Obama's Jailhouse Conversion

Jeremiah Wright screamed "God damn America!" and Barack Obama didn't have the balls to confront him.

It isn't about race.

It's about hypocrisy.

Obama talking about racial harmony AFTER he got caught playing along with Jeremiah Wright is about as dignified as Eliot Spitzer talking about marital fidelity AFTER he got caught with a hooker.

kid oakland makes a pitiful attempt to play the race card at the bottom of the comments, but it isn't about race.

It doesn't matter what color the pastor or congregation may be. As soon as whoever starts screaming "God damn America!" it's time for anybody who wants to be President to confront this hate speech or walk out.

Playing along with hate-America rhetoric and hoping nobody notices... It isn't acceptable for any candidate of any color.

And this qualifies as a "Diary" under MYDD's rules how exactly?

THE (2.00 / 1)

TRUTH!

Ernest Hemmingway's Black Beans Cuban Style (1.85 / 7)

1 pound black beans
½ cup olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon each:
cumin
salt
vinegar
olive oil
1 large bay leaf
1 tablespoon sugar
1 pimento (red pepper) sliced
Soak beans overnight in 10 cups of water. Cook beans in the same water used for soaking over
low heat 1.5 - 2 hours, until tender. Get olive oil hot in a skillet and cook together the onion,
garlic, green pepper, tomato sauce, ground pepper, cumin, bay leaf until onion is soft. Add to
beans and cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Add sugar, salt, vinegar, pimento, and the 1
teaspoon of olive oil. Cook slowly 25 more minutes, until it reaches thickness you like.
It can be served hot as a side dish or with steamed rice. The flavor improves with age. It's always
better the second day.

Thanks For The Troll Rating Jacob (1.50 / 2)

I'd troll rate your garbage freeper hit diary too, if I could.

What are you complaining about? (2.00 / 1)

Responding to a comment with a recipe is insufferably rude and elitist, not to mention anti-thought.  I don't know what troll ratings could possibly be for if it's wrong to use them to comment on such maneuvers.

So it's really true (2.00 / 1)

A bunch of Kos Obama supporters really did jump over here en masse this week.

Re: Obama's Jailhouse Conversion (2.00 / 2)

You can criticize Sen. Obama's association with Rev. Wright all you want but your chronology is wrong.  Obama has been talking about racial reconciliation for years.  You might think it's hypocritical, but it's there, disproving your conversion thesis.

Well Your Subject Line Doesn't Make Much Sense (2.00 / 2)

But then the diary doesn't make much sense either.

Well..... (2.00 / 2)

that's one perspective..here is another.

There are moments -- increasingly rare in risk-abhorrent modern campaigns -- when politicians are called upon to bare their fundamental beliefs. In the best of these moments, the speaker does not just salve the current political wound, but also illuminates larger, troubling issues that the nation is wrestling with.

Inaugural addresses by Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt come to mind, as does John F. Kennedy's 1960 speech on religion, with its enduring vision of the separation between church and state. Senator Barack Obama, who has not faced such tests of character this year, faced one on Tuesday. It is hard to imagine how he could have handled it better.

Where's Obama in the Video? (2.00 / 1)

I didn't see Obama. Can you tell me a frame or a time on the video to look for him?

Bill Foster would agree, Barack Obama has coat tails.

Your racial divisiveness (2.00 / 1)

is appalling.

This does not reflect well on MyDD or the Clinton campaign.
