Obama must be stopped! Call to action for Clinton backers!

As we know, idiot voters (cultists) have been voting for Barack Obama in overwhelming numbers of late. He will doom the Democratic Party!

I am calling all Clinton backers to take action TODAY!

We must get Clinton supporters to show up at EVERY Obama rally with megaphones and tell all of these cultists showing up to worship Obama that they are, well, cultists, idiots and suckers!

I suggest using the following phrases to dissuade these idiots from supporting the sick, sad Obama:

"You are all in a cult! You are fools! You are idiots if you support this man! Idiots! Suckers!"

Also, we should point out to these fools (LOUDLY!) that:

  • Obama will be torn to shreds by the Republicans!

  • He is a Muslim!

  • He associates with known terrorists! (Hat tip to Larry Johnson.)

  • His health plan sucks!

  • He's a black guy!!!!!!

  • Other bad stuff about him!!!!!!

This cannot wait! If you are in Texas or Ohio, PLEASE GET TO ALL OBAMA RALLIES AND TELL PEOPLE HOW STUPID THEY ARE!!!!!!

HURRY!!!!!! THIS CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!

Bob Johnson just embarrassed himself again. So what, must he come here and whine about us because we don't visit him at Kos any more? Does he miss us THAT much?

I am on your side, atd. Obama needs to be stopped. And, as I've read here over and over, those voting for him are cultists and idiots. We must let these voters know how stupid they are!

Time's a wastin'!

I think folks in Texas, Ohio, and Rhode Island are starting to wake up. I have confidence in our Democratic voters to make a smart choice. I'm sure they'll pick the candidate with real solutions before they resort to "change we can xerox". ;-)

Re: That's OK... (2.00 / 1)

So I guess by your logic, the voters in New York and California are idiots?

And do you honestly think that it's ridiculous to write diaries about why one believes that Hillary's UHC plan is better than Obama's? You include that on your list, so I assume you think that anyone who prefers Hillary's UHC plan to Obama's is being hysterical. So do must have a lot faith in Obama's plan. Have you read the following diary?

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/20/ 212945/129/822/460898

Why is it so crazy to question Obama's health care plan? Why do you so much contempt for anyone who questions any part of Obama's platform?

I think it's the "cultist" stuff that is in question here.

Suggesting that people who back Obama are members of a cult or are idiots for supporting him is the subject of the post.

I think Clinton backers should attend Obama rallies and let those in attendance know how stupid they are if they support Obama.

Hillary needs all the help she can get right now!!!

Sorry, Bob, but it's Obama's belligerent supporters who show up to Clinton rallies and make embarrassing, disgraceful scenes.

I may not support Obama, but I would never dream of being so disrespectful as to show up at his (or his wife's) speeches and making an a** of myself. Clinton supporters may express their outrage online, but we're not the ones trying to disrupt rallies.

Good job twisting it around, though.

Re: Obama must be stopped! Call to action for Clin (2.00 / 4)

Bob Johnson, unhinged.

I think that elements of both camps (not the general supporters) have taken on the character of cults of personality, which is an explicitly political thing--not a religious one.

There is a specific contingent of Senator Obama's supporters who seem unable to admit any criticism of him, are unwilling to accept any criticism from neutral third parties (like myself) and who are willing to apply different standards to themselves and others (going back and forth on "how should super delegates vote" and "its all about delegates" stand out). These are characteristics of a political "cult of personality" (not the same as a religious cult--it's a political expression).

The Clinton supporters have become unreasonable in their declarations that some sort of mass hysteria or hypnotism has caused Senator Obama's impressive supporters.

However, you cannot possibly ignore just how vehement Senator Obama's netroots supporters have been in their loathing of Senator Clinton, anybody who supports her, and the entire premise of her existence ("All she wants is power, she doesn't care about the party/country, whereas my guy is the salt of the Earth and will throw the moneychangers out of the temple").

The anti-Obama hysteria is growing, but I think it is clear that it did so in reaction to the hateful rhetoric that a contingent of Senator Obama's supporters (not ALL his supporters, obviously) have employed from the get-go.

You in particular are an unbelievably sore winner, unable to understand or comprehend that whoever is slightly ahead in total votes or delegates, we need to respect the choices the other side makes. You can't expect the Clinton partisans to do that unless you are willing to do it to. And you haven't.

You, obviously, don't care that we are doomed.

I think my plan attacks the problem, head-on.

You offer no solutions, only empty rhetoric and pretty words.

Re: Obama must be stopped! Call to action for Clin (2.00 / 1)

No, you are trying to make the fight more intense. You have a vested interest in pushing the the argument towards its more subjective, oppositional end, because in that atmosphere, where people are arguing subjective irrelevancies, you have the advantage (because by far the vast majority of the netroots are on your side).

We obviously are not doomed with either Senator becoming the nominee. What dooms us is how partisans such as yourself (and your opposite numbers in the Clinton camp) are creating a situation where once the nominee is decided, one camp or the other will be forced to make public hypocrites of themselves when they do support the winner.

Keep it up.

Re: Obama must be stopped! Call to action for Clin (2.00 / 1)

Exactly my point. Keep up the "food fight". You're not innocent in its beginning, and so you'll keep pushing it on and on.

Senator Obama will win the nomination and crush McCain, I think. But the party needs the organizational and intellectual contribution of the netroots to not only win but govern.

Your asinine diaries and comments explicitly work against that by encouraging name-calling, sneering, and self-congratulatory mutual masturbation.

Let me save you the trouble of replying:

"But, what about all these made-up accusations I'm putting in the mouths of Clinton's supporters, and though they weren't coming from a minority of her supporters? Isn't my intellectual dishonesty hilarious?"

You are trying to attribute the actions of a minority to the group, the same way that SOME Clinton partisans are trying to paint all Obama supporters are cultists.

Keep it up.

Juvenile, classless and counter productive (2.00 / 2)

I voted for Obama. But this sort of juvenile, classless idiotic behavior will not gain even one vote for him. I've seen lots of this online from both sides. Thank god it represents only a tiny fraction of voters most of whom have had a really tough time choosing between 2 candidates they really like.

Why don't you go do something constructive for the campaign. And don't tell me 'they started it' as I assume you are not still in kindergarten.

Please help me find a lawyer (1.66 / 6)

I want to rescind the vote I have already cast for Obama.

Bob is right - Obama must be stopped.  I've been able to escape the cult and I must report -- it's as bad as everything you've heard.  I had dinner with a GOP couple last night (one of the 3 in Chicago) - and they're both voting Obama this fall -----quote--- "Even if it means our taxes will probably go up".

Obama must be stopped.

If he isn't stopped, I fear we will have nothing left to fight for.  I fear that instead of fighting for affordable health care, we will get it... I fear that instead of arguing for sensible foreign policy, we will get it.  I fear that instead of screaming for environmentally friendly federal regulation - we'll get it.  I fear that instead decrying the deconstruction of our constitution, it will be restored.

Bob is absolutely right.

We must STOP this man - or else progressives will no longer be the angry minority, we'll be forced to be the governing majority.

:-)

Take a Deep Breath (2.00 / 1)

Unite...don't fight.

HRC has to win by 30 points in both OH and TX in order to catch up //or rather have a CHANCE to catch up with Obama.

That is not going to happen.

It is time to forget ego, to let go of the trappings of gender and race, and get behind the eventual nominee.  We NEED to defeat McCain.  We NEED to expand congressional majorities.

To do this...we must stop fighting amongst ourselves and get behind Obama.

I would have supported HRC had she accumulated the sort of lead and steam the Obama has NOW!  Come on folks.
