I've been writing about the increasingly aggressive stance Obama and his campaign have taken against Fox News - calling out their bias and role as the right's mouthpiece for smear.
Yesterday, joking with Jon Stewart, Obama made reference to how marginal Fox's audience is becoming:
"I think that there's a certain segment of hardcore Sean Hannity fans that probably wouldn't want to go have a beer with me,'' Obama conceded. "There's no doubt about that."But I think that the average voter, they're saying to themselves, 'What's all this stuff about? I'm trying to figure out whether I can hang on to my house.'"
A perfect point: yes, there's a certain margin of people who listen to and believe the lies from Fox News - but it's far from any sort of majority. And calling out the reality is important: the more people hear the truth about Fox's bias, the less influence the bias carries.
