I'm sorry, the Republican Party deviated from its batshit crazy right-wing "roots"? When was this? I didn't get the memo. I thought they were the party of Lincoln--he wasn't remotely conservative. Teddy Roosevelt was outright liberal. Eisenhower's descendants endorsed Obama. The GOP's conservative "roots" are as fictitious as those myths about the 1950s; they never existed in the first place! I guess any Republican infighting is good though...

LOL! If they do this, we'll just expand and cement our dominance of the nation! They can become the party of some of the South and West. I'm sure the reason they lost this year was their being too liberal.

Which brings the support down to about 24% of the population.

On one hand - good. It pretty well assigns the GOP to the electoral waste pile.

On the other hand - not good. For one I am a firm believer in the two-party system, and it's best to have two reasonable sides with different approaches than have either side behave like foaming extremists.

Further, I reject the definition of "conservative" that the "Far Right" uses. Conservatism has nothing to do with Christianity, and as long as they follow that tack they may as well form a new party and allow the GOP to be the home of political conservatives.

Like Sunny von Bulow wants more insulin. Good, let them aspire to a greater level of exclusionism by twisting the fundamentals of true conservatism to match their warped worldview.

They're not rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic anymore, they're installing Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. All hail Newt as their fearless leader, and onward into the wilderness!
