Hillary Gets Media Lovin' From Wingnut Sugar Daddy

Today Hillary tried to revive the Reverend Wright controversy in Pennsylvania using an Interview in the Pittsbugh Tribune Review

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a wide-ranging interview today with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ... said she would have left her church if her pastor made the sort of inflammatory remarks Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor made.

"He would not have been my pastor, you don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."

This is the flagship paper of the Dick Scaife, who is a GOP sugar daddy. This is exactly like if she was in Sun Myung Moon's paper the Washington Times.

Scaife generouslsy bankrolled many efforts to get the Clintons

One August day in 1994, while gossiping about politics over lunch on Nantucket, Richard Mellon Scaife, the Pittsburgh billionaire and patron of conservative causes, made a prediction. "We're going to get Clinton,"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/pol itics/special/clinton/stories/scaifemain 050299.htm

Not only that, Dick Scaife funded many of the groups that were after the Clintons all through the 1990's, and one of his reporters wrote a book on the death of Vince Foster.

Scaife also funded Newt Gingrich's think tanks and helped fund Rick Santorums campaigns.

So where should Hillary have done her interview? The rival to Scaifes paper is the Pittsburgh Post Gazette which helped take down Santorum by questioning his residency, while Dick Scaife was funding Santorum and backing him in the Pgh Tribune Review.

Scaife also helps fund steeple jacking groups that infiltrate and disrupt congregations like the Institute for Religion and Democracy and the Center For National Policy.

About those tax returns (none / 0)

Stuff like this just makes me suspect that they will show the Clintons have been taking GOP money.

Re: About those tax returns (none / 0)

I suspect Obama would have republican contributors as well.

After all we live in the US and it is a free country.

I am trying to make some sense out of your diary and comment.

Re: About those tax returns (none / 0)

I assumed the newspaper conducted this interview for the purpose of selecting candidates to endorse.
No??

After Fox News whipped up a tizzy over Obama's religion and foreign childhood schools, surely Obama would never give them an interview.
Oh wait -

Re: About those tax returns (2.00 / 1)

exactly.

Lets just assume we wake up tomorrow and this paper endorses Obama , I bet this same diariest would be singing its praise.

When he was in trouble with the Wright thing he appeared on Hannity & Colmes , now its right back to giving them the finger.

lol

Re: About those tax returns (none / 0)

Exactly!
And this diary is a good example of Obamamites FAUX OUTRAGE over eeny weeny teeny bits of information they piece together to make a mountain!

It's called smearing. Not the kind of behavior most people expect from followers of a "unity" candidate.

Talk About "Low Information Voters" (none / 0)

Re: Talk About "Low Information Voters" (2.00 / 1)

The Reno gazette endorsed Obama in Nevada .

remember the trip he took to interview for their endorsement where he pronounced his admiration for Reagan in Nevada.

I don't recall any outcry from any of his supporters , the endorsement was even touted in diaries on this site.

Maybe you haven't been here for that long.

The RGJ is worse than the washington times , it is a right wing rag in Nevada , Obama was pandering to them and he basically threw Clinton under the bus and lumped him with Nixon , then elevated Reagan over Clinton.

I think the faux outrage is overplayed

Excuse me (none / 0)

I heard you're the guy that wrote this article.  I'm looking for the part that supports the headline.  Could you tell me where that is?  Thanks.

Re: Hillary Gets Media Lovin' From Wingnut (none / 0)

You are doing a guilt-by-association attack based on who controls the holding company that owns the newspaper that interviewed the candidate? Silly.

Your attempt to change the subject to "the issues" is irrelevant.

Re: Hillary Gets Media Lovin' From Wingnut (none / 0)

I agree it's silly, but the PPG is really not the type of paper Hillary should be giving favors to.  It is wingnut controlled ever since this guy took over, and the bulk of the good staff left the paper when it happened.

Re: Hillary Gets Media Lovin' From Wingnut (2.00 / 1)

Shall we examine the corporate ownership structure of every newspaper Obama grants an interview? I refuse to do that, it is just plain silly, and smacks of censorship. Where does it stop? Should Clinton/Obama refuse to be interviewed by the WSJ? How about the WaPost, they are trending neocon these days. How about the NYT - does it depend who does the interview?

If they quote her accurately, and don't editorialize in the news story, why shouldn't they interview her? I would bet that she is willing to do an interview with the liberal Pittsburg paper, if they ask her.

Without Scaife, No Clinton Impeachment (none / 0)

Scaife is the guy that bankrolls many of the GOP think tanks, investigations of the Clintons, and even the whacked out conspiracy groups that said Bill Clinton had his old girlfriends murdered, and on and on.

He's a wingnut billionaire sugar daddy right up the with Sun Myung Moon.

Without Scaife, the GOP would not exist in its modern form.

For Democratic activists, this guy is Satan.

NO (none / 0)

PPG is a special case, and I don't care about the ideology as much as the fact that all the quality staff is gone. It's gutted and not worthwhile as a news source.

2 Pgh Papers PTR - Republican PPG-Democrat (none / 0)

Both papers have been around many decades, but Scaife bought the Pgh Press and changed it to the Pgh Tribune Review (name of his original Greensburg paper) PTR - people that funded Santorum PPost Gazette - paper that hounded Santorum over his residence

Re: Hillary Gets Media Lovin' From Wingnut Sugar D (2.00 / 1)

This is outrageous to you, or trying to revive the issue?

Seems pretty much common sense to say she would have left that church.  For political reason,s he should  have too.

Sad irony (none / 0)

No different than any number of Pro-Clinton diarists around here...

Bill Kristol, NewsMax, Debbie Schlussel, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, FoxNews, Charles Krauthammer, etc...

Many folks like to think that they're just using the wingnuts as "useful idiots", temporarily...

Too bad the folks who do so miss the sad, tragic irony of it.
