Nancy Pelosi Says No "Dream Ticket"

Careful what you say, Hillary, it just might come back and bite you.  The backlash against Clinton saying that McCain would be a better commander in chief is in full force (see the video here):

Nancy Pelosi told Boston TV that a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket is "impossible."

"I think that the Clinton administration (sic) has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Obama. I think that either way is impossible," she said.

Please urge Hillary Clinton to stop helping the Republicans by lauding McCain's ability to be commander-in-chief.  This CANNOT help the Democratic Party!

Re: Nancy Pelosi Says No "Dream Ticket" (none / 0)

Pelosi seems to be angry at Clinton's comments. Definitely sounds like a superdelegate vote for Obama.

Re: Nancy Pelosi Says No "Dream Ticket" (none / 0)

It's bigger than a single super delegate.

This represents the leanings of at least 85 undeclared super delegates if you look at Pelosi's inner circle in the House. This is Nancy basically sticking it to Hillary, big time.

Watch for super delegate declarations soon. Nancy will do whatever it takes to protect and extend her majority in the House. My guess is Foster anbd the McCain comments were tipping points.

You don't have to trust any of us Clinton supporters, just know that your side has been more than effective at completely alienating us as well. I will never vote for BO and may never give another nickle to the Democratic party if he is nominated.

He may be, but he's not alienating what might be the most influential superdelegate left to declare.  Nancy Pelosi, like it or not, will have sway in remaining undeclared supers in the house.  So this is probably a bigger deal than you might think.

Re: Nancy Pelosi Says No "Dream Ticket" (none / 0)

Name a single instance where Obama has placed himself and John McCain on comparative rung above Hillary Clinton.

THe problem isn't Clinton attacking Obama -- the problem is when Clinton proclaims Obama the "worst of the 3" remaining candidates.

I'm not one for the whole "thou shalt not attack fellow Dems" rule -- but you damn well shouldn't be attacking fellow Dems by favorably comparing the REPUBLICAN OPPONENT to him or her.

I can't forgive Clinton for that.

I've never wavered from saying I'll vote for the Democratic ticket - but HRC needs to stop helping McCain by favorably comparing him to Obama.

I'd say the same thing if Obama were in some way saying McCain would make a better President than Clinton.

Democrats shouldn't do that.

McCain definitely will get elected if the Democrats alienate the Clinton supporters by nominating someone who isn't qualified to lead the nation, and has unfairly accused the Clintons, and by implication, their supporters, of racism, simply for disagreeing with him, and supporting Hillary Clinton. As if simply being unqualified and destroying our last best chance at universal health care isn't enough, the accusations of racism are way over the top. I will never vote for someone like that.

Having his lackeys do it and not contradicting it is tacit approval.

If you think you are correct, then we all should get behind Hillary. Because you can not inform voters who dont want to be informed. So they will always vote against Obama.

Whereas since Obama's supporters are all well informed, it is easier for Obama to inform them to get behind Hillary for a united Democratic ticket.

How does it sound? Weird isnt it? If it does, then remember Hypocrisy is weird!

So now we cannot question Pelosi? Give me a break. She got her position due to landslide elections and public opionion that wanted Democrats to run things. What has she done with her political capital? How much has she done to fulfill the promises made during the 2006 elections?

Pelosi is a hard-core political operative and opportunist, which are perfectly acceptable traits in a politician. But she does fold under pressure, so she only deserves mixed reviews as Speaker of the House.

Re: Nancy Pelosi Says No "Dream Ticket" (none / 0)

They're both pretty bad, but the House is supposed to be the house of "the people", and more representative of our voices. And she represents a super liberal district and has absolutely nothing to fear from her constituents for going after the administration. Plus, Pelosi grew up in a powerful political family, so she should be better at playing these games.

So I sort of blame Pelosi more because I expect more from her.
