Hillary: New Radio Ad, Setting The Record Straight

Team Hillary is on a roll.  They put out some GREAT tv ads, as have been shared on various diaries here, this week.  And they show the tremendous support that she has, featuring Mayor Nutter of Phili, Governor Rendell of PA and Senator Bayh of IN.  But the one special ad I particularly like starred Hillary herself, as a little girl in Scranton with memories of Pinochle.

Today they put together a full 60 second radio spot "Setting The Record Straight".  And man did they.  It's a home run.

Tonight the good news continues, as Hillary receives the endorsement of "Former Pittsburgh Mayor [and Super Delegate] Sophie Masloff will endorse Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton when the New York senator appears this evening for the Allegheny County Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at Heinz Field.

So lets keep the good news and excitement moving forward like Hillary, and remember, you can donate and choose where your contribution can go to help turnout Pennsylvania for Hillary.

Re: Hillary: New Radio Ad, Setting The Record Stra (2.00 / 0)

I heard that Obama put up an ad on the radio the same day to refute the Clinton Ad, saying that only one candidate took money from oil/gas PACS. Well, she did take some money from oil/gas PACS, $2300. That's right a whopping twenty three hundred.

The info on her PAC contributions is at opensecrets.org

For what it's worth (2.00 / 1)

Here is the dishonest Obama response/hit ad: (Start radio ad) Across Pennsylvania, we're living the problems. An economy in shambles. Families struggling. Gas prices close to four dollars a gallon. What's Hillary Clinton's answer? Misleading negative ads. Here's the truth. While she's played political games, it's Barack Obama who's taken on the oil companies, demanding higher gas mileage standards and a larger investment in alternative energy. It's Obama who's worked to strip tax breaks from the oil giants as they roll up record profits. And he's the only candidate who doesn't take a dime from oil company PACs or lobbyists. The only one. The Federal Election Commission reports that Clinton's taken more from Big Oil and other PACs and lobbyists than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican. The same old Washington politics isn't going to lift our economy or bring down gas prices. So if you've had your fill of that... Vote for change we can believe in, Barack Obama for President. Just so everyone is clear (none / 0)

What you've posted is what the candidates got from private citizens who have contributed to those campaigns.

If you want to see what PAC contributions Obama has gotten in this cycle, you can find it at opensecrets.

From oil/gas he got $1000.  So he got $1000, and she got $2300.

Big deal...

Re: Just so everyone is clear (none / 0)

Well, yes, as Hillary points out, they can't receive money from the Corpoarations as Obama alludes to in his TV ads, because it is against the law.  So the only money that they can get is individually from the employees of those companies or Pacs.

Re: Just so everyone is clear (2.00 / 1)

Ask Obama, he's complaining about it, because apparentlly he only has himself to compare to that when he takes money from them, they have his vote.  Like Exelon (Nuke Energy) and them dishing out over $225,000.00 from their employees and getting him to support their interests.  And Financial institutions when they started bankrolling him and he then opposed the Interest Rae Cap, making them very happy as indicated in Barack Obama Inc in the Harpers interview.

Hillary knows how to govern and doesn't get compromised as Obama does.

Re: Just so everyone is clear (2.00 / 1)

How many times does this back and forth have to continue? Clinton people claim obama took money from the oil industry, obama people point out it was from the individuals not the people and that Clinton takes money from PACs and lobbyists which clinton does not.

Aren't you tired of this? Can't you do this in your sleep?

In this story, you'll see that Obama was once a PAC king, raising as much as 2/3 of his money from PACS!

Red Herring... (none / 0)

O don't know where your numbers come from.  Opensecrets.org says that Obama took $12,137.  Clinton took $713 K.

That's a pretty small fraction of the total raised by both campaigns.

I don't think it's as big an issue as Obama is trying to make it out to be.

When Clinton supporters organize marches to kvetch about media coverage, they're being strong, strong, strong.

When Obama supporters respond to arguments with evidence and logic, they're on the defensive or whining.

That's the Clinton rules.

Oil likes Obama.  After all, Sen. Obama voted for that Energy Act of 2005, pushed by Cheney, which had huge giveaways to oil companies.

Re: Hillary: New Radio Ad, Setting The Record Stra (none / 0)

What stage of grief are we on?

Denial: "This can't be happening to Hillary."  Been there...

Anger: "Why Hillary? It's not fair.  It's Obama's fault."  Aah this is it..

Bargaining: "Just let her be the VP." Not quite yet

Depression: "I'm so sad, I'm not voting?"

Acceptance: "It's going to be OK."

So we're still on anger, waiting for bargaining...
