Re: MyDD commitment gut-check (none / 0)

I love the poll and I actually believe by some of the responses I've read from all over the blogosphere that they'd pick re-living 2000.  It's so petty and childish, but I'm not really surprised, b/c that's how adults tend to act nowadays.

Michelle Obama said she'd "think" (2.00 / 3)

I don't think that the idea of Obama supporting the democrat nominee sits easily in my head. After all, it was his wife that said she'd "have to think about it," and it was him that said that he'd get all of Hillary's supporters, but he wasn't sure if all of his own would support her. Hillary said no such thing.

I'm not saying that I won't support him...at least I haven't confirmed it yet. But, it will be very very difficult to do so after those comments.

Re: Michelle Obama said she'd "think" (none / 0)

M. Obama was asked if she would WORK to support Clinton.

Michelle Obama Befundles Much (2.00 / 1)

You are correct; I did see that on the Today show as well and was amazed no one made notice of this.  In fact, my initial reaction was that this was an 'immature' comment from a would be first lady.

Can these slips of the tongue be avoided, or is this a common theme?
Should we hold her to a higher standard or allow her 'on the job training'?

Puerto Rico has 55 delegates, awarded proportionately, as in all Dem primaries.

Re: Michelle Obama said she'd "think" (2.00 / 1)

Puerto Rico is not winner take all.  That was an incorrect story that seems to have taken hold.

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/PR-D.p html

36 district delegates are proportionally allocated by senatorial district.

* District 1 San Juan: 4

  • District 2 Bayamón: 5
  • District 3 Arecibo: 4
  • District 4 Mayagüez: 4
  • District 5 Ponce: 4
  • District 6 Guayama: 4
  • District 7 Humacao: 4
  • District 8 Carolina: 4

In addition, 12 at-large and 7 Pledged PLEOs are proportionally allocated by the islandwide vote.

Historically, the island has given all of its delegates to one candidate, because one candidate had already wrapped up the nomination by the time Puerto Rico came.  However, should the nomination still be contested by two strong candidates when Puerto Rico votes, the odds of one winning all the delegates are practically 0.
