Yes that makes me a little happier.  But if he followed Tucker out the door it would be better.

MSNBC is bad, Fox News is good. (none / 0)

Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are good for democracy, and Keith Olbermann is the anti-christ.

Re: MSNBC is bad, Fox News is good. (2.00 / 1)

Keith Olbermann isn't the anti-Christ.  That is Dick Cheney.  Keith Olbermann is just a sportscaster with a very large ego.  Hey, does anyone remember that movie "Broadcast News"?  From the 80's I believe?  The character who came in from sports and became a news anchor.. and was looked down on by the real news people?  That is Keith Olbermann.

Okay. But Olbermann isn't (none / 0)

nearly as good as Hannity though.

Re: MSNBC is bad, Fox News is good. (none / 0)

Olbermann's special comments segment is the only thing we have right now even close to the legacy of Kronkite or Murrow.  You may hate him but that really is what he represents when he does those.

Now the rest of his show is just the good down home sarcasm my friends and I all practice.

Not especially.  Hey, is he the person who is sometimes referred to as Tweety?  Why is that?  Just curious.

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

because people like bitching about chris matthews for mostly irrelevant or silly reasons.

It's because his large blond head looks like Tweety the canary in the (old) cartoons.

Happy Now? (none / 0)

Not really, still feel "too little too late" about it. We had to have a mini-revolt in your Fox Attacks Obama thread to even get this much.

Did it ever occur to Obama supporters that if you would have done more to defend Hillary, instead of joining in the pile-on and parroting Republican talking points to begin with, that Obama wouldn't be in this mess now (of his own making)? Do you realize that the "she's too divisive" meme has lead Obama down the same damn road?

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

Mathews is a misogynist prick who has made a career out of hating the Clintons, he is a mean spirited jerk who has made it on ugly attack comments and is a disgrace to reporters everywhere.

Most of these national, D.C. media types are notorious for back bitting insults about anyone and everyone.  They are some of the sleaziest trash talkers and rumor mongers.

They get these wanna be pretend reporters who are ugly and make the same scripted comments written for them because they don't come up with anything original but repeat opinions and try to convince the viewer that their faux logic which is warped in the first place and then continue to repeat it as if it is fact, which is is not only wrong but  shallow insults dressed up as if it even means anything.  Their assessments are void of any real value, but they try to sway public opinion anyway with their insulting trash talk..

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

This does make me a bit happer but let's be real, we had to kick and fight to even get the issue of fairness raised about Sen. Clinton.

BTW, no one in the  MSM is the Democrat's friend and the sooner the supporters of BO realizes this the better.

The Misogynistic,Sexist and Noisy Broadcasting Service (MSNBC) will turn against any Democrat in favor of McCain. Remember what they did to Gore, Bill and Kerry? They are just warming up.

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

did you guys ever think that the MSM might be more respetive to supporting our candidates if you guys would stop trying to boycott them over every minor shit thing that occurs?

BO was getting a shitload of good traffic from the MSM then the liberals started freaking out and demanding they start to attack him like they did clinton, and now what doi we have?

thanks you fucking retards.

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

it's the essential reality of the situation.
How do we gain headway into getting mainstream media support, when an essential factor of the liberal/progressive ideology has been that the main stream media is evil?

No one wants to support the guys that hate them, just look at the stupid attacks on keith olbermann. A man who has essentially touted the progressive ideological line for two years now, and now he's getting discredited because he supports barack? way to engender support.

At a certain point it becomes silly, how can we blame chris matthews for not supporting our guy when the liberal blogs have consistently tried to get him fired over generally petty shit?

He crossed the line with some of his hillary comments and he apologized for it, but the vast majority of the evidence against him, is that he compliments the women on his show as being attractive.
Saying a chick is hot is not sexist, saying a chick is hot, and that's all she's good for is sexist.   chris matthews doesn't, as a matter of fact he seems to have the most women on his show, and consitently brings in female commentators, same went for tucker carlson, who brought in rachel maddow to the msnbc commentator line.

MSNBC has been the most favorable to the progressives, they brought in liberal commentators who aren't complete jokes, lord knows rachel maddow is my hero. They let keith olbermann tote the progressive line.

Keith olbermann lead the charge against the telecom companies when the wiretapping contoversy hit, and he was the most vocal agitator against the military commission act. Chris Matthews and David Shuster were the loudest voices of outrage over the plame outing and the DOJ attorney firings.
Tucker Carlson, douchebag he may beborught in liberal commentators who weren't just shills to debate with.
but people seem to have forgotten all that in this pointless outrage over which candidate the commentators support.

But here's the thing i don't get, Chris Matthews has essentially said he's a barack supporter, he's made no real attempt to hide this fact. But we want to get him fired, before one of the most important general elections of our lifetime? we want to get a sympathetic voice for the likely democratic nominee fired?

that's fucking stupid.

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

Matthews should have been fired years ago.  If the left stands with flaming gender-bashers like Matthews, you no longer stand with progressive ideals.  Females will leave the democratic party in droves - and rightfully so.

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

Yeah!  I mean, why on earth should we try and actually VET candidates by investigating their links to racist and divisives preachers?  Especially when Obama says he "transcends" race?  I think we should try and keep the news of his preacher hidden!  The republicans would NEVER find it or bring it up!

And why on earth would we want a candidate's ties to crooked investors like Rezko to be exposed NOW?  Why not wait until october??

I'd be happy for a press that actually reports without using the bully pulpit to make and break kings and queens.  I'd be happy if I could actually figure out what the TRUTH of something is instead of having to flip back and forth between stations so I could get some kind of iterative average of the biased opionions flying around.

A fair press is essential to a democracy. These press elites can and do turn on the drop of a dime.  Dont' for a second think that they are on "your side" - at any time, ever.

You railed about Fox being biased, yet Olbermann, Matthews and the other MSNBC train wrecks get a pass because they pull for YOUR candidate?

THAT'S LAME

Re: Matthews Attacks Too (none / 0)

I wonder if anyone has seen that movie, "Best in Show" about the dog show - a comedy - with the out-of-control announcer, played by Fred Willard.  That guy just gets more and more outrageous as the dog show goes on.  At one point, he's sunken so low, that he's flat out asking the other commentator how much he thinks he could bench press.  It's hilarious.

That's the way I feel about Matthews.  I half expect him to say, "How much do you think I could bench press..." at some point.  He's such a complete and utter buffoon who has shown his dirty-old-man flavored sexism on air like it was the most natural and accepted thing in the world.  One time I was watching and he made the camera operator keep zooming in on one of the young female correspondents and then mentioned to her that he liked the close-ups of her and she should wear skirts more often (or something equally as creepy - I'm paraphrasing).  I felt dirty after watching that - like I'd just seen an old man viewing a peep show.  But.. I digress.

Anyway, the bunch of clips you've put altogether like that, makes Matthews sound like the Best in Show commentator.  This guy is a flaming sexist gross dirty-old-mannish creepy jerk.  If he weren't actually serious, you could package clips like those and sell them as comedy.

This guy is tragic.  Anyone who thinks that Matthews will keep giving Obama the love should he be the nominee is fooling himself.  Matthews had a hand in making Obama, and he will help bring him down once aqua-velva-esque McCain comes on the scene.
