Critical Momentum: 36,831+ Donations in 36+ Hours! [UPDATED]

Yesterday, the Clinton campaign sent out an email encouraging her supporters to make 30,000 donations in 48 hours.  Today, they sent out another one showing that they nearly reached that goal in 24 hours, and the new goal of 50,000 in 72!

If you support Hillary and want her to be able to counteract the massive ad buys of the Obama Campaign, please consider giving.  I gave another $15.44 to the effort, even though I really cannot afford it until Friday. However, it is that important that she makes this stand on Tuesday.

The polls are shifting in Vermont and Texas.  We could be getting some critical momentum.  Please help:

*UPDATE:* HillaryClinton.com is now reporting 36,831. KEEP IT UP!

Re: Critical Momentum: 31,826+ Donations in 24+ Ho (2.00 / 4)

Thanks for posting this. I gave her my third donation yesterday, and will max out very soon. I cannot afford it at all, either, I have six illnesses that cost me everything I make to treat.

I have never cared so much about an election, I believe so deeply in her as a candidate, and pray she has a chance to serve as our President!

Re: Critical Momentum: 31,826+ Donations in 24+ Ho (2.00 / 3)

I am sorry to hear about your illnesses.  Hopefully, if Hillary becomes president, we will get the kind of health care system that will get you back on your feet.

I have never given to a political candidate before this year (well, except for $10 to a mayoral candidate in 1997).  It is that important.

I wish you the best of luck on achieving the goal (1.00 / 3)

Obama is fewer than 2500 donations away from breaking a million separate donations in 2008.

In honor of your fund raising thread, I'll go kick in another $25.

This is not true! (2.00 / 1)

Everything I see written says it would be the TOTAL amount of people donating! NOT 1 million in just 2008!

IT is absolutely true! (none / 0)

Nope, 1,000,000 donations in 2008.

Click the link.

HE achieved 1,000,000 separate donors last week. That's 1,000,000 individuals donating to his campaign since it started.

But if you click the link, you'll see that  as of 5:40 PM on March 1, he's received 999,525 donations in 2008. As a side note, about 2000 additional donations were made in the time since I made the post you resonded to.

The original goal was for 500,000 separate donations by MArch 4.

IF you do the math and figure the average calculation was about $85 (he said $109 in the debate), he raised over $60 million in February, which he has yet to announce. That's more than 700,000 donations in February.

Update to my other comment. (2.00 / 1)

The 1 mil. mark would be total amount on separate donations, not just "new".
This really means nothing. I could donate $100.00 ten separate times and I would be counted as 10 individual donations. ... see?

I have seen so many times around the "internets" people posting that O will have 1 mil. NEW donors in 2008. THIS is not true.

Re: Update to my other comment. (none / 0)

Oh he'll end up with more than 1,000,000 new donors in 2008.

That'sbecause he'll break 2,000,000 individual donors before the convention.

This is misleading. (none / 0)

Read what you wrote.

"Individual" and "new" are not the same.

Think of all the people YOU know that have donated. How many times have each of them donated just in 2008?

If I make ONE donation of $2300, then I am counted as  1 individual donation and 1 new donor.

If I break up that $2300.00 into separate $100.00 donations, then I am a "new" donor once and counted as "individual" donations 23 times.

Get it?

Re: This is misleading. (none / 0)

Not misleading at all.

He has over 1,000,000 individual donors right now (1,029,708 as of 5:54 PM today to be exact).

I'm saying that number will be over 2,000,000 by the convention.

The absolute simplest of mathematics disctates that will be more than 1,000,000 new donors this year alone.

He also has 999,525 donations for 2008. That's donations in 2008 alone. Not all of those 1,000,000 have donated this year. Many of the donors have donated multiple times.

Given the numbers and my prediction of 2,000,000 individual donors by the convention, that would be around 4 or 5 million donaitons by the convention.

So... (none / 0)

How many times have YOU given in 2008? Each of those "separate" donations from YOU is counted as part of the 1 mil.

That 1 mil. means nothing.

Re: So... (2.00 / 1)

Then you count as four of those 1 million.

Now if everyone gave four times in 2008, then that would mean that only 250,000 people gave not 1 million.

Re: So... (none / 0)

Yep, I sure do.

But not everybody donates four times.

It is an asbolute fact, BArack Obama has over 1,000,000 individual donors since his campaign began.

He is also approaching over 1,000,000 donations in 2008.

How many of those 50,000 donations Hillary is looking for will come from people who have donated before? PRobably a pretty good number. That's the people powered model in action. It's nice the Clinton campaign finally adopted it. It's too bad they took so long to do it.

I know (none / 0)

he has over a million donors.

I would guess that Hillary is in the high hundreds of thousands of donors.

The mil "donations" in 2008, I often see stated as 1 mil "new donors" in 2008.

I would also guess that Hillary is in the high hundreds of thousands of donations in 2008.

I am not trying to diminish the whole 1 mil. thing, but it is often mislead into 1 mil. new donors in 2008. This is not true.

Re: Critical Momentum: 31,826+ Donations in 24+ Ho (2.00 / 2)

I just can't stop myself from giving to HRC.  I just gave again, $49.20 this time.

30, for my age, the years I've lived excited about a woman president, and 19.20, the year women got the constitutional right to vote.

Please, everyone give what you can.  I am buried in work today, so I can't make calls, who will make 49 calls for my donation?

Keep in going!!!!!!!!! We WILL do it.

GO HILLARY!!
