yet, gonna go do that now.

The elitist thing is just the latest distraction. We've seen these before. But I still smile every time I watch him go after John McCain on who is out of touch. "Out of touch? Out of touch? I mean, John McCain--it took him three tries to finally figure out that the home foreclosure crisis was a problem and to come up with a plan for it, and he's saying I'm out of touch?"

Just donated again to Hillary.  Think she is a better candidate overall and MUCH better for the general election.

Re: 1,309,965 (none / 0)

Unfortunatley, SEnator Obama is now poised to lose Hispanic voters, a very dissapointing first for a Democratic canidiate. As shown by Kerry's lackluster performance with that voting bloc in 2004, they are key to a Democratic victory. Unfortunatley, they will vote for Hillary...but not for Barack.
