[Updated w/Link] Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi...Picks up 5 new Pledged Delegates.

This is going to be brief but I have seen similar diaries by Obama supporter when he picks up a couple of delegates here and there through revised book-keeping. So let's applaud Hillay Clinton now when erased Obama's gain in Mississippi within a day with such ease! An AP Newsflash about an hour ago tells us the following: Sen. Barack Obama picked up five more delegates than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Mississippi's Democratic primary Tuesday. But Clinton erased the gain Wednesday after final election results became available from a couple of Super Tuesday contests. ... Obama won the primary with more than 60 percent of the vote, according to unofficial returns. But Clinton was able to hold down Obama's delegate gains by winning one of the state's four congressional districts. Obama carried the other three. Clinton eliminated the gain when she picked up delegates based on final results from the New York primary and the Colorado caucuses, both of which were held Feb. 5. Clinton gained four delegates in Colorado and one delegate in New York.

Update [2008-3-12 23:14:32 by ScottinNJ]: Link to the AP story is here. As pointed out in the comments she apparently also picked up 3 new super delegates

In any event . . . (2.00 / 2)

Obama is still winning. And as his campaign says:

When we won Iowa, the Clinton campaign said it's not the number of states you win, it's "a contest for delegates."

When we won a significant lead in delegates, they said it's really about which states you win.

When we won South Carolina, they discounted the votes of African-Americans.

When we won predominantly white, rural states like Idaho, Utah, and Nebraska, they said those didn't count because they won't be competitive in the general election.

When we won in Washington State, Wisconsin, and Missouri -- general election battlegrounds where polls show Barack is a stronger candidate against John McCain -- the Clinton campaign attacked those voters as "latte-sipping" elitists.

And now that we've won more than twice as many states, the Clinton spin is that only certain states really count.

   But the facts are clear.

For all their attempts to discount, distract, and distort, we have won more delegates, more states, and more votes.

Meanwhile, more than half of the votes that Senator Clinton has won so far have come from just five states. And in four of these five states, polls show that Barack would be a stronger general election candidate against McCain than Clinton.

And he also wins the 2008 Primary's George Orwell Medal of honor for "true speak" when after sweeping SC primary with like 105% of AA vote he has his supporters chant "Race does not matter!"

Yeah new rule.

AAs cannot vote for Obama.  Old, white women cannot vote for Clinton.

Let's just the virile white males decide the election.

That would be a good idea, right?

please....

Obama's undercover brothers (none / 0)

in Utah, Idaho, Washington state, Minnesota, Vermont, Wisconsin and Illinois also were a big help. Oh, and Iowa, and the others.

Who knew so many black people were living peacefully amongst their farmer neighbors AND NO ONE EVEN KNEW they were black.

Re: Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi... (none / 0)

Excellent news! Oh let me get out my calculator and see how how far ahead Obama is among pledged delegates. Oh My God! An astounding +96 according to my MATH. Guess we had better jump on his bandwagon now while the going is good.  LOL

Re: Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi... (2.00 / 1)

Either your calculator is wrong, or you don't know how to use it; Obama is up 142 PD's, per DemConWatch; 163, per RealClearPolitics, which is probably closer to accurate.

I have heard so many figures floating around that it makes your head spin. Anyway....who cares..the pledged delegate count is not going to decide this election

This is great... (2.00 / 0)

Nothing is more democratic and transparent than a process that takes over a month to figure out who actually won what. Except maybe the Texas caucuses, where we'll probably never find out the results.

We have to move to primaries in every state for 2012, with the national winner getting the nomination. We can still send delegates to wave signs on the convention floor and applaud after every other sentence in a speech, but this whole thing is just nuts.

Re: Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi... (none / 0)

First they scorn liberals, then black people, and now, people who can do math.

You don't need an exit poll to tell you Clinton's core support is people who never finished high school.

Thanks!  As an HRC supporter with an MBA and a JD, I'm glad you think I can't do math or didn't finish high school!

This Obama guy has such "humble" supporters ... much like the candidate himself. I guess I should return my Ph.D. as well since I was just told that I never finished high school!

Re: Hillary Negates Obama's gain in Mississippi... (none / 0)

Didn't you know, they are all college educated with PHD's and very affluent...at least that is what the exit polling is showing for Obama. The high school graduates and less fortunate are idiots in their eyes. The Obama supporters seem to have no shame, can you imagine having them in the white house, they would deport all those who don't have college degrees....which by the way is the majority of the democratic electorate.
