Saddam and Auchi

"Allow me to introduce you to Nadhmi Auchi. He was charged in the 1950s with being an accomplice of Saddam Hussein, when the future tyrant was acquiring his taste for blood. He was investigated in the 1980s for his part in alleged bribes to the fabulously corrupt leaders of post-war Italy. In the 1990s, the Belgium Ambassador to Luxembourg claimed that Auchi's bank held money Saddam and Colonel Gadaffi had stolen from their luckless peoples. In 2002, officers from the Serious Fraud Squad raided the offices of one of Auchi's drug companies as part of an investigation of what is alleged to be the biggest swindle ever of the NHS."

Auchi and Rezko
"A firm founded by shopping mall mogul Edward J. DeBartolo Jr. is planning a $750-million retail and housing project on part of an expansive South Loop site that Chicago developer Antoin S. "Tony" Rezko gave up last year."
...
"Last fall Mr. Rezko's partnership sold the property for $130.5 million to a company led by Iraqi-born British billionaire Nadhmi Auchi."

Auchi and Rezko gets FBI upset

"An indicted businessman who poured thousands of dollars into the campaigns of Barack Obama and other politicians was jailed Monday after prosecutors disclosed he received $3.5 million from an Iraqi billionaire while claiming to be broke."

"Obama actually represented partners of Rezko's company in government-subsidized apartment rehabilitation projects, not Rezko himself. Obama says he did no more than five or six hours of work for the partners."

"An FBI affidavit said Rezko actually received $3.5 million from a Lebanon-based bank account of General Mediterranean Holdings, a Luxembourg company owned by London-based Iraqi billionaire Adhmi Auchi. Rezko's attorney said Rezko has had business dealings with Auchi."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/28 /indicted-obama-fundraiser_n_83674.html? load=1&page=2

"Two years ago, Obama bought a mansion on the South Side, in the Kenwood neighborhood, from a doctor. On the same day, Rezko's wife, Rita Rezko, bought the vacant lot next door from the same seller. The doctor had listed the properties for sale together. He sold the house to Obama for $300,000 below the asking price. The doctor got his asking price on the lot from Rezko's wife.

Last year, Rita Rezko sold a strip of that vacant lot to Obama for $104,500 -- a deal Obama later apologized for, acknowledging that people might think he got a favor from Rezko. Obama called the episode "boneheaded'' and a "mistake.''

At the time Obama bought that strip of land, it had been reported that Rezko was under federal investigation for influence-peddling involving the administration of Blagojevich, whose campaign also received Rezko's financial support."

"In addition to a land deal, Sen. Barack Obama's ties to indicted dealmaker Antoin "Tony" Rezko include an internship the senator provided the son of a contributor at the request of Rezko, an Obama spokesman confirmed today."

"
Update: Raw Story on the scrubbing of the site with the Rezko-Blagojevich pictures . After rumors began circulating that Auchi may have met with Obama, information was deleted from two websites connected to Auchi's company about a spring 2004 visit to the United States that occurred as Obama was campaigning to be Illinois' junior senator. And then this at the bottom, More recently, according to the FBI, Rezko had contacted "certain Illinois government officials" to help Auchi get a visa to the United States."

Re: From Saddam to to Obama (none / 0)

Yard?

This issue is if Saddam paid Obama ~ 1 million to vote against the war.

I have demonstrated a money trail from

Saddam to Auchi  Starting in 1950
Auchi to Rezko many millions of dollars
Rezko to Obama $600,000 house loan and $300,000 under market house...

You all know the vote trail...

Re: From Saddam to Auchi to Rezko to Obama (none / 0)

When you talk about people you have done business with do you find that you do business with people with ties to Saddam and the mafia?

Do they buy you houses?

Re: Sorry, but this has already been done. (none / 0)

Understood, re Rezkowatch, but what do you think of Obama's connections to Rezko, and Auchi?  (no troll.)

A poster from noquarter.com makes a very strong case in regard to Auchi's suspected crimes, he is associated with much dirt, and many politicians, including Obama.

http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/02/08/ msnbc-pissing-away-its-credibility/#comm ent-130918

Is this OK with you, business as usual, they all do it, Clinton does it too, (and if she does, she should be called out too,) ok,  but really, and no troll, why do Obama supporters disregard this connection, and even worse, the greater implications in terms of the Iraq war, and even 9.11?

At the very least, a real administration would have appointed a special prosecutor by now...

I'm assuming you're an Obama supporter, if not, I apologize, AI.

But if any Obama supporter wants to speak up, please do, I'm open to persuasion.

Re: From Saddam to Auchi to Rezko to Obama with li (2.00 / 1)

its unbelievable after alllllll ttthhhhaaattt trying.... still nothing. This is a non story however much you push it its a non story. This guilty by association thing won't work. Chicago media has dug and dug and dug, all there is to this story has been told.

Its better you spend your time telling others the positives about your chosen candidate to get them on your side. These kinds of diaries, pushing a non story and in fact making it worse will not, i repeat not bring any one in to support your candidate. You do a disservice to your candidate.

what a pity.

The media pushed non-stories about Edwards throughout 2007 - haircuts, home, etc- but the media has given a rockstar senator a pass.

How about you just email that to the McCain campaign, I'm sure they'll be more receptive than us.

Re: From Saddam to Auchi to Rezko to Obama with li (none / 0)

I'm sure the Republicans are already digging in to the story. Obama has not had the Republican hit squad aimed at him and why Obama's Rezko connection should be very troubling for Democrats.

Forget what the polls say now about Obama beating McCain in a matchup for two very obvious reasons. Polls in this election have proven to be somewhat poor measures of what people are actually doing in the voting booth. Also, these polls reflect feelings about a Obama before high negatives are introduced.

Rezko's trial is set to begin on February 25. More reports are coming out regarding Rezko's Middle East connections and also questions of war-profiteering. Me thinks this is a sign of trouble ahead for Obama.

Re: From Saddam to Auchi to Rezko to Obama with li (none / 0)

Isn't it true that Obama killed Vince Foster and framed the Clinton's?

6 degrees of separation...
Didn't you once walk by someone, who lived across the street from someone who killed their cat?
Why do you support killing cats?

Peddle this crap elsewhere..

Rezko's trial is set to begin on February 25. It will be interesting to see how much the MSM covers the story.

Re: From Saddam to Auchi to Rezko to (none / 0)

CLINTON: So we tried to be quite aggressive with them [Al Qaeda]. We got -- well, Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan. He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again. They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America. So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, 'cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn't and that's how he wound up in Afghanistan.

---------------------------------------- --------

So basically the US president couldn't force the Saudis to take bin Laden? That's why bin laden was able to get to Afghanistan. Nice going Billy!

That was discredited by the 9/11 commission. The only people who use that stuff are right wingers.
