Plagiarism? Not exactly.

Keep on accusing Obama of plagiarism.

It just makes the Clinton Campaign look stupid.

Obama stole from Patrick! OMG!

Not really.

It was Obama who first tested the approach during his Senate victory in Illinois in 2004. Patrick improved on it last year. Now Obama is building on both of those successes as he makes his historic run for the White House.

Good Lord, Obama stole from Patric before he inspired Patrick!

Diabolical.

Seriously, folks. Both have extremely similar messages and speak to a very similar, dissatisfied population of voters. Of COURSE their words will have similarities, of COURSE there will be overlapping. They have had a relationship for 10 years, they shared a political strategist, they both run on hope and change.

I fail to see how Obama can have plagiarized someone he freakin' INSPIRED.

Again, can we please focus on facts and ACTUAL reasons to not like the candidates, as opposed to the bullshit that's pervading this site and DailyKos in different ways?

Is that REALLY too much to ask?

He's toast. (1.50 / 2)

America will not stand for plagiarism.

Kiss him goodbye!

I eagerly await a Clinton supporter to explain exactly why this is still a huge deal.

I hope it involves large, well-choreographed dance numbers.

And pirates.

Pirates are cool.

I'm sorry, it's just every time I look up, there are brand new dots and the old ones are no longer valid.

Kinda tough to keep up with all the tap-dancing the Clintonites are doing these days.

And Clinton's plans are by no means original thoughts, so your argument is asinine.

Kennedy's speechwriter? Maybe you're talking about Ted Sorenson, who has endorsed Obama and stumpted for him on occasion. But, I'm pretty sure that he hasn't written any of Obama's speeches.

Anyway, Obama's top speechwriter is actually a 26-year old kid named Jon Favreau (not the actor, obviously). Newsweek did a nice story about him not too long ago, which you can find here.

I mean "stumped for him," obviously.

I can't get over how similar Obama's speeches are to Deval Patricks.  Even the campaign slogans are practically the same.

Obama "Yes We Can"
Deval "Together We Can"

Who is Obama?  Deval 2.0?
