Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (Seriously)

Take a look at Barack Obama's "State of the Race"...claiming to have won 19 of 30 states.

It looks like Senator Obama's web team has just about as much experience as he does!

We know the Obama nutties are going to pull a lever for Democracy and say that technically, he won more delegates out of Nevada.

Please tell me, how we, members of the Democratic Party, people who are supposed to fight for the people's agenda, the people's voice, how we can say that Obama won the Nevada caucuses.

Barack Obama    Illinois    Democratic    4,805    45.12%
Hillary Clinton    New York    Democratic    5,407    50.77%

Only in Republican America does Obama win Nevada.  The campaign team needs to explain this ASAP.

nevada doesn't mean much.

I am sure he would be glad to give the clinton camp the bragging right on that one.

lol

He is on his way to the nomination.

he March 4 primary would decide the nomination.

If he wins either texas or ohio , he has it wrapped up.

Sure (none / 0)

He won Nevada by one delegate, and we can win at convention with 100 superdelegates. I don't want to hear one more Obamabot lecture on "democratic principle" as long as Nevada is listed under his website's win column. How ridiculously hypocritical.

Re: Sure (none / 0)

Obama didn't make the rules, he's just winning under them.  And whatever flaws you find in current system, those delegates that he keeps on winning are infinitely more democratically elected than the superdelegates that you're naively hoping will come to Hillary's rescue.

For a real example of hypocrisy, read this:

"It's clear, this election they're having is not going to count for anything" --Hillary Clinton, October 2007, referring to the Michigan primary.  http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory ?id=3717119

Re: Sure (none / 0)

Uh, the quote about Michigan not counting was from HILLARY CLINTON.

Ask Harold Ickes (none / 0)

"It's useful to win states, but states don't vote -- delegates do....This is very much a race for delegates at this point." -- Harold Ickes, a longtime Clinton insider and aide to President Bill Clinton, who is heading up the delegate operation for the Clinton campaign.  http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/i dUSN3124420220080131?feedType=RSS&fe edName=topNews

Hope that answers your question.  :-)

Re: Barack Obama claiming (none / 0)

If he's claiming Nevada as a win based on delegates, then he should only be claiming half of Missouri.

Re: Barack Obama claiming (none / 0)

Well, when the delegates are evenly split, the popular vote is the tie breaker.  :-)

Re: Barack Obama claiming (none / 0)

He can fill that other half of that state with half of New Hampshire. Having tied there 9 to 9... Although if you're counting supers he has 3 to her 2 there.

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (none / 0)

Just like when Obama won Alabama but Hillary got one more delegate 13-12.

Yes it is. I just checked. He wants it both ways.

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (2.00 / 0)

Just a correction, Obama leads 27-24 when all the delegates are taken into account including plegded. My mistake.

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (none / 0)

So then, based on your logic, New Hampshire was a tie as well.  Obama and Hillary got the same number of delegates there, too.  You gonna take that one out of Hillary's column?

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (none / 0)

This is really a messed up way of picking a nominee, regardless of who want to win, would you agree? The DNC is to blame for this. Sure glad Howard Dean isnt President.

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (none / 0)

Our entire presidential selection is fucked up beyond compare.  Too much money.  Too much shallowness.  Too much media involvement.  Too much shit about "momentum."  We expect people to vote in the middle of the friggin' winter.

As for your last sentence, I am still PISSED that Howard Dean is not president.

Re: Barack Obama claiming he won Nevada caucuses? (none / 0)

285, you do make some good points about the process. As for Howard Dean, I do agree that compared to Hillary and Obama, he doesnt look bad. Anti war, fiscal conservative, pro-gun and as a doctor, he would come up with a workable health care plan. I orignally supported Chris Dodd but he never caught on. I wonder if buyers remorse will set in after one of these two is nominated. Sen Dodd and Biden look pretty good right now.
